Rafe the civilian in the black leather jacket saunters through the town square ... until crooked Clyde proceeds to heckle him for being reduced to a regular civilian, just like him. Rafe gets in his face and lets him know he knows he is nothing like him. Furthermore, he knows he is up to no good in sleepy Salem.He suggests Clyde's luck will run out one of these days. Clyde cackles about his lack of badge and goes on his way. Rafe stares darkly ... At the club, Abigail excitedly tells baristo boyfriend Ben that the big press conference about the new charity project is today! Chad appears and elegantly promises to attend. Ben snaps why! Cos he is proud of Jordan. Abigail accepts the explanation but Ben has a bad feeling he is unable to shake... Paul works up a sweat in physical therapy with Jordan. She notices he is overdoing it and he gasps it is over,he will never be able to pitch again. Jordan wonders whether he has confided in anyone. Paul remembers telling Will and replies just one person. All of a sudden, irate Anne the HR queen opens the door, demanding Jordan come with. She applauds the project but notes the negative publicity it could attract with Abigail screwup Devereaux's name attached. What would the anonymous donor think? The mysterious caller claims to have the whole sordid story of Serena the fraud. Nicole is tempted but turns him down. He leaves her his number regardless. Nicole proudly updates a co-worker on how she took the high road, as the prelude to tonight's date with Dan ... Serena stares at the shirtless photographs of Eric she is holding, photos of him reposing on a bed, a space beside him ... A knock sounds at the door so she puts her secret pictures back in the safe. There stands bewildered bellboy Derek, who is confronted for letting Nicole in her room. He stammers he needs his job. Serena seeks only the truth or else she tells the manager. Derek decides to start talking ... Sonny has been summoned to Victor's glitzy new club, which he purchased for him. Turns out the owner perished in an accident and the wife was looking for a quick sale. Sonny grimaces. He wanted to run his own club. The Greek gets sarcastic about his DiMera business partner. Sonny stands up, wishes him luck with his new club,and walks out in a huff ... Kate visits Will at the apartment. He just missed Sonny, it seems. Kate wants to know whether he got everything he wanted from Paul the pitcher. Will becomes uncommunicative. Kate suggests he not be shy about pressing his subject for his story. Will snaps at her, then says he is sorry. He has been feeling the pressure from his editor. Kate is sympathetic. She changes the subject to Sonny again. Will sighs they missed each other and he is meeting with Victor as they speak ... Jordan is glad to see Chad and his bright blue eyes in her corner at the hospital. He is here to offer his support and praises her for the project. Abigail and Ben have arrived, all smiles, until Jordan explains she felt the need to make Anne an offer. Abigail wonders, her eyes filled with dread ... Alas diva Kate must depart for a meeting. She waltzes out in her animal print coat after urging Will the great writer to push Paul. Will tries to get to work at his computer. He does not believe he can out Paul, unless, of course, that is what he really wants him to do ... Meanwhile Sonny has been summoned to a secret outdoor meeting with Paul. Another one! Paul updates him on the official loss of his pitching career. Shocked Sonny is sorry and reaches out with a supportive hand on his shoulder. Paul wants to talk about them, the fact that Sonny must feel something as he always agrees to see him. Sonny sighs he misunderstands, he is very married. Paul questions if he is even happy in his marriage. Sonny is determined to make his marriage work and reminds Paul what came between them was his lack of honesty. HONESTY happens to mean everything to him! Paul sighs he could not let his family know his secret. His grandfather would have a problem with it. Sonny suggests Paul is really the one with the problem and walks away. Paul gets to thinking ... Serena is at the club picking up a coffee when she happens to run into Nicole. Naturally, she assumes she is still stalking her and issues her a warning to stay away from her and Eric, who wants nothing to do with her. She knows she broke into her room, bribed the bellboy, and made Mel lie! Nicole does her best to take the high road. It is not easy. Serena calls her a toxic snake. Clyde is at the park on his phone, smug as a bug about the big profits from his new trucking enterprise ... Rafe arrives at the glossy new club in time to hear Victor the Greek grumbling on his phone about some unwanted questionable competition. He deduces the tycoon was discussing country Clyde. Victor grumbles he will make him regret muscling in, then gets straight to the point. How does he like the club? Pretty impressive. Victor now offers Rafe the position of manager. All he would need to do is make sure no one was stealing from the till, oversee the employees who came with the place, and schmooze in a white jacket a la Casablanca. Rafe is not sure. The Greek glowers to consider carefully. How the hell else will he be able to make a living? Rafe glances around the cool club ... Anne shares that she is elated that Jordan invited her to be the watchdog on the project. Abigail realizes it is a necessary evil to have the HR diva on their side and plays along. Self-important Anne soon has the reporters ready and the press conference about to proceed ... until board member Kate arrives on scene, loudly voicing her disapproval. She argues with Anne about the anonymous donor even approving of the children who will be in charge. Jordan is not about to give up on her dream. She turns to Chad, whom she mistakenly believes to be the mystery donor,and begs him to come clean. Chad is rendered speechless. Kate cackles about Jordan's solicitation. Ben, who can bear no more criticism of his sister, suddenly blurts out Chad cannot take credit for the anonymous donor was his father. Jordan and Chad incredulously exclaim WHAT?! Will stands up when solemn Sonny enters the apartment. He apologizes for missing the stroke of midnight with him New Year's Eve and wants to say something. Sonny sadly states he has something to say first ... He lost the new club and now all their cash is gone too! Will's phone rings. Sonny implores him not to answer, they need to talk, but Will feels the need to take this call, as the article is more important than ever, given how he is working for both of them now. Sonny glumly goes in the other room to check on their daughter. Will takes the call from Paul. Paul dramatically declares he has decided to do it. The time has come to stop lying and tell the whole world his truth! Will nervously glances at the door Sonny has just closed behind himself ... Victor angrily calls Clyde and demands a face-to-face meeting. He is in full Kiriakis mode ... Serena calls her superior,smug that she succeeded in taking care of her biggest problem in Salem ... Back at the station, Nicole converses with a co-worker, who is impressed with the kinder gentler Nicole. Once alone, Nicole wonders whether she can have it all regardless ... She calls up the mysterious man who has all the dirt on Serena her heart desires, to let him know she just might be interested in that scoop ...! THE END Ahead on Days: Paige is ready to accuse! Victor vs. Clyde! Jordan is devastated. Aiden wants something gone. |
