There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... A dark cloud of deep sorrow hangs over Salem for this is the day of Dr. Dan's funeral and burial. Nicole sobs at his apartment alone, as she reads online that Eric made bail. She is about to break her tablet when someone knocks at the door. Tis Parker with a hug along with Chloe. Nicole feels happier already ... At Horton house, Jen can hardly move in her black dress. She is determined to honor Dan with her presence despite the back pain. JJ makes up an excuse about having class and takes off. Jen is relieved when Abigail goes after him. Sister Abi soon finds him alone at the park, seated near an expanse of white flowers. She knows for a fact he has no class at the police academy. JJ confesses he cannot go as memories of his father's funeral are still raw. He feels lousy for how he lashed out at Daniel afterwards. Abigail assures him she is here for him and suggests he would miss not attending. The first part of letting go is to honor the dearly departed. JJ hopes she will help him get through this terrible time and the siblings hug each other tight ... Meanwhile, back at Horton house, Jenny gets out her PILL bottle ... Parker scoots into the fort he made for Dan and starts to cry. Chloe asks what is the matter, then notes maybe Nicole can help. Confused Parker knows not what the rules of a funeral and service are. Nicole tells him there are no rules. Chloe suggests he bring something to remember Dan by. Parker promptly gets his stethoscope ... Theresa is at Brady's side and he is set to be released. The handsome Salem patient is being pushed in a wheelchair by the handsome Dr. Fynn. Victor appears and growls Brady is going home with him. He trash talks Theresa to her face. Brady finds the strength to stand and steps away for a word with Victor. He lays down the law and exclaims BACK OFF. Point taken. Brady is soon sitting at the cozy home Theresa has made for them, thinking of the funeral. He realizes Theresa might be uneasy about attending and understands, given her past with Daniel. Theresa is reduced to tears as she remembers how she tormented the good and noble medicine man once up a time what she was a terrible person. If only she could change things. Brady feels they should attend together ... At the Kiriakis mansion Mel is helping Maggie get ready. Maggie weeps over the necklace she is wearing, which Dan gave her for mother's day. They cry and hug each other for support in their stylish black dresses ... The guests slowly stream in for Daniel's memorial at the club. So many dark suits and dresses in Salem. Brady shares a silent embrace with Mel and steps away with Theresa. JJ is solemnly seated with Jen ... On his way Fynn stops and stares at a scene unfolding at the town square ... Fynn arrives as Victor takes the floor. Nicole woefully watches from her seat with Chloe and Parker nearby. John and Marlena are elegant and together as always. Roman sits with them, hanging his head as Victor recounts how hard and senseless it was to lose Daniel the good. Marlena has tears of torment in her eyes, John at her side. The Greek godfather invites loved ones to stand and say what Daniel meant to them. Maggie is first. She feels cheated for losing Dan but smiles she will always see him in her grandchildren Melanie and Parker. She was so proud of her son. Jen cries she wishes she could have saved his life the way he saved hers. She believes she was blessed to have him as her friend. Chloe cries that Maggie and Melanie, as Daniel's family, will always be her family. She promises to keep him alive in Parker's heart. Brady gives a heartfelt speech about literally having Daniel's heart and emotionally informs his family he will never forget him. Mel explains she will never forget to ask herself what her dad would do in any situation. JJ credits Dan for believing in him and helping him become who he is today. He will always be grateful. Now it is Nicole's turn. Alas she cries she cannot. Maggie takes over as hostess and announces the guests can help themselves to refreshments. The mourners mingle. Nicole gasps to Chloe she would not want Parker to see her break down, hence her refusal to say a few words ... At the club, Brady lets Mel know how grateful he is for what Dan did for him. He cannot find the words. Theresa tells her she is sorry about Daniel and sorry in general, a past reference to her making Mel leave Salem and Brady. Mel admits she has heard that Brady and Theresa are both good parents and wishes them happiness ... Brady urges Parker to listen to his father's noble heart with his stethoscope. The lad smiles ... Fynn has an announcement to make. Something wonderful is taking place at the square as they speak. The guests stream out and behold the shrine to Daniel that is growing by the minute. Nicole is much moved. It all started with a notice from St. Luke's. Parker places the stethoscope by his father's framed photograph. Flowers abound. Nicole is touched when a woman who came tells her of all the lives Daniel saved. Nicole now stands before the group and declares Dan was a man who saved others, that is who he was. He also taught her how to forgive and to love. A tragic figure creeps by and Roman realizes who it is ... Brady steps away when he hears the same song in his head he heard in his dream of Dan at the beach. It bothers him because he knows it must mean something but what? ... Roman follows Eric and lets his son know he knows he was the one who put the St. Luke notice up, that he was the one responsible for the shrine to Daniel. Eric is still a lost soul. Roman reminds him he heard how certain people are willing to forgive. Eric feels it is too late for him, however, and goes on his downtrodden way ... John elegantly departs with Marlena on his arm ... Nicole approaches Brady on the bench nearby. She touches his leg as she listens to his tale of the strange song that torments him. He heard it when he had a vision of Southern California, POINT DOOM to be exact. Nicole notes Daniel and Fynn used to have an apartment by the beach in Malibu. Brady gasps Point Doom is off the coast of Malibu and decides he must find out more from Fynn. Theresa, who had attempted to get Brady to come home without success, stares at the sight of him sitting so closely with Nicole ... At the Kiriakis mansion. Maggie is unhappy to hear Mel is leaving soon. Victor goes to tell Henderson to pack her bag to give her more time with Daniel's mama Maggie and reminds her she is welcome here always. They hug. Maggie cries she was counting on more time with her. Mel feels she must return to help her mother at her understaffed clinic. Grandmother and granddaughter share an emotional embrace and Mel promises she will be back. She then slinks out in her little black dress, more sophisticated than the last time she was in Salem ... At Horton house, Abigail hears about the memorial from Jen and JJ. She was unable to attend due to the baby sitter cancelling last minute. She gets back to the baby and JJ decides to hit the books, serious student of the police academy that he is. Jen assures them she will be alright. Once alone, she gets out her pill bottle, dismayed to discover it is empty. She frowns ... Parker and Chloe embrace Nicole and she smiles Parker has to come visit soon. Then she returns to Dan's apartment all alone and cries on the black leather couch. She hears his words in her head, sees images of their love story, their plans for the future, and laments she looooooves him. Knock knock! Nicole now opens her door only to come face to face with disheveled unshaven Eric. His timing could not have been worse! THE END Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Nicole is out for Eric's blood!
