Ben gazes at Ciara, grateful he has her. She confesses her whole family freaked out about her hanging around a serial killer. He is not sure about his past or his future ... At the square John and Marlena discuss Brady and Eric getting over Nicole. Marlena has her doubts about the brothers and recalls how Kristen DiMera came between them once upon a tragic time ... Guilt ridden Brady stops Eric from leaving and remembers ordering Nicole to tell Eric she never cared. Eric turns. Brady wants to say ... it is about Nicole ... Eve alludes to knowing the whole truth about Nicole and warns Jen it would change everything. After all, Nicole still loved Eric when she left town. Brady blackmailed her over Deimos' murder! Now she has Jen’s full attention. Jen is shocked to hear Nicole killed Deimos. Eve explains she had been drugged and Deimos did threaten her. A few weeks later Brady found out. He kept the secret until she decided to leave him. Then he recorded her confession and threatened to have her arrested if she did not convince Eric she was not in love with him. Jen shakes her shaggy head when she hears Nicole still did love Eric when she left ... Brady stammers he could not think straight when he heard Nicole was choosing Eric over him. He was consumed with revenge and he wanted him to lose everything. He made it happen! Eric peers at him ... Kayla pays happy Salem patient Steve a visit in the hospital. He is in a hurry to return home. Tripp brought him a lot of celebrity mags. Kayla asks how Tripp is. Well. Especially since Ciara has moved back to the loft. Tripp even believes she might have seen the light about Ben and his dark side ... At the loft Ciara opens up to Ben about dealing with her own demons. She suggests he do the same but he thinks the whole town will never forget his soap sins. He would consider leaving town though Rafe and Hope ordered him to remain until the fire investigation is over. She urges him to prove his innocence with the lawyer she got him. He wonders what if they cannot. Would she believe in him then? All of a sudden Hope bursts in, gun drawn, and growls to get away from her daughter ... Ciara stands up and yells at her mother to drop the weapon. She is fine! Rafe comes in and quietly pushes Hope’s gun down. Ciara demands to know what she is doing there. Claire came to warn the cops Ciara had opened her door to a serial killer. Ciara snaps Claire clobbered Ben with a frying pan, hence her insistence he stay. He was dizzy. Ben watches in silence ... Steve and Kayla liken Tripp and Ciara’s situation to his and hers once upon a time. They kiss and Adrienne enters. Steve compliments his baby sister and they smile, glad to see each other ... Eric advises Brady not to blame himself for lashing out at Nicole. He never made her leave Salem. Besides it was the best thing that happened to him! Brady wonders. Eric notes if Nicole really loved him nothing could have made her leave. Brady begs to differ ... Jen wants to know how Eve knows such things. Eve admits it started with Theresa’s attorney implying Brady killed Deimos as he had the amulet in the end. She found out the truth from Brady but he would not throw Nicole under the bus so she opted for a plan B. She knew not Victor would actually plant drugs and JJ would take the heat. Jen sighs Brady and Theresa would have settled for joint custody if not for her meddling. Brady deserves to know this and if Eve does not tell him then she will! Eve begs her not to. Jen is not listening so Eve warns her she would stand to lose Eric ... Chez Brady he assures Eric that Nicole did love him. Eric believes he is the best match with Jennifer and they are really in love! Brady accepts that ... John puts down his iced tea at the café. He believes it is best for the brothers that evil Kristen DiMera is gone. Marlena is concerned they did not find a body. Eerie music plays ... Adrienne reads part of her planned article about Steve’s bionic eye. He insists she include Kayla’s commitment. Kayla excuses herself. P.I. Steve is anxious to return to Black Patch. Adrienne has someone she would like him to track down ... Ben is able to count the finger Hope holds up so she decides he is alright. Rafe wonders what he was doing there in the first place and pulls him to his feet. He walks him to the door. Ciara demands to know where he slept last night. On a park bench. Hope sarcastically suggests a return to Statesville. Ciara gets worried ... John hopes doc does not think that Kristen will return. She admits she has had a strange feeling and is worried about their wedding. He promises a perfect wedding and kisses her ... Eric reasons Brady found Eve, plus he and Jen are in a good place. He asks Brady to leave the past in the past. Brady agrees. Eric reminds him he was not the one who did anything wrong and thanks him for his forgiveness. He departs and Brady considers ... Jen concludes Eve is blackmailing her. Eve feels if Eric found out the truth about Nicole he would go looking for her. She calls Jen his consolation prize and points out but he does not need to know. However, if she blows up her relationship with Brady she will be doing the same with her own love life. Exit Eve ... Adrienne asks Steve to find Bonnie Lockhart for what she did to her. The crooked broad who impersonated her and sent her to the slammer should be behind bars. Steve will do his best ... Blackmailed Jen numbly walks past the pub. Kayla comes out with chowder for Steve. Jen is happy he got his sight back and hugs her. Kayla heard JJ might have his suspension lifted. She asks Jen if everything is alright and wonders about Abigail. Jen fibs everything is fine and Kayla goes on her way ... Marlena goes down the RSVP list and sighs to John they have not had a reply from Sami. She wishes she would be here for their wedding day. John suspects the cloud of Hope and Rafe’s wedding could be a factor ... Hope protests Ciara trying to help Ben. Ciara protests right back and exclaims she is an adult. Ben assures the girl it is going to be okay and glumly goes with Rafe. Ciara wishes her mother would trust her judgment. Hope worries her kind heart will lead to trouble if she lets Ben in. Ciara promises she will not do it again. Mother and daughter embrace and exchange I love yous. Meanwhile Rafe has arranged for Ben to stay in a shelter. He suggests he stay off the streets and away from those he has hurt. He is not buying his I have changed bull and believes not he was cured. Ben starts to speak so Rafe silences him. Ciara is like a daughter to him and if he goes near her again he will make him regret it ... Bothered Brady greets bothered Eve when she returns to their suite. She sadly states she saw Ben, who reminded her of the day Paige died. She could have killed him! Matter of fact she almost did but then Hope and Rafe arrived. Brady hugs her in support and is sorry. He tells her he talked to Eric today and they cleared the air about Nicole. She wonders how much he said. Not any details as Eric did not want to discuss anything in depth. Probably just as well. Eve alludes to it being for the best for all. Brady is bewildered ... Kayla surprises Steve with a bowl of Brady pub chowder. He teases to take him home. She finds the notebook Adrienne left behind on his bed. Steve grins for her article she is going for a romance angle. She likes the sound of that and they kiss in bliss ... John sneaks a kiss from Marlena at the square. He knows she wishes Sami would attend their wedding. She feels the whole family should surround them so he suggests she call Sami to speak those same words. Marlena makes the call and gets voice mail. John murmurs to tell her so she does. She hopes she can make their wedding. It would not be the same without her darling daughter ... Eve stammers she is simply relieved Eric did not go after Nicole again, as it would lead to no good. Brady agrees it is best his brother never know, even though he wanted to clear his conscience ... Assuming she is alone outside, Jen raises her eyes to the heavens and asks God what she should do.
