ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Link Only! NEW YEAR'S EVE PART II Friday, January 2, 2014 Episode 12,496 Beware of copycats. These are my words. There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At the town square, John and Marlena walk together, all smiles, already on their romantic New Year's Eve date. He stops to greet passerby Paul Norita the pitching great, who turns out to be less than friendly to meet a fan. Marlena assures the sports star that John can be trusted. Paul apologizes for his rude reaction. Marlena now innocently asks about his shoulder. Paul cuts the conversation short and arrogantly walks away. John wonders what his problem is. Marlena blinks in bewilderment ... At the Wilson apartment, Sonny is ready to ring in the New Year and excitedly tells Will his mother can babysit Ari. But his good humor is gone once he gets a phone call about the new club requiring thousands of dollars in roof repairs. The contractor will contact him with more later. Will has overheard. Sonny sighs he has no money left so if this is as bad as it sounds, he could face ruin tonight! Just then Paul calls, and announces he is ready to talk to Will and do that story. Tonight. Will notes it is New year's Eve. Paul notes he could give his story to another writer. Will agrees to be there shortly. He promises Sonny to return before the clock strikes 12, reasoning he has to do this for the money. They could really use it now so he does not want to pass up this professional opportunity. Sonny is no longer smiling ... In the dark park, Paige is unable to get a straight answer from JJ, who believes he does not deserve her. After much prodding, he finally admits he was untrue. Paige demands the name of the girl he cheated with! She uses the S word. SLUT! JJ hangs his head in shame ... Serena starts to worry about what Nicole the snoop may have discovered in her room. She tells herself she would have seen the emails from Eric, then checks her hidden safe, which has not been tampered with. She breathes a sigh of relief that Nicole did not find the safe or what it is hiding ... At Dan's place,the medicine man is mad as hell about Nicole's mischief. Mel admits she knew but did not say anything. Dan advises her to go out and join friends as planned. Mel goes on her unhappy little way. Dan now turns his rage on Nicole. He is livid she lied about being over Eric, not to mention that she butted into his business with more unethical antics. Nicole first attempts to deny the charge, then explains she was just curious about Serena. Dan is not buying her brand of truth so Nicole notes there are too many coincidences swirling around that suspicious Serena. For starters, she conveniently made friends with Mel in Europe after the Kristen fiasco, then came back to Salem for work, only to happily run into Eric, who was available again. Dan soap stares in disbelief ... Eric arrives at Serena's room. He is sorry Nicole broke in and offers to put her in touch with Detective Hope. Serena suggests Nicole is crazy and crazy for Eric, but there is no need for the police. She understands how hard it is to lose Eric, for she has been there. She flirts and places her arms around her dashing date, cooing she only cares about them tonight ... Mel is a mess at the town square. Brady stops her and wonders what is the matter. Mel gets all worked up about Nicole causing trouble and making Dan mad at her too. Brady tries to tell her Dan could never be mad at her and then announces he has the perfect solution ... Nicole wishes she and Dan could concentrate on the mayoral ball. He coldly opens his door and bids her a goodnight. Nicole implores him not to make her go. He now calls the hospital and offers to do that shift tonight after all. He snaps at Nicole to close the door on her way out and leaves her in tears ... Naughty bellboy Derek shows up at Paul's door with a bottle of champagne ... on the house! He grins he can come in to help open it. Just then Will the writer appears. Paul grabs the bottle with a thank you, dismisses the now dejected Derek, and invites Will into his lair. They sit and Paul opens up.He admits to realizing that he is nothing without baseball. He does not even know who he is without it. Will pragmatically points out perhaps it is time to find out who he is ... John suavely sits at a club table with Marlena, his vision in blue. Tender music plays in the background as he smoothly states he missed her more than words could say. She gushes and blushes she feels the same way ... Back at the pretty square, Brady excuses himself to fetch a much needed cup of hot chocolate for both him and Mel ... Dan is walking through the square to the hospital. Mel stops him and he notes his daughter did nothing wrong, for he had asked her not to interfere in his personal business. They can catch up later. Mel is much relieved. Brady comes back with the cocoa and she throws her arms around him like a little girl. They confer over their cocoa like close friends and she thanks him for being there. Brady suddenly gets an idea and takes her by the hand... Nicole remains at Dan's apartment, wallowing in sad tears and self-pity. She suddenly decides this New Year will be better than before and tries to call him. Alas it goes straight to voice mail. She fortifies herself to go and convince him that she truly is over Eric and walks out with determination ... Woman in red Serena and Eric are at the pub party, where Caroline intends to open a special bottle of champagne for the pair. She cuts her hand. Eric insists on taking her to the kitchen and tending to the wound. Serena finds herself alone as the clock inches closer to midnight ... Rory and his partying pals interrupt JJ and Paige. Paige cannot comprehend JJ's coldness and goes. JJ snaps at Rory and his partying pals to scram too and ends up alone at the park. He wants it that way ... It is close to midnight. Paul appreciates Will's pep talk and insists he join him for a glass of champagne. It is too late to ring in the new year at home now ... Meanwhile Sonny reads his 2012 resolution to make Will fall in love with him, followed by his 2014 resolution to make Will marry him. He starts to write his 2015 resolution, which will now be added to the box. He gets his call about the club and it is the worst possible news ... The clock strikes 12. Happy New Year Salem! For some more than others ... Paige looks up at the fireworks from the square all alone. JJ looks up at the fireworks from the park all alone ... John stands and admires the fireworks outside with doc at his side. They share a sweet kiss ... Sonny woefully sighs Happy New Year Will, looks out the window, and heads out ... Paul toasts to new beginnings, perhaps for both of them! Will is stunned. Paul the player steps forward and eyes him seductively. Will fights the feeling ... Brady has taken Mel to the Kiriakis doorstep to watch the festive fireworks. She thanks him for being a friend and he gives her a little kiss. Then something happens. Mel stares into his eyes and pulls him into a longer kiss. Brady responds with passion ... At the hospital, Dan apologizes for barking at Maxine to butt out of his personal affairs and toasts the New Year with apple cider, hoping for good friends and better judgment. They both drink to that ... Meanwhile Serena must turn down a drunken partier at the pub. Eric is nowhere to be seen. She wistfully walks out,only to bump into Nicole. Hellcat faces hellcat. And Serena is not going to let things slide ...! THE END |
