There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At the park, Phil is on the phone with impatient Deimos, who demands the serum now unless he wants to be destroyed! Phil frowns and Belle appears, wondering what is the matter ... Steve gets off the phone with a lead call and stares at sleeping Ava on the sofa. He curses her for kidnapping Kayla ... At the cabin, creeped out Ciara sees all of Chase's texts to Theo on the burner phone she found in his bag. She blasts him for being the bully and throws the phone at him. Chase just stands there naked shivering and she shouts and walks out. Rafe and Hope soon return from their ice fishing adventure. They call for the kids to help cook but the place is empty and Chase's bag is gone. Hope is horrified ... Joe emerges and Steve explains the liar is still holding out. He has no guarantee about Kayla either. Joe breaks down for believing her. Steve reminds him he denied knowing her. Joe is upset with himself. Steve tells his son at least he has a good lead. He will make sure that boy is safe and then he will bring mom home and make this wicked woman pay. Ava sleeps on ... Hope fears Andre snatched the kids from the cabin but then Ciara arrives. She updates them on Chase the terrible texter! Rafe goes to find him for it is dangerously cold ... Phil lets Belle know he will not try and talk her out of it if she wants to get back together with Shawn. She already broke his heart before. She explains she does care for Phil but feels she owes Claire and Shawn to try again. Especially Claire. Phil warns her against sacrificing her own happiness. Belle believes she must. Meanwhile Claire is entertaining Eve with a song. Eve shakes her head and ends the music. She wants her to let go, do better. Claire snaps she is not trained so she cannot. Eve insists she can. Claire is nervous about not being ready for the audition. Eve tells her she has more talent than anyone but needs proper training. For now try to bear her soul. One more time ... It is better that time, with more soul ... Ava finally wakes up. Joey is gone as Steve wanted a word alone with her. First she needs to give Kayla some food and water. He insists on accompanying her. She implies then Kayla will starve to death, a smile on her smug face ... Belle asks what his real problem was so Phil changes the subject. She persists. He laments she will not be impressed and gives her an advance for some secret legal advice. She sighs she thought they were friends. Phil fears she will change her mind fast once he enlightens her ... At the cabin, Ciara notes Claire did say Chase had a crush on her plus he seemed somewhat jealous of her with Theo. Hope is hoping for a better ending but Rafe returns and solemnly states he did not find him ... Steve dangles the lead he got from an ISA contact. Near her father's compound there was a goon who used to get black market babies. He was connected to Indonesia. Steve now offers her a deal. She sneakily suggests they should come to an understanding soon, for the sake of Kayla ... Kayla comes to in an empty room. The image of a serpent stares at her from the wall. There is no way out ... Rafe informs frantic Hope that Chase was not seen by anyone, perhaps he did not board a ferry. They should get the Salem P.D. involved ... Maggie stands by Victor and cries at Dan's shrine in the square. She reads one of the moving messages from a young life he saved, one of many. She weeps for Parker and for Dan not seeing him grow up. Victor assures her he touched lives. Maggie sees a lady with a flower and goes to ask her story. Deimos comes up behind his brother and leers he hopes he will not suffer any more losses. Dangerous music plays ... Phil has updated Belle on Deimos blackmailing him. Belle wants to know what it is about. An affair Phil had with a party girl who overdosed in his hotel room. Belle does the math. Phil feared he would fry as her father was a Chicago police captain so a friend helped him move her to another room. But Deimos was having him watched waiting for such an opening. Phil does not wish to betray his father but how long can he stall sinister Deimos? ... Steve uncuffs Ava and gives her her freedom. He tells her he is hers and will do what she wants forever if only she frees Kayla. Ava looks up at him strangely, rubbing her sore wrist ... Claire the songbird is starting to feel the music. Eva proudly applauds her protegee with tears in her eyes and hugs her ... Deimos notes the chest pains were nothing and states he knew he was acting. Victor turns away and tells him they have nothing to discuss. Testy Deimos tells him not to turn his back on him again. Victor asks him what he wants once and for all ... Rafe steps out and Hope assures her daughter Chase left not because of her but because of his own regret ... Ava does not believe Steve and his about-face. If she let Kayla go what would make him keep his word? He grew up in an orphanage and feels strongly about her son knowing her no matter who the father is. He wants to go with her. Ava eyes him with suspicion ... Deimos thinks Victor must know what he wants - to settle his score by stealing everything from him. Victor quips he already tried years ago and look what happened. Deimos denounces him and warns retribution is imminent. Victor lets him know his old cage will become a coffin. Deimos threatens the same to him. So be it! Maggie appears and wonders what is going on ... Phil admits Deimos wants the serum for sinister purposes and is blackmailing him. Belle suggests he tell Victor. Phil feels then Victor would get mad at him. He thinks he needs to dig up some dirt on Deimos. Belle suggests he consider John Black. He is a trustworthy man who could help ... Steve argues with Ava to work with him to find her son ... Chase is back at Hope's house. He texts Ciara he is sorry, he cannot explain, he hates what he did to Theo even more but now she does not need to worry. This is goodbye ... Ciara sees the text and gasps oh no. Hope makes her call him. There is no answer. The house is dark and silent ... Hope wants to trace his phone. Chase is now outside the house and answers Ciara's call. He cannot come back. She forgives him but he cries he cannot. He sits on a bench and tells her he is fine and took the ferry back to Salem. She wants them to work through this and begs him to tell her where he is. Home and about to leave. She begs him to wait for her and the lost lad agrees to stay ... Deimos is sorry for Maggie's loss and notes one can never be prepared for the sudden loss of a loved one. Then he leaves. Victor tells her to forget that but turns back with worry ... Claire thanks Eve for helping her for the audition. They are now outside and the girl hugs her mentor. Belle comes around the corner in her long black coat and stares darkly ... Kayla is screaming for help and panicking in the four walls she can feel closing in. Meanwhile Ava claims Steve's words are not convincing so he grabs her in a passionate kiss. However, this is no kiss from the heart but a kiss straight from hell! THE END |
