Kate holds her head high and goes to nightclub bar, insisting to bartending Ben she intends to rise again, never mind those people pointing fingers, snapping pictures of she who has fallen. Ben acts nice and she wonders why. He admits he is relieved she made his sister see the light about Chad the cad. Kate sips her martini, having been stood up by Clyde who has a meeting, and has some advice for Ben. One should never underestimate a DiMera, like Chad, who may have his sights set on the fair Abigail again. DiMeras always get what they want ... Chad literally runs into Abigail again at the hospital. She is busy working late on the project. Chad charmingly praises her and promises the board will get her some help soon. She gushes she got the Jack quotes he emailed her and thanks him profusely. She intends to share them with the family. This means much. Chad smiles as she adds she is going rollerblading with Theo. He wishes her a nice time and disappears in the elevator with a wink and a twinkle. Chad is being the kind of guy he was when Abigail fell for him once upon a time and she is not unaffected ... Lucas wants to discuss the latest with Adrienne when he spies her at the square. She is agitated about Will cheating on Sonny. Lucas tries to make light of it. Ardent Adrienne is also upset about Justin going back to Dubai and his own cheating ways and lets Lucas know she does not even think they can be friends anymore. She woefully walks away. Lucas sighs ... At the town gate, Will gets angry at Paul for staying when he promised to get out of Salem! Sonny is exasperated ... At the apartment, Theresa cries over losing Clint. Then she gets herself in a pretty cocktail dress and decides to do something about it. Eve arrives and Theresa goes into full meltdown mode. She cannot shake her strange sense of loss ... Brady steps away to get something to clean up that broken glass. Mel is bothered and bewildered about the stolen blood, the link to Theresa ... Will exclaims Paul keeps coming after Sonny and keeps telling him he loves him! Sonny assures him he is not gullible. Will demands to know then why the secluded spot?! Sonny admits he did not want Will to know they were talking. Will gets even more insecure. He demands to know who made the phone call to set up the meeting. When he hears Paul phoned, he is further infuriated. Paul promised to go away! Sonny wishes Will would STOP! Paul decides to depart ... until John appears, keen to discuss a certain matter with all three. They wait and listen ... Brady wonders what is going on in Mel's fluffy red head. She seeks to piece together the puzzle, then questions her wisdom in ever engaging Theresa. Brady is relieved she appears to be letting the mystery go ... Cool John is pumped about the benefit for the great kids and was wondering if the club could supply the refreshments. Of course Sonny agrees. John is grateful and grins the benefit tomorrow also marks the first year wedding anniversary of Will and Sonny. An uncomfortable silence ensues. John teases about arranging a toast and goes on his happy way. Will pouts Paul will be present, celebrating their anniversary alongside them ... Maggie and Mel are scheduled to go shopping. Maggie senses the strain between Mel and Brady but Mel covers and they head to the pub. Brady believes Mel, that she is done digging but he is wrong. Perhaps one day he will thank her ... Abigail appears at the nightclub to meet Ben, who closes in an hour. He sits with his girl and notices her papers, then reads the Jack quotes, courtesy of Chad. Ben is miffed about his email, his girlfriend's gratitude ... Kate dines with Lucas at the square restaurant, lamenting her loss of the DiMera CEO position was unfair. Lucas muses she stole it from Stefano in the first place. Kate refuses to let it go. She slyly broaches the subject of Mad World. Lucas is pleased with his success at the company, which is too small potatoes for her now. Kate coos she has some ideas for improvements that could be made and lets him know she intends to tell Victor. Lucas is incensed she would actually try and go after his position at Mad World, so as to have bargaining power with Stefano, and storms off, utterly disgusted ... At the pub, pretty Maggie happily shows Mel her anniversary present to Will and Sonny - their wedding photo framed alongside their original wedding invitation. Tie an elegant and thoughtful gift and Mel admires it. Maggie now demands Mel come clean about the tension between her and Brady. Mel admits she cannot stop thinking about his stolen blood. She senses something big. Maggie agrees ... John ventures to the Kiriakis mansion to check on his boy. He is disappointed he did not bother to tell him about the attack. Brady assures him they are good and he is sorry he had to hear it from Abe but he had his reasons. John suggests they all have supper soon - Brady, Mel, John and Marlena. John and Marlena have been making marvelous progress. He peers at his son and ponders whether things are good between his son and Melanie. Brady gushes they are good and happy too ... Paul promises he is leaving Salem right after the benefit and discretely departs. Sonny cannot believe Will cannot deal with his ex being in the Salem area and suggests he is overreacting. Will exclaims Paul keeps trying to see him and keeps saying he loves him. Sonny is offended Will actually thinks him to be so weak and snaps HE was not the one who fell into bed with Paul, it was WILL! ... Abigail tries to ask Ben about his test. He gets his back up when he assumes she does not think he could have aced it, then demands an answer to his moving in question. The smile fades fast from her face ... Mel recalls to Maggie how tormented Theresa was with a baby rattle. She saw a sad, softer side ... Maggie is sympathetic for Mel's similar heartbreak, then gets a call from her own daughter Sarah. Sarah has been asked to be a surrogate, just as Maggie had one for her. Mel gets to thinking about Theresa and her false positive pregnancy and the surrogate equation. But she tells no one ... Abigail feels they would need to have that convo in private. Ben snaps she was too busy with Chad, who was scoring points with his Jack quotes. Abigail defends new improved Chad and adds at least he read the damn book. Belligerent Ben scoffs did EJ? Abigail is hurt. He starts to apologize and wants to go after her though a blonde waitress stops him. A customer is demanding to speak with the manager ... Chad is at a club table with solemn Sonny, upbeat about the good club numbers. He tells his partner the hospital board met tonight to change the blood bank policy after the scare they had when he needed blood. The DiMera suddenly stops and states he knows it was Paul Norita who donated blood for him! He jokes Sonny might be a good ball player now ...Sonny appears stunned at the news that t'was Paul who saved his life that fateful night. Chad notices, though he has no clue they even know each other. Sonny claims he is feeling fatigued. Chad suggests he cut his shift short and he will cover for him ... Paul woefully walks all alone in the park. He comes across Adrienne all alone on a park bench and apologizes for the way she found about about him and Will. Adrienne is aware he knew not who Will was. However, it both surprises her and concerns her that he is still in Salem. Will and Sonny must be left alone to make things work. Paul promises he is gone after the benefit he was asked to support. It was not his wish to cause problems for Sonny. He wishes he had known Adrienne once upon a time. Perhaps things would have been different ... Will storms into the apartment like a raging bull and sits at his computer. He starts to write the story that will spell Paul's ruin if he remains in Salem. The title he bangs out is cutthroat: Strike 1 Surgery Ends Career, Strike 2 Hiding in the Closet, Strike 3 he's a DIMERA! ... Mel heads home and gets on her computer, her notes by her side. Tis true that parents' blood samples can be used to predict possible medical problems for a baby .... Hormonal Theresa remains torn about missing something but what? ...Mel toys with the implications that someone may have stolen Theresa's fertilized egg for a surrogate. Too crazy to even consider ... Meanwhile miles away, a maternal hand lovingly rocks the cradle of a sleeping newborn infant. THE MISSING LINK! THE END! Ahead on Days JJ tells Dan what he did! Sonny seeks out Paul ... |
