There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Kate admires the flowers she has received at the mansion. Chad appears, making fun of Clyde’s twang, taunting did he write her note the same way? Kate wishes she could kick him out and wonders why it is even his business. Chad suspects Clyde the not so good old boy has an agenda, namely DiMera Enterprises! Kate fumes … Overseas suited Stefano thanks his beautiful assistant, who has something to show on his ipad. Revealing photographs of Clyde romancing the Kate … Rafe returns to Jordan at the hospital, determined to discuss but she would rather not. Rafe exclaims he knows every damn thing Kate did now! Everything! She vows not to let Kate destroy her. Rafe asks if she can say the same thing about Clyde … At the park, Hope has found out that Aiden made his millions from his late wife from Chase, who is terrified she will tell him what he said. Chase seems to think his father has a terrible temper … The homeless woman explodes when Aiden suggests she mistook him for someone. She screams she knows what he did. She points as Abe attempts to pacify her, accusing Aiden of doing awful things. Aiden stands in silence. Abe motions for an officer to approach and explains Lea should leave the gentleman alone. She repeats she knows what he did as the cop ushers her away. Abe apologizes for the harmless homeless woman who is known to them. Aiden assures Abe he is fine though in reality she left him rattled … Near the pub, Nicole is happy to run into Brady, who bears news about Mel being in town. Nicole thinks she is a judgmental spoiled girl and complains about their run-in. Brady is amused. Nicole says to stop smirking. Brady is curious. Is Nicole more bugged that Mel thought she and Dan were an item? Nicole overreacts. She and Dan are no more than friends! Marlena appears with a knowing smile and notes Nicole seems tense. Nicole laughs even more nervously ... Chez Dan, he feels he and daughter Mel could use a good hot chocolate. Mel is morose and would rather stay in. She stares out the window with worry, feigning jet lag. Dan reminds her she has a lunch date with Brady. She will still keep that. Dan now questions her so-called fatigue. She thinks she needs a nap. Dan does not even think she looks tired. She quips she is naturally effervescent. She is now elated to learn that little brother Parker is coming home. Dan has a bad feeling he cannot shake and implores her to confide her troubles. Mel stops smiling. This is the new Mel, not the old Mel and the new Mel is tired. He agrees to let her sleep in peace and they exchange I love yous. But at the elevator, he sends a text. Dan needs a favor from a friend … Inside Mel has a look at a damning document she would never want dad Dan to know about … Meanwhile at the park, the wicked woman finds out from her flunky that Mel is with her covering father. The time has come to act! Chase begs Hope to say nothing to his father. They are interrupted by the police officer, who explains Commander Carver needs her at the square. Lea the loon is off her meds again. Hope sighs she must be spooking people and soon joins Aiden at the square with Chase. Abe attends to the upset homeless woman. Hope is sorry for Aiden .Most of Salem knows about her. Aiden makes light of it and now asks his son where his friend went Chase gulps he left with his mom. Aiden suspects he is not saying everything and stares sternly. Hope watches. Abe now summons Hope. Chase stammers to his father he is sorry he left. He notices his friend in the distance with his mom, as they are his ride to school. Aiden sighs and lets him race off. Abe and Hope discuss what happened. Abe still believes Aiden is a good man. Hope agrees. Aiden has overheard and smiles. Abe goes and Aiden notes the next volunteers are here so they are free. Hope gushes she is off duty until later. He gushes Chase has headed to school … Kate cackles. Chad insists he is protecting the company from Clyyyyyde. Kate claims she trusts no man. Chad wonders whether she trusts Rafe ... Jordan claims not to give a damn about Kate or Clyde. Rafe thinks that is a new attitude. Jordan insists she and Ben are done running. She is happy in Salem and even fell … Rafe finishes for her. He believes she fell in love with HIM! Nicole excuses herself. Bemused Brady suspects she knows Marlena loathes her. Marlena merely loathes what she did to Eric. Brady grins he is off to see Mel. Marlena is delighted to hear it and clearly approves! Hope and Aiden get romantic in their special room. He stops kissing her and is sorry about Chase acting out. Hope admits he said some things and was worried his father would not approve. Aiden asks about that. Chase said the money came from his wife. Aiden thinks Hope sounds surprised. She is indeed. Aiden realizes he lives like a rich man, but he grew up poor. He ended up a lowly paid public defender and assistant D.A. It was Meredith who had the money. He cares more about the welfare of his son than any money, though he strives to make up for the loss of his mother by providing a certain lifestyle for Chase. Hope decides she should not have mentioned it. Besides, she would rather do something that does not involve talking. They kiss. Jordan scoffs at Rafe to get over himself! Nothing will change the fact that he cheated with Kate! Rafe grimaces. She turns away, all choked up … Rafe regrets his mistake and emotionally informs her he loves her. Still. Jordan thinks she is moving on now. Rafe is aghast she actually believes in Chad the cad DiMera. She snaps it is not his concern. Rafe blurts out it is his concern cos he cares! Kate refuses to talk about Rafe and hands Chad work papers to sign. He is already aware Rafe came by earlier. Kate realizes he has been keeping tabs with the servants. She smugly states Rafe seems to want to win Jordan back. He still has a spark and she suspects Jordan does as well. Chad clears his throat, signs in a hurry, and takes off, grumbling Rafe should be kept on a short leash. Kate slyly smiles she knows where he is headed … At the nurse’s station, Dan assures Maxine little Mel will see her soon. Nicole arrives and they head to the club for a talk ... Mel is alone when she hears a knock on the door. She opens, gets scared, then realizes it is her old friend Serena, who is moving to Salem to do research at the hospital. Big hug! Serena must go to the hospital but dropped by for a hello. She discovers her watch is not working so she is running late and races off, promising to touch base. Mel lets her go with a giggle. Once alone, she takes a deep breath and tells herself there is no need to be nervous. She got away with a certain something … Chad walks in on Rafe and Jordan and suspiciously wonders what he interrupted. Back at the mansion, Kate cannot help but admire the magnificent magnolias. Ring ring! Tis Stefano, who wishes Katarrrrina good day in Italian with an ill willed laugh. At the club, Dan asks reporter Nicole how to trace a blocked phone number He updates her on Mel’s strange caller. Nicole notes only a court order could get a number unblocked. Dan sighs he needs to give his daughter her space. Nicole disagrees and advises him to make her tell him the truth! Brady comes by the apartment to pick Mel up for their lunch date. In the excitement, she forgets to conceal the document she never wants Dan to find. It is left on the table … Kate suggests Stefano be brief as the tax evasion boys must have tapped the line. He cackles and offers some unsolicited advice on a telecom company in Asia she may have wanted to purchase. She acts disinterested. He taunts how is she enjoying being co-CEO with his son?! Jordan thinks Rafe should leave. Chad wonders. Rafe warns him he always looks out for his friends, as he will for Jordan. Chad gets sarcastic. Rafe exits. Jumpy Jordan just wants to go somewhere. Serena has her hospital orientation with Maxine. She spies Marlena standing at the elevator … Nicole tells Dan his toughness has always helped her so if Mel is in trouble, she needs him to be firm. Dan is grateful for the advice and departs … Brady and Mel stroll through the square. He asks her to wait while he pops into a store to buy batteries. He teases Mel for hanging onto her purse in the pickpocket free square and steps away. Mel stands alone at the outdoor café. That is when she spies the raven haired woman and her associate. Mel bolts. They menacingly follow … Hope and Aiden cuddle. Unbeknownst to her, he is haunted by Lea the loon’s words, that he did something awful … Kate claims Chad is an upstart. Stefano boasts his boy learned fast from his mistakes, unlike her! She hit a new low going from Hernandez to the crooked country boy. He cackles they must go out square dancing. Kate threatens to hang up, given how busy she is with the company and the mansion. Stefano smugly states he will call back at a more convenient time. Kate hisses never! Stefano chuckles but Kate is tense. He is evidently having her watched … Chad and Jordan walk to the overgrown town gate. He wonders whether she has Rafe on her mind. She denies it and kisses him … Romeo Rafe drowns his sorrows at the pub. Abe approaches, worried, as he is not one to drink so early in the day. Rafe replies he is off duty. Abe is aware of it and wonders what has him so lost. Rafe laments he ruined something wonderful and has no one but himself to blame … Serena gets confirmation from Maxine that that is indeed the timeless Marlena Evans. Serena used to know her once upon a time … Dan heads home to talk to Mel and discovers the document. He reads it and thunders NOOOOOOO … Brady is back but cannot find Mel. Nicole explains she saw her running away with two people in hot pursuit. She points Brady in the right direction … Mel ends up at the park, and finds herself face to face with her worst nightmare. The wicked woman from her continental past and her Euro flunky! Mel’s eyes widen in horror like a soap heroine in peril. But is this really GAME OVER …?! THE END |
