At the town square John and Marlena look serious. They are on a mission and will meet back here. She notes then they will know the answer. He kisses her and wishes her luck. Marlena is now on the move ... Steve ends a call with Tripp, telling him he is upbeat about the bionic eye taking if not today then tomorrow. Kayla comes in and they try again. She proceeds to remove the bandages as Patch patiently waits ... Eric is stunned at the pub when Jen shares her update on Kevin, whose son has hefty medical bills. She agreed not to get him in trouble if he called JJ’s boss to get him his job back. Eric reminds her they remain unaware of the person who planted those drugs to influence the custody outcome. Jen is still on it ... Brady unhappily wakes up to Eve with Cubs tickets he had gotten with his son in mind. Eve suggests he call him ... Kate stirs and bids her lover lawyer a good morning but he is long gone ... Meanwhile Ted her lover lawyer slips another anonymous note under Will’s door with gloves on. Inside Will wakes up with Paul, who tells him he was tossing and turning. He teases he can take his mind off what is bothering him and they kiss ... Eric is relieved when Jen insists brother Brady was not the one who planted drugs on Theresa. Marlena arrives with a greeting for her son. Jen excuses herself. Mama Marlena wants to ask a favor of Eric that could be complicated ... Brady has called Tate in California, promising to take him to a ball game soon. Eve is glad and admits she has something for which to apologize. Before she can elaborate ... Knock knock! Tis John. Eve goes to get dressed. Bathrobe Brady hands John the tickets for the ball game in Chicago. John gasps the greatest seats! Brady would rather not use them and suggests John go with Paul ... Will and Paul are now dressed and Paul offers to pick up the coffee. But then he spies the envelope under the door, picks it up and wonders. Will snatches it away and claims it is confidential info from a secret source. P.I. Paul starts to get suspicious of the story. He fears Will is headed for trouble again ... Brady laments to John he feels lost without little man Tate. John gets it and reminds him he will be back soon. He calls him a great dad. Brady smiles he learned from the best. John is glad to hear it cos he now needs a favor ... Marlena's late father alas is not available to walk her down the aisle. Eric would be honored. She has something to add to the request ... Ted returns to fully dressed Kate and pretends he went out to get her a peace offering. She sets aside the bag and reminds him of her worry for Will. He believes Ben deserves to be defended. Kate calls him loyal and that is a quality she likes in a man. She wonders where oh where Leo went. Ted calls his vanishing a blessing and suggests they celebrate. She likes the sound of that ... Kayla asks what Steve can see. Nothin. He sighs and she waves light over the bionic eye. Still no luck. She suspects there could be swelling around his optic nerve. Give it time. He wishes he could have seen her reaction to what awaits in the cabinet over the sink. Kayla goes to see. She loves the yellow roses that mark their anniversary and they kiss in soap bliss ... Chez Brady John mentions the wedding plans. Paul will be giving a reading. He explains Marlena considers Brady a son and would love him to walk her down the aisle. Brady brings up Eric, the other son. Meanwhile, with Marlena, Eric asks about Brady. Marlena believes it would be a step in the right direction for the battling brothers. Back with John, Brady sighs it is not such a good idea ... After the lovin Ted wants to take Kate to breakfast but she fears Stefan seeing them together could spell trouble. Ted wants to go public and praises his beautiful woman. She thinks they could pretend to meet for the first time and go on a date to avoid any conflict. Ted agrees to play her game ... for now anyway ... Will stammers he has to get the story done and suggests Paul not return with coffee cos he is a distraction. When he goes Will reads the new anonymous note, which accuses him to lying to Paul about what he and Sonny did. Will gasps noooooooo not agaaaaaaaain ... As country music plays in the background Eric warns Marlena that Brady would not be ready to co-walk her down the aisle with him. He blew him off when he tried to talk to him about Theresa so the ball is in his court ... John knows about the bad blood because of Nicole leaving Brady for Eric but argues it would be the best wedding gift ever. Brady now agrees. Eve comes in and John gets a tear in his eye as he gushes his boy is giving him the best wedding gift. Brady and Eric are gonna walk Marlena down the aisle for her and John’s final wedding ... At the pub stressed Sonny reads the new “I know what you did” note and whispers to Will the security company only found their fingerprints on the first note. Will deduces they are dealing with someone who can cover their tracks. Sonny wonders what they want. Enter lawyer Ted. He asks to speak with Sonny. Dangerous drums play ... Paul runs into Kate at the square. He complains investigative reporter Will is busy working on his secret assignment. Kate mentions his new memories. Paul heard all about it. She is so pleased he remembered her saying she was there for him always. Will also said he loved and wanted to be with him, Sonny is his past. Paul alludes to Will not sharing everything and sighs secrets in a relationship spell the kiss of death. He wishes her a good day and walks away. Kate gets to thinking ... Sonny introduces Leo’s lawyer Ted to Will Horton. Ted has heard that name before but makes no mention of hearing it from paramour Kate. Instead he sarcastically states things are certainly looking up for Sonny since the lawsuit was dropped due to Leo vanishing. Sonny snaps is he implying he had something to do with it? Ted smoothly wonders whether he did. Sonny soap stares ... Mama Marlena muses Eric and Jen are getting along. He admits she always makes him smile and he loves her. Jen returns. Marlena excuses herself after they discuss the drama with Steve and the bionic eye. They are all hoping for the best ... Back at the hospital Kayla and Steve’s memory lane moment seems destined to be cut short when she is summoned by nurse Shelley. All of a sudden he calls her his lady in red. He can see her. Tis a miracle! Steve and Kayla are tearfully kissing when John and Marlena arrive. Steve teases John he can see his ugly face and Marlena’s beautiful one. His P.I. partner is officially back! Marlena suggests they celebrate. Dr. Kayla notes he needs to be checked out by the bionic engineer first ... Eric explains he discussed Brady with Marlena and the bad blood that began because of Nicole. Jen admits she just overheard him tell his mom that he loves HER. Eric now looks into her eyes and repeats he loves her. She admits she was holding back at first but he makes her so happy. She loves him right back. They kiss, blissfully unaware that Nicole and Jack are not exactly out of the picture ... Sonny insists he is innocent. Will scoffs it seems Leo got cold feet cos his case was absurd. Ted goes on his way. Sonny thanks Will for sticking up for him. However, he could see the suspicion in Ted’s eyes and it scared him ... Steve has left messages for his loved ones. Kayla explains the engineer is on his way. Steve feels the future looks bright with his baby. She produces his patch for the other eye and helps him put it on. He loves being Patchman again. She teases he is her one-eyed tomcat and he grins ... Kate spies John and Marlena smiling at the square and asks what happened. Steve got his sight back! Ted comes up and pretends Kate looks familiar. They introduce themselves to one another and act like it is the first time they have met ... Back at the pub, Will worries they know not what the person sending them notes will do next. Paul walks in and grimaces at the sight of them sitting and speaking so closely together ... Eric walks along smelling the red rose he bought the fair Jen. Eve happens by and makes a catty comment. Eric warns her that Jen is onto the person who planted the drugs. They will have a name soon. Meanwhile Jen pays Brady a visit with news. The child services worker was the one who planted those drugs on behalf of someone else, someone who loved Brady enough to bend the rules so he would win custody of Tate.
