Theresa and Mel berate Brady for brazenly butting into their business. He was concerned … No need to be! He explains he originally only came to get his papers. Fiery redhead Mel shoves them at him and the hellcats glare until he has gone … Abigail has just gotten dressed at Ben’s abode. Buff shirtless Ben complains about Chad the cad giving him a hard time by continually being at the club. They kiss in bliss and loverboy steps away to make himself presentable for the day. Abigail is off to work. She opens the door, only to come face to face with Clyde, who makes nice. He is eager about his boy beginning college and wanted to admire his new apartment as well. Abi lets him know how much it means to Ben that he presented him with his grandpa’s watch. He wears it all the time. Clyde calls Abi quite a catch and she innocently takes her leave. When Ben emerges, Clyde gushes his girl is mighty proud of him and so is he … At DiMera mansion, Jordan demands Chad tell the truth. Did HE get Rafe fired?! No though he sure got what he deserved! He smoothly states he suspects the secret he was keeping got him fired. He learned something about Mel’s abduction and said nothing. Others knew as well, but Chad says it must have been Sami who told Kate, who is to blame. Jordan takes it all in. She knows only too well how vindictive Kate can be and thus believes Chad’s version, especially when he mesmerizes her with his baby blues… Busy Will blows off Sonny and hangs up. Sonny sighs outside the club. Paul approaches, having heard he was looking for him. As per the bellboy, he came by New Year’s Eve. Sonny gets sarcastic about the big mouth bellboy, who also let him know that Paul was not alone. Paul points out the meeting he was having was purely professional. In fact, there has been no one since he came to Salem! He is hopeful that Sonny may have had a change of heart and is ready to reconcile … Hope is horrified that Aiden has actually admitted to threatening a woman, He takes her hand and suggests they speak privately … Once at the park, he proceeds to tell her the story of Brea, who made unsubstantiated accusations and harassed him like a woman obsessed. He had to let it slide and did not sue her only because the publicity would have been too much for his son to bear. However, he did obtain a restraining order. Hope is sympathetic, especially when he lets her read Brea’s obsessive, misspelled angry emails. Naturally she sides with her lawyer lover … At the town square café, Will confesses to Kate that by letting her have the first look at his unpublished article, he is in fact breaking his official confidentiality agreement. Kate has high praise for Will the sports writer, but there is something more to this story. Her words rich with innuendo, she suggests Paul is a powerful player, one with something to hide and THAT is the real story! Will thanks her for confirming what he too believed and gets an idea he is anxious to put into play … Theresa seems to have softened toward fellow spitfire Mel. She offers to get into Anne’s office and find the paperwork to fix her status. They can reconvene in an hour. Mel thanks her. Theresa now notes they were friendly when they first met and would like to start over. After all, they both have something in common – how they feel about Brady. Mel wonders what she means. Theresa cackles they both know that the billionaire heir is a zero, not a hero. Mel gets mad and rushes to his verbal defense. Theresa calls him a loser. Mel orders her to SHUT UP! So much for being friends … Mel storms off and Theresa tries to clear her head by going for a walk, which turns out to be more than she bargained for … At the house of Kiriakis, Brady is bothered and besotted by thoughts of Mel. Maggie appears and fears he needs another AA meeting. He assures her he has everything under control. It was nothing. Maggie suspects there was something. Brady gets to thinking … As it turns out, Sonny has not changed his mind one bit. Paul wonders why he wanted to see him and gazes into his eyes. Sonny sheepishly admits he was about to ask for a loan but has since changed his mind. He gets back to the topic of the talkative bellboy, who obviously knows his secret - and suggests Paul come out cos he is not fooling anyone anymore … Back at the park, Aiden announces he will do whatever he has to in order to protect his son from Brea’s harassment. He now shares his view that Hope also wanted to protect someone she cared about, which is why she withheld the secret she must have sensed Rafe was keeping. She takes care of those she cares about. That quality is one of the things he LOVES about her. Hope melts and they share a sweet kiss … Back at DiMera mansion, Jordan apologizes to Chad and assures him she no longer has any feelings for Rafe. Chad has all the right words, all the right moves, and kisses her … Jordan now gets concerned that Rafe sounded mad at Chad. He makes light of it and she gets going to her meeting with Abigail. The heir apparent feels he has everything under control … Paul gets closer and reminds Sonny of their connection. He can still feel it, which is how he knows something is very wrong. Sonny denies it and removes his hand from his arm. Paul emotionally lets him know if ever he changes his mind about getting back together … But Sonny feels Paul needs to move on and leaves him sadly standing alone … Sonny heads into the club to get to work. Ben arrives and Sonny scowls when he mentions the great New Year. Chad approaches and asks when Ben was going to clean a cluttered table. Ben blasts him for getting in his face again. Sonny snaps feel free to find a job somewhere else, then apologizes. Ben sighs he may have overreacted about the unimportant thing and gets to work. Chad lets stressed Sonny know he is on his side and casually offers him a loan. Sonny is certain he and Will are going to be able to rebuild their savings and mutters Will had better have something to show for all the hard work he has been doing … Kristen’s diabolical doctor gets a call from his patient (unseen unheard Kristen) and assures Miss DiMera that the tests were good. He adds he has been keeping an eye on the Theresa situation … Theresa arrives at the park and flashes back to being there one fateful night. She assumes her memory is a nightmare but gets the shivers. By the time Maggie runs into her, she is utterly spooked, makes a comment about winter feeling … dead, and goes back to the hospital, muttering Mel must not be kept waiting with her paperwork. Maggie’s eyes widen with worry … Mel appears at Brady’s home and apologizes. It is about last night. She talks a mile a minute about their bff status being at risk all because she has felt something more since his kiss. Brady tenderly tells her he feels the same way … Will pays Paul a final visit for a follow up. He wants another at bat. Paul muses pitchers and batters are on opposing sides and continues to play it cool. Will wants him to admit he is closed off and avoids showing his true feelings. Paul calmly claims what you see is what you get. But when Will asks if he is lonely … Then Paul remembers Sonny and sighs. In the past he was not lonely but that was then this is now. Will thinks a man like him should not be lonely. Paul stares Will squarely in the eye. Just what kind of man does he think he is? Complicated! Will has assured him that anything said here will be off the record, never printed, never repeated if that is what he wants. He has his word … At the nurse’s station, Jordan informs Abi how excited she is that their project is about ready for board approval. Kate makes a snide remark and warns the devil is in the details. Surely the anonymous donator would agree, no? Kate now steps away, pleased to be playing the game at Clyde’s request … Crooked Clyde summons his mountain man flunky to a secret meeting in the woods. He has big plans to go into the trucking business, up against one Victor Kiriakis. Clyde thinks he is on a roll … The demonic doctor assures Miss DiMera that Theresa Donovan poses no problem … Meanwhile back at the hospital Theresa finds a rattle on the floor and starts to shake and shake … Paul murmurs he knows Will wants to ask him something big. Will softly states is he gay? Paul observes him through his hooded eyes and wickedly wonders whether he thinks he is gay. Will meets his sly stare and stammers YES I DO ... THE END!
