At the hospital as Steve is busy working elsewhere, Kayla opens up to Val about her problems ... Marlena runs into Kate at the club, as she is waiting for Val, and brings up the rumor that she married Andre. Kate confirms it so Marlena concludes she lost her mind ... At dim Marton House Hope and Rafe arrive, wondering what Lani has. She hunted high and low and found a clue ... At the station, Sonny asks Raines what comes next. Processing with paperwork. Justin promises to have him released. JJ and also Adrienne protest with Paul as Raines cuffs Sonny ... In the garden Lani found a guest card from the Salem Inn. It is for Room 204, registered to someone calling himself Sam with dark hair, six feet tall. She already tried talking to the manager. Hope goes to have a crack at it herself. Rafe tells Lani she did good and he gets why she wants to help JJ ... Stressed sandwiching Anne summons Lucas to the pub. She states she has been all but running the Spectator herself for months! And now that Adrienne's son Sonny confessed to killing Deimos ... This is the first Lucas has heard of it ... Adrienne cries foul. Justin assures her he will help. Paul asks to go with Sonny. It is a request Raines cannot refuse. Sonny clasps his hands together and falls apart against Paul, sobbing his heart out ... Kayla questions herself. Val wishes she were not so hard on herself and invites her to join her quiet dinner with Marlena. Kayla considers ... Kate sips her martini and gets sarcastic. Marlena lists a few of Andre's misdeeds. Kate points out she needed his help with a problem and updates her on their necessary business arrangement. She is now the CEO of DiMera and will be so for the next 6 months. Marlena gets exasperated. Kate claims to have Andre under her control. Marlena certainly hopes she is not in love with the fiend. Kate acts like she is not but admits love in a marriage is highly overrated ... Lucas thinks Sonny confessing is nonsense. Anne complains about the conflict of interest, what with the juicy murder mystery to cover. Lucas goes running to Adrienne ... Sonny thanks Paul for being there. Always. Sonny fees awful for his mom. JJ storms in and is furious he confessed! No one knows what really happened that night. And he will not let him go to prison! Raines asks JJ to join him, to sign his release papers but stay in town. JJ plays along when he orders him to stay away from the case since he is now a suspect on paid leave. Raines steps away so JJ calls Lani with the news. He complains Sonny confessed but believes he is innocent! He wants to clear him. Lani lets him know she found something ... Justin assures Adrienne he will not let her or Sonny down. She emotionally embraces him. Enter Lucas. Adrienne would be lost without him! Justin vows they will be there for one another and their son. She agrees. Always. Now she notices Lucas, asks Justin to update him, and walks off to see her son ... Sonny states he could not let JJ go to jail. Paul believes in his heart of hearts that Sonny the good man who makes him a better man is no killer. Sonny gets emotional as he swears to stand by his side. Paul explains he saved him on the island and he will do whatever necessary to save him now. Sonny weeps on his shoulder ... JJ meets Lani at Marton house with a hug. She tells him about the Salem Inn room key that Hope and Rafe are investigating. JJ warns he has to investigate in secret consequences be damned ... Hope and Rafe are shown to Sam's room. He was said to be wearing a cap and sunglasses. The clerk refuses to try to ID the picture of Deimos shown on Hope's phone as he was not present when the person checked out in the morning. Hope realizes that was when Deimos was already dead and quietly claims to Rafe that could have been their killer ... Marlena enjoys her wine as she giggles about Kate getting married to Andre's father Stefano. Val and Kayla arrive and she suggests a ladies night. She alludes to all the drama so Kate suggests they spill their worst problem before they get started. Marlena goes first, frustrated that John's far away mission is delaying their romance and their wedding! Kate makes light of marrying a murderer. Kayla complains she could lose her medical license. Kate calls for two bottles of champagne. Marlena asks how it goes with Abe. Val gushes great! The champagne arrives and Kayla takes a deep breath ... Hope and Rafe search a hotel dumpster together. They need a clue on who was in Room 204. Hope wonders how Sam was able to avoid the security cameras. JJ arrives and Rafe tells him to jump into the trash to dig with them ... Paul lets Sonny know he will be outside as Adrienne arrives. She assures Sonny his father is raising hell to get him out. Sonny whispers he confessed but Adrienne knows he is no killer. He admits he did secretly wish Deimos was dead so who is to say he did not do the deed??? Back at the club the gals giggle and get tipsy together. The champagne flows freely. Kate brings up men so Marlena muses it is sad she did not marry for love. Kate states it is sad when marriages of love fall apart. Val muses there are good marriages and Marlena makes a joke. Kate teases her to be afraid of marrying John and drinks to the single doctors. Val has a question. Why did she just tie the knot again? Kate quips she wanted to break the town record. Marlena smiles Sami has that one covered ... Lucas is sorry about Sonny and offers to do anything, watch Arianna and anything else Justin asks. He asks him to take Adrienne elsewhere. He knows he can make her happy. Lucas agrees. He tells him to help Sonny and he will help Adrienne. Justin fears the situation is dire ... Sonny laments to Adrienne that when he had the amulet Deimos warned him he was like him. He felt hatred for him and remembers the rage he experienced when Deimos snatched away his Ramses amulet. He would have done anything! Adrienne blames the drugs but Sonny feels guilty as soap sin ... The gals cannot agree who should pay the bill but champagne lover Kate gets it. She wonders who has the saddest story and suggests whoever has the smallest problem should pay. They agree and laugh. All of a sudden the doctors are called to the kitchen for a little emergency. Marlena and Val are on their way ... JJ wants to question the clerk as he suspects he lied. Hope refuses to let him risk his career. But JJ is determined to save Sonny, whom he knows to be innocent ... Kayla and Val come back. The chef cut an artery and Kayla helped him before he headed to the hospital. Marlena praises Kayla the good doctor. Kayla feels lucky with her good girlfriends. And so they toast to friendship ... Lucas presents Adrienne with a huge milkshake at the pub. Afterwards they will go out on a boat and watch the sun rise on the lake. She has Sonny on her mind. Lucas tries to make her laugh. She gushes he is sweet and holds his hand. Anne appears and announces she will hold down the Spectator Fort. She will not print a story about her son being a murderer but suggests mom get the juicy jail scoop. Adrienne is aghast. Lucas advises Anne to go ... Rafe lets the gang know he has an idea on how they can get what they need ... Meanwhile Sonny is photographed, printed, and ordered to empty his pockets, remove his belongings. He woefully watches the envelope with his gold watch disappear from view. Justin hugs him. So does Paul. Sonny is now carted off to his cell and glances back one last time. Paul blinks back the tears as Justin raises his eyes to the heavens ... END! |
