There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Ciara dances and drinks at her birthday bash. Hope enters and stops the fun by turning off the music. She orders everyone out. Ciara has dropped the bottle to the floor. Friends Claire and Theo stay. Theo offers to clean up the mess. Claire goes to pick up the presents. Hope perceives her teen daughter is in pain ... Lani and Shawn are chowing down by the square, enjoying their time together. She is sorry Belle saw them kiss but he is not. In fact, the only issue he has with Phillip as her suitor is his daughter Claire. Lani smiles in relief and leans over the table for another kiss ... Steve joins Joe and Kayla with Roman at the station. He demands to know what is going on. The commissioner casually claims they were talking about his case. Joey exclaims he confessed to killing Ava. Steve exclaims his son did not do it , Ava was already dead when he came in. He tells Roman he just wants to cover up for HIS crime. Roman drawls he does not intend to arrest Joey, who looks disappointed and protests. The commissioner gets cross. He waves a finger at the young man and refuses to ruin his life. As far as he is concerned the Ava story began with Steve and will end with him as well. Kayla breathes a sigh of relief ... Phillip escorts Belle home. She assures him she was not bothered by the sight of Shawn kissing another so they kiss again. He enters with her and she gasps what is the matter to Marlena, who is in tears waiting. Phillip discreetly departs and heads for the pub. He needs a drink ... Ciara cries to her mother she feels sick to her stomach not from the booze but from what Chase did. Hope is so sorry and softly states she should speak with someone. Ciara snaps nothing would help. She is torn over having to go to trial, also fearful the attacker she once dared to like will recant his confession. Hope assures her that will not be the case and praises her for her strength. Ciara snaps if she had been strong she would have killed Chase. How she wishes she had! Hope gets choked up about not being able to get over murder. Ciara's eyes widen and she wonders with interest whether her mother has ever killed. Hope gasps they do not do as the DiMeras. But she then freezes and flashes back to that fateful day she shot Stefano DiMera dead ... Belle wants answers from Marlena about what is the matter. The blonde in black admits she and Arianna were abducted and updates her on how John was snatched after Ed got shot. He was taken by the terrible organization he traced to his past. She is waiting for word from Rafe and intends to rescue him with Steve and Rafe. Belle tells her she cannot go due to the danger but Marlena's mind is made up. She is going to help bring John home and no one is going to stop her! Outside, Claire confides to Theo she should not have sung that sad song for Ciara. Theo reminds her only rotten Chase is to blame. He hopes her mom will be able to make her better. He cannot get the image of her kissing him out of his mind. He just wants his best friend better. They discuss whether they should go back inside. Claire catches sight of Shawn with Lani and laments she had no idea her dad was dating ... Joey explodes over not being taken seriously and takes off, threatening to confess to another cop ... Belle calls her mother's idea crazy. Marlena gets her black leather jacket on and counters she has experience dealing with hostage situations. No one and nothing will change her mind ... Steve follows Joe all the way to the dark park. Joey is in tears about making his father go away. Steve is in tears as well, feeling he was not the father he should have been all those years he was away. He is to blame for letting Ava into their lives. He implores the young man not to break his mother's heart and explains he needs to help a friend get out of a jam. He should not be gone long but needs him to lie low and speak to no one about what he said earlier. Joe promises for his mother's sake ... Kayla cannot thank Roman enough for sparing her son. His only regret is they did not put Ava in prison when they had the chance. He drawls there are different ways in the world of getting justice ... Hope is ready to take Ciara home ... Roman and Kayla know there are trying times ahead. Steve is facing a trial and there is no telling how long Joey will be haunted by what he did ... Steve emotionally praises his son for protecting the family from Ava. He calls him a good man, gives him a hearty hug, and woefully walks off into the night ... Marlena looks like a spy and now she talks like one too. She will only reveal she should be back with John by morning. Belle cries what if she does not return? Marlena tells her to keep the faith ... Phil is drinking alone at the pub. Roman walks in and sits down for a shot. Phillip muses must be a rough night. The commissioner counters he has seen better. Phil gets sarcastic about the Salem P.D. Roman warns him he has his eye on him. He is aware that he is dating Belle, who is still family. Phillip acts innocent. Roman alludes to him being in the pocket of Deimos Kiriakis, throws back his shot, and saunters out. Phillip starts to sweat ... Steve goes back to Kayla at the station. She informs him she covered up to Stephanie. He informs her he swore their son to secrecy ... Jade runs into stressed Joey at the square. She complains about the bash being busted by the party girl's mother. He complains about his confession being a bust. Seems all he can do right these days is kill people. Laughter follows. Jade now murmurs he sounds like a dangerous mafia type and teases him to take her on a date. Then she gives him a seductive kiss, smiles, and walks away. Joey stands and stares, mesmerized like a hot blooded male... Theo and Claire return inside the Edge. Hope solemnly states she will have to tell their parents about the party. She now asks who supplied the booze. The bartender said he did not. Ciara will only say it was someone her mother does not know. Hope will discuss this later. Ciara, having lamented she did not like staying at Jen's house, where she was attacked, asks to spend the night with Claire. Agreed. When Claire picks up some presents, Theo and Ciara end up momentarily alone. She apologizes for kissing him. He did not mind. Once she goes, Hope thanks the young man for calling her and caring about her daughter. He agrees he does. He really does ... Super spy Marlena slips out in her black leather jacket, drawling to Belle she will come home with her dad. But Belle is a wreck ... Steve is about to get his go ahead from Rafe. He tells sweetness he loves her and passionately kisses her. She whispers he better come back and his eyes too fill with tears of torment ... THE END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Do or Die Time! |
