Justin was not expecting this. The court gasps. JJ stares in horror as Lani cries. Justin has no more questions but JJ stands and yells he sure does ... Chad knocks on Abigail’s door in the Hong Kong hotel. No answer as she is sitting with Stefan in the restaurant, her brunette back to Hope. They flirt over the menu and she calls real Abigail a bore. Stefan likes having fake Gabi around. She suggests he have sea urchin an aphrodisiac. Hope watches and wonders if that is Gabi so she stands up to go see for herself ... Order in the court! JJ shouts. Lani weeps she did not want him to know. Eli approaches so JJ slugs him ... Stefan hastily sends fake Gabi back to the room and stops Hope, feigning surprise. She asks if she knows that familiar female he was with. Stefan pauses. The slick DiMera is always a step ahead ... Rafe stops JJ from attacking again and urges him to calm down. The judge threatens to clear the courtroom. JJ is found in contempt and Rafe is ordered to book him. Lani cries. Gabi cannot believe what is happening. Trask stands and suggests they continue. Justin has more questions for the witness. He gets clarification and concludes Lani and Gabi’s relationship was less than rosy so how can they trust what she said about her ... Stefan feigns innocence and states the woman who left was a contact from Hong Kong. Hope now wants to know where Abigail is as she heard she was also in Hong Kong. Upstairs Fake Gabi freezes at her door as Chad continues to knock, wondering where oh where his baby could be ... The D.A. objects for Lani’s feelings about the defendant are not known. The judge gives her permission to redirect. Trask reminds Lani that Gabi asked her to ignore her attempt to destroy evidence. Now comes the recess. Justin wishes Gabi had told him about that detail. Meanwhile Lani wants to see JJ but Eli stops her, wondering whether she will also confess the truth about the baby. She knows not ... Detained JJ paces as Rafe urges him to calm down and consider the circumstances. JJ realizes Rafe already knew. He feels like an even bigger fool. Rafe tells him Eli felt terrible. That is all he can say. He should ask Lani. JJ wants his answers right now. Lani appears and woefully promises to provide them ... Stefan states Abigail is resting from jet lag. He asks Hope how she knew they came on this biz trip together ... Fake Gabi hides her wig in her suitcase and dons a pale blue robe. Then she opens the door, pretending to be Abigail who just awoke from her nap. Chad kisses her and she acts surprised. He could not bear to leave her alone with Stefan. She feigns fear that Stefan will fire him for leaving his responsibilities so he states he will not let him know he is here. He came to help her and wants to be a team. He praises her and she gets a splitting headache as real Abigail fights to come back. She gasps as the battle wages within her head. Chad gets worried ... Rafe discreetly departs. JJ wants an explanation. Lani cries about Christmas Eve when she saw him with Gabi and assumed the worst. JJ reminds her the girl saved his life. She regrets not knowing that at the time. She believed they were through. JJ wants to know about Eli. They accidentally met at Marton House and she cried on his shoulder. How she regrets what happened and points out they were in pain. JJ accepts that. He feels partly to blame for them being apart. However he does not understand why she never came clean. Lani looks away ... D.A. Trask runs into Justin and taunts Gabi is going to jail. He begs to differ and reminds her her witnesses have not been good for her case. He warns she will be publicly humiliated with the loss and suggests she drop the charges. Trask smirks ... Back in the courtroom Eli assures Gabi that Justin is building a wall of doubt. She feels they need to find that woman who impersonated her on the footage ... Hope heard about things from Jen, who is worried about Abigail. Stefan makes light of it. Hope accuses him of being the same sly fox as Stefano, who pretended to be peaceful before a preemptive strike. She warns him if he was responsible for Andre he will pay and also have to explain himself to Abigail. Stefan gets sarcastic and asks about the Salem PD’s jurisdiction. Not that it matters for he is an innocent man. With that he walks away. Shawn wonders who that was so Hope enlightens him ... Fake Gabi gets control of Abigail again and accuses Chad of not trusting her. She hears Stefan step back into his adjoining room and urges Chad to leave before he is heard. He loves and kisses her and leaves. Stefan enters and asks who that was. Fake Gabi gasps Chad followed her here. Now what? ... Trask begs to differ. Justin warns she will never be able to prove that is Gabi on the footage. She cackles he even accused her of being the doppelganger and warns he would need another doppelganger to save Gabi ... Stefan updates fake Gabi on his run-in with Hope. She warns they will have to keep an eye on Chad as well now and worries about Hope, Shawn and Belle! This feels like little Salem. Stefan assures her he handled Hope and will do the same with Chad right now ... Chad catches up with Hope and Shawn who ask about Abigail. He suspects the Stefan stress is getting to her. Hope tells him of the mysterious dark haired woman Stefan was with. She might be in his room with him. Chad wants to go and check by himself as he thinks Stefan is unaware of his presence here. Hope urges him to proceed with caution ... Eli assures Gabi that Chad will find the woman in the footage! She wishes he and Abigail were here to support her. He thinks they have a hot lead. Justin returns and announces they have to clear the courtroom. Eli escorts her to the station ... Back at the station JJ demands to know why Lani kept her secret. She weeps she was worried about him. JJ suddenly does the math and worriedly asks if she is having his baby. She cries big tears and gives him a guilty look ... Stefan suggests fake Gabi sit tight for he will handle Chad ... Downstairs Shawn notices the annulment papers on Hope’s table. She sighs soon she will have to face Rafe and she knows what she will do ... Rafe informs Justin that JJ is now with Lani ... JJ remembers how Lani had wanted to abort before telling him she was with child. He suspects he was never the father and she knew it. Lani breaks down ... Fake Gabi paces in her room and taps her dark nails. Then she gets her bag and slips out ... Back at the station Justin asks Rafe about Hope. Rafe admits they are already married as they eloped before the scandalous almost ceremony. He assumes she is done with him ... Hope informs Shawn she will show Rafe the annulment papers. Shawn notices they are unsigned ... Eli and Gabi get back to the Salem station and find out from Rafe that JJ and Lani are alone. He assures his sister it will be alright but Gabi thinks not ... Lani hates lying. JJ anxiously asks for the truth. She tells him it is Eli’s baby as Gabi and Eli open the door ... Far away in Hong Kong, fake Gabi is frantic to get back into Stefan’s suite. Chad comes up behind the familiar dark haired beauty and watches. Dramatic drums play ... STAY TUNED! |
