Theresa is home alone, dreaming in black-and-white. It is the same dream, the one where she walks through the park ... She wakes up disheveled and starts to search online for what it means when one repeatedly dreams of walking through a park. It does not enter her mind that the dream is a lost memory. All she knows is that she has a sense of dread ... Knock knock! Tis man in black John Black. She is dismayed to see him. He drawls he is back in Salem for good and walks in the apartment to announce he is backing off Brady. She should do the same. Theresa snaps she is over them both and kicks him out. But the feeling of dread has still not left her ... Brady is about to leave the house of Kiriakis,on his way to drop off papers for the next hospital board meeting. Victor stops him with a belated Christmas gift bag that arrived late from Maggie to Melanie. Brady gets tense and tells the tycoon he has no intention of going to Mel's floor. The Greek grumbles it is a favor, not an unreasonable one to ask,and makes him take the bag ... At the hospital, Mel is a mess. First she got a notice in her mailbox from HR Anne that as she is a freelancer, she has no benefits! Maxine assures her it was a mistake but Anne is away today. It can be corrected by filling out a form. Mel shares her second dilemma when the senior nurse asks about her New Year's Eve. Mel muses there is a friend who seems to want to be more but she does not wish to risk the friendship. Her life always gets complicated. Maxine calls her a life force and recalls how her own husband and herself began as friends. Mel is intrigued... At the town square, Hope and Kayla discuss their respective New Year's Eves. Kayla's date was a dud, while Hope evidently enjoyed a wonderful time with Aiden. Kayla blurts out that Brea has been talking again. Hope gets defensive. Kayla explains apparently Aiden contacted Brea and issued her a threat, telling her to stop talking to Hope. The lady detective dismisses the gossip, is harsh with Kayla for even mentioning it and and angrily goes ... At the club, Sonny is stressed as ever. Will left before he woke up this morning and he leaves him a voice message, to please call so they can arrange for Arianna to see Gabi again. Why poor Gabi does not even know about brother Rafe being fired from the police department yet! Jordan overhears and cannot conceal her shock that Rafe has lost his law enforcement career. Sonny sighs he does not know the details and wonders whether Chad is still at the DiMera mansion. He must speak with him ... At DiMera mansion, a diabolical discussion is taking place. Stefano is smug that his sources shared Rafe's fall from grace. Chad the cad boasts he was the one who made it happen. The phoenix cackles, impressed with the heir apparent. Raphael is really finito in any kind of detective work. He now wonders about the other scheme. Chad the cad laughs Sonny's club dream has gone to hell just as they planned ... Rafe sits with attorney Aiden at the pub for an update. He suspects he is facing prison time. Nope. The legal eagle made the mayor and D.A. and governor's representative realize there could be bad publicity resulting from any investigation. The explosion deaths would come out again and it would be revealed that the explosions were the result of government negligence. He hands Rafe the agreement he has to sign. He must refrain from ever speaking of the matter and would be unable to return to any kind of investigative work, even as a private investigator, but would be spared from spending time in the slammer. Rafe signs with a sigh and thanks him. Aiden feels awful about him losing it all over a secret and texts Hope to meet him ... Chad cuts his call with Stefano short when he hears he has a visitor. As expected, tis Sonny, with a long face. He tells the sad story of using all the funds as well as his own money to save the new club but alas it was not enough. They cannot afford the new roof so all is lost. He apologizes and offers Chad his share of the club as per their agreement. Chad's reaction, however, catches him totally off guard ... Brady and Mel have an awkward moment at the hospital staff lounge when he hands her the gift bag. She thinks it is from him, then gets embarrassed when he points out the present is from Maggie. Mel gets flustered and excuses herself to hand out medicine. Brady is not quite himself either and accidentally leaves behind the envelope he had intended for the board ... Victor is on his phone, angrily advising his flunky to find out more about Sonny's problems and what he has heard from this source of a source. The Greek slams the phone down with a grimace ... At the club, Rafe quietly gets a coffee. Jordan approaches to let him know how sorry she is about the loss of his career. Rafe is glum and laments he loses everything that means anything to him. She innocently asks what he will do now that he has been fired from the Salem P.D. Victor enters and snaps what the hell! He vows to call that "idiot" Roman Brady to set him straight. Rafe appreciates it. However, he is rather uncommunicative about the done deal, having been sworn to silence, and takes his leave ... He has somewhere to go, someone to see ... Chad charmingly likens Sonny to Ford the young entrepreneur who failed many times before succeeding. He assures him he is the brains behind their business and still his partner and bff. Sonny is moved and hugs him in gratitude. Chad slyly states perhaps next time they should think even bigger ... Hope has joined Aiden at the pub. She has the deepest sympathy for Rafe upon learning he cannot even be a security guard. Aiden feels awful. Hope notes secrets wreak havoc. Aiden suspects she has something on her mind. The detective does not deny it ... Theresa is at work at the hospital. Maxine asks her to help Mel with the form she needs to change her status from freelance to full-time. She directs her to the lounge ... Mel has found the envelope Brady left behind. She gets anxious when Theresa comes in, unaware Maxine had sent her. Theresa asks about the envelope. Mel overreacts. Theresa snaps she will not help her with the form given how rude she is. Mel snaps right back ... Brady meets with John at the town square. John updates him on his visit with Theresa. Brady appreciates his effort but is rather distracted, desperately searching for the envelope he seems to have lost ... Sonny profusely thanks Chad and leaves for the club. He owes him! Once alone, Chad smugly states he sure does owe him ... Brady enters the lounge just as Theresa and Mel face off. calling each other beaches. He stands between them and orders them to break it up, playing the role of the referee. Needles to say,neither Mel nor Theresa take well to being told what to do. They glare at him in unison and scream to GET OUT. Sonny is back at the club with a smile on his face. Victor awaits but the Greek is not smiling. He wishes his nephew would see Chad for the dastardly DiMera he really is. Sonny points out HE would not even help him with the roof funding. The Greek glowers it was a bad investment. Sonny is on a high that Chad thinks highly of him and is still his friend. He refuses to believe he is playing him and steps outside to take a call from Will ... Back at the mansion, Chad is on the phone with Stefano, who reminds him to stay the course even though he considers Sonny a friend. He wants his son to use his newly found leverage when the time is right ... Chad ends the call when he hears the arrival of one he has been expecting - Rafe! The mini Stefano rubs in his predicament and plays innocent when Rafe accuses him of sending the anonymous letter that ruined his career. Rafe leers now that he is no longer beholden to the law, all bets are off in this war. He storms out,not noticing Jordan. Jordan storms into the study and confronts Chad. Is it true? Did he get Rafe fired?! Outside, Sonny speaks on the phone with unseen unheard Will. He implores him to listen cos this is important. He realizes he is busy but they must make arrangements. The connection ends and Sonny is utterly exasperated. Someone seems to walk towards him ... Sonny's eyes widen ... John has an update for Victor at the town square. Theresa no longer poses a threat to Brady. Victor agrees those two are truly done ... Kristen DiMera's demonic doctor sits at his desk, remembering giving an injection to drugged Theresa after confirming she was pregnant. It troubles him that she talked and appeared half awake at the time. Much is at stake. He takes out his phone and toys with the notion of telling Kristen ... Hope wonders why Brea would lie that Aiden issued her a warning, not to speak to her again. Ominous music plays as Aiden confirms cos that is precisely what he did ... THE END! Ahead on Days: Will tries to turn the tables on Paul! Brady and Mel stop fighting the feeling! Theresa is troubled ... |
