There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At his place, Dan is ready to confront Nicole, who is under the impression he wants to hear her big news. He grimaces and she deduces he is down on account of the Nick news. It made her realize all the more that she must confess to him! Dan peers at her with his intelligent eyes. She refers to the drama on Smith Island which almost got her good friend shot dead and her deep regret. Dan gasps she makes bad choices. In addition, she was so determined to stop Liam and it was almost personal. What was that about? Nicole soap stares, no longer the confident woman in love she was when she waltzed inside. But she does her darnedest to cover, survivor that she is. - Eric consoles Jen at Horton house over Nick. She gasps she cannot imagine who would have been so terrible and invites the former father in. He is sorry for Abigail too and asks if he can help. Jen thinks he is sweet but wants to know about his plans with Nicole. - At the police station, Detective Hope is in her office going over the evidence on her desk. She holds up a business card as though examining it. Enter Aiden, assuming she will need to postpone their gala meeting. He offers to help but Hope demands to know what his card was doing in Nick's wallet! He admits Nick contacted him for a client. Gabriella. Hope takes it all in, committed to solving his MURDER. - At DiMera mansion, Marlena is mortified by Nick’s desperate message. Sami's tea tray crashes to the floor when she hears his voice. Marlena notices she was spooked by the mere sound of Nick's voice. Sami insists it stems from seeing him all shot up last night at the square. Marlena explains she knows she did not wish him dead but Sami claims she did! - Cowboy Rafe approaches EJ at the square and notes the place is almost back to normal. One would never know about the murder! EJ is peeved Ally had to bear witness to the event, bids Rafe a good day and tries to keep going. But Rafe is not done yet. He sarcastically states the problem of Nick being gone sure is convenient for some people. EJ reminds Rafe he was assaulted by one of Nick's prison enemies not too long ago. Rafe has not forgotten. EJ suggests a homicidal maniac offed the genius. Rafe concedes they both had their issues with Nick but EJ does not seem to be shedding any tears. EJ says the same of him, then adds Rafe is the better shot before going on his arrogant way. - At the Wilson apartment, Gabi is said to be sleeping. Sonny gets his black backpack down and promises Will he is going to put the gun back at Victor's pronto. Woman in black Gabi appears and gives them a start. Will assumed she was sleeping. She cannot as she is haunted by Nick's last look. Will gets a call as Sonny casually claims to have errands. Will explains his phone call. T'was a reminder of the family court hearing for tomorrow morning. Gabi now decides to cancel that and handle things differently. She goes to get her phone. Sonny smiles things are going to work out and kisses Will. Outside the door, however, he is met by a police officer, who orders him to come with. And so he does. Will has no idea, as he is still inside the apartment. - Back at Dan's place, Nicole rages about Liam the son of a beech, but Dan has done the math. She never even threatened him with the gun, she just shot and then seemed to want to shut him up when he tried to speak his last words. Nicole explains she is really here about a secret. Daniel thinks she is about to come clean and encourages her to tell the whole truth. She holds up her diamond ring and gushes she is getting married! - Marlena understands what stressed Sami is feeling, but that does not mean she is to blame for Nick's murder. Sami wants to know when he left that voice mail. 8:46. Sami gasps that is when he was killed! Nancy Drew Sami wants her to play it again. EJ enters with a frown as Nick has the last word, about his hope for change. Then the three shots are heard. Sami is indignant and exclaims to EJ that HE actually shot Nick when he was saying he wanted to change! EJ holds his horrified fiancée. - At Horton house, Eric and Jen have tea as they discuss Daniel and Nicole's unusual friendship. Jen confesses she was not comfortable with their couple lie. Eric explains it was so Nicole could investigate Chyka. He goes on to praise her for working hard to clear his name, risking everything, even her own life. Even though she knows ... Jen concludes the proof would have kept him in the Church. Eric does not deny it. In fact, it almost seems to make him love her more ... - Dan stares in disbelief as Nicole credits him for leading her back to Eric. He touches the file and she wonders if something is wrong. His voice shaking, he dramatically declares something is VERY wrong! - Woman in black Gabi has evidently called lawyer Aiden. There shall be no hearing! Will sympathetically states everyone knew that Nick had pressured her into it. He is sorry she wanted to believe he had changed again. She quips they will never know now and goes to check on the baby. Moments later, Rafe shows up, hands on his hips, demanding answers from Will about Nick. - EJ calls it all unsettling. He agrees with Marlena when she insists she must give the recording to Hope. EJ exclaims it will pinpoint the exact time of death. He places a possessive arm around Sami. He soon sees Marlena to the door, thanks her for coming, and assures her Samantha cares dearly for her motha. Marlena leaves with a smile. EJ shuts the door and solemnly warns his frazzled fiancee to watch wot she says. Sami does not understand so he enlightens her. She let it slip the shooter was a HE! Sami starts to panic. EJ thinks here is no need, for Nick is dead and gone. That is a good thing for everyone. Sami agrees it is good and that was why they did it. He places his hands on her shoulders and states they must proceed with the utmost caution when answering questions the police will pose over the next few days. Sami takes a deep breath. There can be no mistakes ... - Hope bids Sonny sit down in her office and put down his backpack too. Sonny slowly does just that, though he tries to hang onto it. The detective states she simply has questions, as she will with all the witnesses. Sonny cannot deny he saw Nick bleeding when he fell and points out many saw, he was not the only witness. She notes then she will have many such interviews. She now asks if there is anything at all he might know about Nick's killer to help the cops catch the perp. Sonny stares and keeps holding the backpack. - Gabi interrupts Rafe before he can question Will. The baby is asleep. He assures his sister if she needs to talk to anyone ... Gabi calmly explains she is dealing with things fine and thanks him with a sisterly embrace. Then she asks Will to watch the baby and exits on an errand. Rafe is not sure she is okay. Will thinks she is going to be, just like all of them. Rafe wants to go over the events of last night. Will has nothing to hide. Neither does Rafe. He is relieved to learn the custody hearing was just cancelled by Gabi. He now probes Will about when he first knew of the custody hearing. Last night. Rafe drawls it was the same night he threatened to kill Nick for trying to take Arianna away from him and got physical. Will cannot deny it. - Back at Horton house, suited Aiden offers his condolences to Jen for Nick. Jen offers him tea and flounces into the kitchen. Eric and Aiden muse they have met before, at the dinner party from hell. Aiden teases his lady Nicole was upset with him that night. Eric gushes now things between them are purrfect. - Nicole hopes that Dan does not suspect she pushed Eric into getting engaged. He happens to love her and it was his idea. Dan sighs that is not the problem. In his view, she and Eric will have to come to their own decision on marriage. Nicole thinks they have and wishes her good friend would be happy for her. Is he not her friend? Dan snaps he is, perhaps too much! Nicole is lost and wrongly assumes he is jealous. But he is with Jen now and she and Eric are engaged to be married. Pause. Dan emotionally states as friends they have come to totally trust one another. He rehashes their history and she agrees they have overcome. So why the long face? He was the one who taught her about true love. Dan replies he is aware how much Eric means to her. However, he finds it tough to fathom what he now knows ... - Hope questions Sonny on the last time he saw a living, breathing Nick. He admits it was at the club and they ... talked. Hope informs him that according to witnesses, they had a heated exchange, not just a regular talk. She asks the question again. - Back at DiMera mansion, Sami and EJ are seated on the sofa with Johnny and Sydney, having informed them of Ally seeing something scary she might not forget for a while. They are both here to talk to their kids anytime. Johnny hopes the bad man will not hurt them too. Sami and EJ insist they will keep their kids safe. Family hug! - Jennifer walks Aiden to the door. He admits he himself is no stranger to tragedy. Things can change so unexpectedly! Jen thanks him and closes the door. Aiden goes on his lonely way. - Sonny tells Hope all about Nick's nasty threat to cut Will out of his baby's life. That was the reason he got in his face. Hope notes he was angry. Sonny explains it was a natural response around Nick. Hope asks if she should know anything else he has not yet shared. Sonny remembers his gun, then airily states there is nothing. Hope tells him he is free to go. Exit Sonny, backpack and all ... - Back at the apartment, Will admits to Rafe he was angry. However, people say all kinds of things when angry. Rafe gets it, but this time the guy was shot to death an hour later. Will certainly hopes Rafe does not believe he actually killed Nick! No. Rafe is merely concerned with appearances. Will suspects he is going to tell Hope he fought with Nick. Rafe thinks he has a better idea. Will can do it. - Sonny silently slips into the Kiriakis gun room and puts the weapon back where it belongs, unseen, after wiping off any fingerprints with a cloth. - Marlena enters Hope's office with the stunning message from Nick. She presses play ... - Alone with her at the mansion, EJ assures stressed Samantha that the situation will pass. His hit man is long gone and will never be back. She gasps she feels terrible, He sits her on his lap and notes Nicholas made his choice. He and he alone is to blame for the fact that he had to be murdered! "EXCUSE ME?" There stands Gabi, woman in black. Sami and EJ jump up. - Jen anxiously waits for a word from Dan as Eric sips his tea. They feel their significant others have been discussing Nicole’s news far too long ... - Nicole is perplexed. Dan points out she changed but not for the better. She was on a quest to find proof to clear Eric's holy name so he would be able to make a choice. In her own small way, she wanted to prove he would choose her over the Church. Then at the cabin, Chyka almost confessed, escaped, and Nicole claimed there was no proof. She cries that is because there was none! Dan gasps she had proof positive and refuses to let her continue with this charade. Nicole's face falls. - Gabi is sorry but butler Harold let her in. EJ and Sami assure her it is alright. She asks after Ally. Sami nervously explains she will be seeing a child psychiatrist. EJ suggests she postpone her modeling jobs but Gabi is eager to get to Argentina. She informs them she called off the custody hearing and wants EJ to draw up an agreement for 50/50 custody. EJ gladly accepts the task. Sami throws her arms around the girl in black. - Hope gets extremely emotional over the sound of cousin Nick being shot. The killer must have taken his phone too. Marlena is sorry. Hope considers it a travesty that he was killed while trying to reach out. His chance at change was stolen from him! Perhaps this call will lead them to the killer. Justin then Rafe and Will solemnly appear ... - Back in the Kiriakis gun room, Sonny wipes all traces of fingerprints from the glossy wooden box which is now closed ... - Jen thinks she and Eric should go over and surprise Dan and Nicole. Eric is all for it and they get going with a grin, not realizing what they will be walking into ... - Nicole wonders whether Dan is feverish. He snaps not to try and imply such a thing. She plays innocent about the proof but he has the file ready. Standing, he opens it to the Chyka papers and places them all in full view. "EXPLAIN THAT, NICOLE!" But Nicole makes no move to explain. Instead, she stays seated on the sofa and starts to shake, her eyes red with dread ...! Ahead on Days of Our Lives Nicole admits what she did! Hope shows a damning image to EJ and demands the truth! |
