There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Nicole realizes Theresa is just being jealous. Theresa wants to take off. But Nicole insists she wait for a few minutes while she showers. They can go to Brady together, after they have given him enough time to talk to Summer. Theresa keeps trying to get a text reply ... Meanwhile at the bar in Malibu Brady wonders what Summer means that Dan suspected she was his sister. He would like to start by hearing how they met. Summer explains she was adopted in Texas from a church-run orphanage. She had problems with her mind and ended up in California. That was where she met Dr. Dan at the beach. They were both going through a dark time, he having lost his wife, she having lost her will to live. Dan used to hold her when she lost it but they were friends not lovers. He helped her with her meds. Brady was his friend too and felt Dan was trying to tell him something with his dreams of her. Spiritual Summer is not surprised. After he told her he had found his mother, she had told him her biological mother was from a farm in the Midwest. A condition made it too hard for her to keep her hence the adoption. That sounded a lot like Maggie. Dan was going to do a DNA test but by the time she had sent him her sample in the kit, the crash had evidently claimed his life. Brady is blown away ... Steve finds Kayla crouching over Ava in their foyer. Kayla laments she came across her with an injected needle in her arm. It is morphine. Steve tries to wake her up without success. He then suggests they let her die like she must have intended. Dr. Kayla refuses to do so. Sirens are heard. Disappointed Steve quips too late ... Joe storms to the square and angrily sends a chair flying. He is furious about Ava's betrayal. He ends up sitting on a park bench and sulks when he cannot download a song. A pretty girl who recognizes him from school comes along. Jade ... Summer and Brady are now playing darts. They have connected like kindred spirits ... Kayla is worried about Joe finding out about Ava and Steve. He states he told him and then he went off to think. Kayla gets a bad feeling ... Summer feels like another drink. Dario pleasantly waits. She smiles coffee cos she took her meds. Dario does even better, adding nachos so she has something to eat as well. Brady boldly suggests his new friend do what Daniel wanted her to do - return to Salem with him for the DNA test. Summer gets a tad stressed. Brady believes she needs to meet Maggie. Such was Dan's plan ... As luck would have it, Jade has music in common with Joey, in addition to having a history as a bad student with the wrong kind of friends. She complains about parents and then invites him to a rad party. Joey grins at his good fortune and accepts but perhaps this girl is not the good luck he was hoping for ... Ava is strapped to a gurney and taken to the hospital by ambulance. Steve and Kayla follow. Kayla showed the paramedics what she injected herself with and also updates the doctors at the hospital. There was morphine but the patient might have mixed it with more drugs ... Roman gets a call from Kayla. He sighs he is swamped at the station. She updates him on Ava drugging herself on her doorstep. Roman is on his way ... Nicole is fresh as a daisy from her shower. Theresa is pleased she got a text reply from Brady, who is at a bar on the beach in Malibu. She scoffs someone with a name like Summer must be a stripper. Nicole assures her she has no reason to feel threatened. They must do right by Daniel ... Brady confides to Summer that he too has had a tough time trying to find himself. She can relate. He is starting anew with a little family. Summer worries that Maggie might not even be her mother. Brady assures her Maggie would still be pleased to meet her. He tells her to take a chance and take the trip back to Salem with him. Tis a quiet place with good people ... Dr. Fynn is ordering a toxicology screen of the patient. He will copy Kayla in on it. He enters the room and she opens her eyes, acting out of sorts. Fynn smiles hello and excuses himself to see to those tests. Outside, Steve starts to have his suspicions. Having heard how Kayla attacked Ava, he senses the sinister siren provoked her. It must have been part of her plan. Kayla refuses to let Steve see her and pulls rank as the chief of staff, going in to see her for herself ... Back in Malibu Brady continues trying to convince Summer that Maggie would love her. Maggie is just like Dan ... Theresa and Nicole walk in. Nicole stops to speak with bartender Dario, happy to see him. Theresa stands possessively by Brady and insists on taking him home. He smiles and hopes Summer is joining him. Theresa fumes and gives her a dirty look ... Commissioner Roman arrives at the hospital. Steve insists Ava is up to her old tricks. Roman tells him off for dragging his sister into more hurt. He wishes she would kick him out ... Ava blinks up at Kayla and smiles so she should thank her for saving her? Kayla leans over her menacingly and demands to know what kind of game she is playing ... Brady looks disappointed when Summer nervously states she is not coming to Salem ... Dario suggests he and Nicole catch up once he is off work and watches the scene unfolding ... Tired Ava notices Roman standing with Steve at her room window, watching. She taunts Kayla she has no intention of stopping and alludes to winning. She now flails and screams in fake fear. Roman and Steve race in the room. Roman urges the panicking patient to calm down. Ava plays the victim to perfection, announcing Kayla was the one who tried to kill her. Tis all part of her diabolical plan ... THE END |
