Nicole is annoyed to catch new hire Xander with a girlie magazine. He learns she is madder at Sami than him ... Elvis wants an explanation. He finds out Lucas wants to stay at the mansion and suggests tis to be close to Kate. He wonders why Samantha was against it. She claims cos of him. Both guys look puzzled ... Chloe is pleased as punch that Phil has arranged a video chat with Parker at camp. Brady comes in to talk biz in private, pointing out Phil is a competitor. Phil politely reminds Chloe he is here for her and exits. Chloe is now horrified to hear Nicole has hired Xander ... Xander is only interested in lunch so Nicole warns if Sami ousts her he will lose his job as well. He concludes it cannot be hard to turn the tables on train wreck Sami. Tis a pity she did not cheat. Then again maybe she did ... Confident EJ assures Samantha no need for concern. He has no issue with Lucas living in the mansion ... Kate lays it on thick as chimes of change are heard. She removes the sunglasses and acts insecure. Jake disagrees with making love now. She woefully assumes he wants Gabi again. He promises she is his past. She makes a declaration of love and hopes he feels the same ... - Gabi rages Kate should return to her own room. Chad enlightens her on the new houseguests. She is stunned to hear Sami and EJ are back ... Lucas bitterly notes he and Sami are not crazy kids anymore. Sami hyperventilates about her happiness with EJ and refuses to let rude Lucas ruin the atmosphere. EJ sides with Lucas and praises him for caring about mama Kate ... Xander reasons Sami cheated with Rafe before and wonders whether it happened again. Nicole knows Rafe is into Ava. When she mentions Lucas being another irrelevant ex, Xander tells her of their tension down in the wine cellar ... Brady believed he owed Nicole a favor, who argued Xander had Gabi Chic insight. He sensed she had no choice, hence the hiring of Xander ... Nicole laughs about Lucas and Sami always clashing. Xander feels the fireworks are still there ... Sami snaps manservant Harold said the mansion was full. EJ makes an exception for family. Lucas backs off but is grateful. Sami glares. He adds Roman offered a room over the pub and alludes to Bradys being in the family for life. EJ excuses himself to the living room in time to hear Gabi growling to Chad that EJ did not get her green light to move in. He calmly states this was his home way before hers ... - Jake suggests Kate rest. She praises him for being her rock and begs him to hold her before he goes. Then she drags him onto the bed and fake flails ... Brady promises to keep Xander far from Chloe at the company. Here comes nurse Phil with her meds and a suggestion Brady scram. Brady boldly refuses ... Gabi reminds EJ the mansion is now hers. He agrees, apologizes and appeals to her to let him and Samantha stay. They were always altruistic. Gabi says yes and gushes he can get to know Jake. EJ humors her and asks for a word with brotha Chad ... Sami wants Lucas to leave. She wants to make her marriage with EJ work. Lucas boasts he is best for her and heads to Kate’s room ... Xander paints a picture of affairs in the DiMera wine cellar. Nicole realizes he could be right about Sami and Lucas ... Sami flashes back to her affair with Lucas while sitting on the infamous DiMera staircase. Here comes Gabi. Sami admits she was not expecting EJ to want them to live here. Gabi has still not forgotten how Gabriela’s grandma helped her with Nick and lets her know she can trust her. Sami confides she was hoping to return to Italy instead of staying in Salem with its distractions. Gabi complains about Jake having to help Kate get settled. She too had her own high hopes ... Lucas comes to Jake and Kate’s room. She praises Jake’s devotion. Lucas adds Chad, EJ and Sami are here at the mansion for her too. Jake hates hearing about EJ ... EJ calmly asks Chad whether he is prepared to pick up where Stefano left off with the DiMera empire ... Phil has concerns about Brady overworking recovering Chloe ... Brady tells her he is here to drive her to work when ready. Chloe smiles and agrees. After he goes Phil senses the songbird’s stress and senses Brady is scheming. Chloe denies he pressured her. Phil heard differently and she deduces he did listen to their conversation ... Sami is sympathetic with agitated Gabi and realizes she is right. Someone is going to get hurt. Gabi refuses to be that person and leaves to stop siren Kate. She wishes Sami luck with EJ. Sami sighs she needs it ... - Nicole and Xander discuss exes, whether one is ever really over them ... Chad must confer with the fair Abigail before deciding to step up for EJ at DiMera. EJ understands. Here comes Sami and he kisses the spouse he assumes is now on the same page ... Jumpy Jake goes to see about EJ and Sami. Kate cannot wait for him to return. Gabi is waiting in the hall and he admits Kate made a move. She hisses not to stay with her but Jake is more bothered by EJ’s presence ... Phil admits he heard Basic Black hired Xander. Chloe believes she should help boss Brady. Phil slyly suggests she join him at tranquil Titan ... Kate assures Lucas she is going to be alright ... Jake is perturbed EJ might be back to make a play for DiMera ... As Sami pours her coffee, Chad confirms to EJ he will speak with Abigail and politely departs. EJ loves being back at the mansion with his beautiful wife and she smiles about their memories. He talks new beginnings and kisses her. She kisses him back and he holds her. Then she starts to cry ... Nicole notes Xander has no proof. Xander begins with the end in mind.
