Serena is seated at the square cafe. She picks up the knife and dares to dream ... Serena takes herself to a place of darkness in her mind. She smiles at shirtless Zander in bed only to stab him in the heart. Back to reality. She goes on her way to show him she is NOT afraid ... Nicole is alone at the office, mulling over her plan to expose Zander and Serena to save Eric. She feels terrible for temporarily duping Dan but forges ahead and calls Zander. He takes the call and tells her he is in the middle of something at the moment. They will speak soon. Eric peers into her office, innocently wondering why she was calling Zan ... Zan pleasantly approaches Dan at the hospital, hiding his hatred with a smile ...At DiMera mansion, Mel is sorry for Chad's loss. He brings up Brady and the fact that just as he deserved the truth Mel uncovered, Chad deserves to know his family's truth. Marlena almost candy coated what Kristen had done before her demise ... At the Castle, Stefano thunders at Marlena to give him one rrrrrrreason he should not kill her like she killed his Kristen. Marlena morphs into soap heroine mode and stands up to him. So THIS is how he wants to end it! She shouts. Stefano is not surprised. She has always been a formidable opponent when provoked ... Zander explains to Dan that Victor asked him to make sure everyone was well taken care of, including Brady's baby, so if he needs anything ... Dan thinks everything is under control. Zan now mentions Nicole, again hoping he did not cause any friction for them ... Nicole makes up an excuse about wanting to call Zan about the Brady story she is now being bugged to write. Eric finds it a flimsy excuse since she did not ask him anything and he is Brady's brother. He berates her until she agrees to tell him the truth ... Roman has summoned Abe to his office at the station cos Marlena is MIA! It has him worried as hell, given what just happened in Italy. Roman has not reported anything to John, as he has much to deal with and they have nothing concrete ... Abe is on the case ... Stefano scoffs Marlena killed his daughterrr. She scoffs right back he just wants an excuse to kill her thus ending his OBSESSION. The phoenix dares her to do a trip down memory lane ... Mel finally agrees to give Chad all the facts. The fact is Kristen was going to kill them all but then struggled with Marlena and fell out the window to her death so they were spared. ... Abe and Roman have an update. Marlena's assistant received a text to cancel all of her appointments. This can mean only one thing. STEFANO! Marlena flashes back to clean shaven Stefano calmly informing her she would not be found for no one knew of his secret place. She blinks back to reality and returns his stare, stating now it is different. This place he is holding her prisoner is already known so she WILL be found! He muses but this time he might kill her first ... Nicole imagines how Eric would refuse to believe what she had overheard between Serena and Zan about their mysterious dirty secrets. Eric waits for her explanation. Nicole airily claims she wanted to make Dan jealous and maybe have a little fun with Zander the hottie from out of town ... Smooth talking Zander has invited Dan to the club for coffee. Real coffee, not the weak hospital blend. Serena arrives in time to overhear Zan praising Victor for helping Mel. He mentions how close Victor was to Dan's dad, unlike his own, who was blood. Serena decides to walk into the fire and come to their table, taunting how little Zander spoke of his family while in Africa ... Abraham is on the move. His mission is to reach the source ... At DiMera mansion, Chad gets glum about being a DiMera, listing the dreadful things he has done. Mel gives him a pep talk, pointing out she has done bad things too but that does not make her like those DiMeras any more than his misdeeds make him like EJ or Kristen or Stefano, Chad sighs not yet anyway ... Marlena explodes at Stefano for all the times he has ranted and raved about making her family pay. She is still standing ... A flashback is shown of Stefano holding her at the top of a cliff as a chopper approached, a rat she discovered in a dinner dish, the time he appeared as a man in a dark mask. Mind control fills the flashbacks as Marlena numbly follows him into a secret passageway, then later how he rages at his queen of the night for leading him on ... Back to reality. Marlena now shrinks Stefano, stating his was and is a classic textbook OBSESSION! Nicole gets rid of Eric by dismissing his concern she would do a Brady story and insisting she has work to do ... Serena sits with Dan and Zan and slyly wonders why Zander the man of charity service was so secretive about his past. Dan discretely decides he must depart. Serena sweetly suggests they all have dinner together - her, Mel, Dan and even Zan. She laughs Zan likes to chew people up. Exit Dan. Zander angrily orders Serena to come to his hotel room. Once there, she laughs she was joking. He is not amused. She notes he acts sweet when he wants to seduce a woman and acts sweet with a man when he hates them. She now knows he hates Dan but what exactly is his game ...? Mel tenderly tells Chad he and he alone gets to decide the kind of DiMera he is. He tenderly wishes her all the happiness and thanks her for her candor. They seem to sense this is a goodbye ... Stefano sarcastically states Saint Marlena canonized herself with that frozen smile that is a big lie. He questions whether she can claim her own hands are clean ... Flashbacks are shown of Marlena shooting Stefano at close range, stabbing him with a needle, seducing him ... Then comes the scene of Stefano fighting with the demon that had possessed her in an attempt to save her. He had been battered and bloodied. Back to reality. Marlena exclaims she was possessed by the devil back then. The DiMera patriarch dramatically declares YOU ARRRRRRE THE DEVIL! Dan is delighted to bump into Nicole at the town square. She is sorry for walking away when he wanted to explain what was happening to Mel. He smiles he is sorry too and invites her out for dinner. Nicole blows him off pretending to be busy. The medicine man leaves hanging his head. Nicole mutters to herself about uncovering the Zander/Serena secret asap so she can make this up to him ... Chad is in a finer frame of mind when Abe appears at the mansion. Abe informs him he and Theo are sorry for his loss but the Salem P.D. has reason to believe Stefano has snatched Marlena. Chad admits they spoke and father was strangely calm ... Marlena reminds Stefano that just like he would, she fiercely protects her family. She reminds him they share grandchildren and she understands what it is to lose a child. Stefano is incensed. She asks him whether he would feel better killing her for the accident. He claims he would. Marlena now appeals to him to realize what it would do to the grandchildren to know Nono had killed their grandmother. The king of the DiMeras demonically declares they will NEVERRRRRR know... In the hotel room, Serena suggests Zan has a dark secret since his family is in Salem and he never spoke of them. He warns her to shut up and insists she is out of her league ... Abe implores Chad to call Stefano before it is too late. He is out for revenge! Chad calls ... Stefano barks for his suited men to come and toss her out the window. Marlena protests and struggles as he sits and enjoys his mind games ...The men turn her to the window ... Eric drops by Dan's apartment with some pictures. He is puzzled when Dan updates him on Serena suggesting they dine with Zan included. Eric does not understand Serena, who had insisted she hated Zander ... Zander kicks smug Serena out. She opens the door only to come face to face with Nicole ... Stefano has already ignored his ringing phone from his last son once. Abe implores Chad to try again. Chad does and wants to believe his father would not harm her ... Marlena lets out a final scream at Kristen's window of death. STEFANOOOOOOOO STOP IT! He smiles like the devil incarnate ... THE END! |
