There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Chad and Abigail step into the hospital elevator together. She is surprised to see him and also surprised he knew not of the big Salem car crash. Her mom was involved and that is why and how she is here. He hopes her mom is alright and explains he came to have the paternity tests done. He coldly claims to want to end the madness. Abigail solemnly states he is the father and presses the elevator button so the door closes. They ride the elevator together in strained silence ... Roman has heard no good news about Eric from the doctors and gets extremely agitated. He exclaims there must be something they can do and storms out of his son's room. John now wonders what Marlena thinks. She sighs in her sorrow and weeps he is sleeping like a baby. John's heart is breaking for her ... At the same moment, Theresa weeps at sleeping Brady's side ... Nicole weeps at deceased Dan's side and looks at her wedding invitations that now will never be. She laments it would have been the best day of her life and breaks down, unable to let go of her love ... Maggie feels the pressure of her choice. She asks Dr. Finn to tell her there is another way. There is not for alas Daniel is gone. Kayla patiently points out the only way to ensure either Eric or Brady receive the emergency transplant is to take action now. Otherwise the national donor registry will swoop in and give Dan's noble heart to an unknown name at the top of their list. Victor grumbles with displeasure but deduces Dr. Kayla is putting her professional position on the line. Maggie weeps and woefully takes the form requiring her signature. Brady needs a heart as does Eric, though Eric could also be given a high risk antibiotic with side effects! Maggie now goes to see Dan one last time. She hugs Nicole, who gives mother and late son a moment alone ... The Salem brat pack has broken into the club to party, unaware of the sad news in Salem. They are disappointed to discover the liquor is all locked up. Ciara and Claire start to discuss their respective dramas with their moms until the guys break it up. They liven things up with a game of truth or dare. During said game Ciara the bully-turned-protector lets it slip that good friend Theo is being bullied. They agree to be his superheroes. Chase quietly downs his soft drink. The gang also learn that Joey is in love with an unnamed woman! In the end they drink to the new year, unaware of the tragedy taking place outside the closed club ... Jen is in pain in her hospital bed. JJ returns with tragic news. He found out that the now unconscious Eric was drinking and driving and that is what caused the car crash. Jen gasps in horror, then breaks down upon hearing Brady is also unconscious and Daniel the good man has died. Her face turns red and she gasps with grief ... After Chad has given the necessary blood for his test, he acts as cold as ice, still claiming he is not the father. Abigail is informed that Thomas is now better and the doctor believes it may have been no more than a viral infection. Chad smells a setup. Abigail insists on taking him to see Thomas. He still feels it is an exercise in futility as he is not the father. Despite his slowly returning flashbacks of being with Abigail and holding her baby, he stands suspiciously by the door. She takes Thomas in her arms and ignores his hesitation ... Theresa tells Brady how Tate pulled his little self up enough to take some steps around the table. She begs him to come back to them amid her tears for they need him ... Maggie breaks down at Dan's bedside and weeps for losing him so soon. She is grateful for the time they did get together and laments she is at a loss regarding the choice she must make. If only the son she is so proud to have known could advise her ... Victor gets off his phone and informs Kayla there are no hearts available, though he did try though his own channels. Kayla is already aware of it. He praises her for her tenacity and must now go tell Maggie that the time has come ... Victor finds the redhead in the chapel. She weeps, still at a loss. Her dilemma is that she wants Daniel's noble heart to go to he who needs it the most. She could not bear to make Victor lose grandson Brady, but how to face Marlena if she let her son die??? The Greek growls to leave it to the fates. Maggie sighs the fates could take both boys. Victor has no answer to that ... Abigail urges Chad to look at his son. He is still in denial. The doctor arrives with a smile. She declares Mr. DiMera IS the father. He also shares the same marker for a blood disorder as the baby. It is not anything to worry about at the moment. The doctor leaves and Abigail lovingly hands stunned Chad his sweet gurgling son ... Marlena is reading something on her iphone. John asks what it is. She informs John and Roman it is the protocol of that risky antibiotic that could help Eric's heart. She could not bear it if he never opened his eyes again. John soap stares and silently decides what he must do to make things right for everyone ... Maggie remains torn and troubled. She would rather not play God. Determined Dr.Kayla arrives requesting her signature. They are running out of time as the heart cannot be kept for much longer. All of a sudden John Black the hero emerges and announces she need not sign. Now he has their full attention. He dramatically declares is giving up his own heart for his son. He will be Brady's donor ... Chad is holding tiny Thomas in his arms. Abigail tenderly tells him his son is family and needs him. Chad looks into the baby's now open eyes and KNOWS! THE END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Chad comes back from being brainwashed! Vigilante Hope is not done yet. Nicole bids Daniel goodbye. |
