There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Backstage at the Basic Black Fashion show, Theresa anxiously attends to the models. She fixes Paul and Gabi the important ones and they are ready to roll. Now there are two sultry tall models. Theresa is rattled. Annie has her back but is drinking from her flask. Woman in black Theresa takes some swigs as well to calm her nerves ... Front and center by the stage the DJ plays cool background music. Brady approaches drinking Nicole and praises her for winning against Kate, playing the peacemaker. They agree Kate's antics were vicious, especially the ugly hat she had Pierre put on Gabi. Brady notes Nicole is drinking a tad too much and agrees to work the room cos he puts the black in basic. Moments later Kate converges with Pierre. They sip their cocktails as she coos Theresa's designs will fail and then he is IN. Kate and Nicole notice each other across the blue room and raise their glasses. Brady buzzes around Kate and smoothly states he spoke to some enthused distributors on their behalf. Kate scoffs it is too soon and alludes to a disaster. Brady notes Nicole found some capable seamstresses and Theresa is a survivor. Kate thinks she is still not ready regardless ... In the hospital waiting room, Abigail is impatient. Jen feels they have to wait for the results. But Abigail is determined to save her son fast and takes off. When she returns she announces she got a sample of Ben's blood from the blood bank and it is being tested as they speak as well as hers. Soon they will have answers! Meanwhile at DiMera mansion, suited Chad is ready to get close to Belle as ordered by Master Andre. He takes a last look at Abigail's fallen earring and reminds himself he must forget about her. For la familia ... At the Basic Black event, suited Dan joins Nicole, who complains about Kate. Slick Steve enters with his sweetness, who is a vision in green. They greet Joey and Steve goes for the drinks. The teen wants a beer. Steve laughs maybe a root beer. Kayla now notices Ava walking in with Finn and her eyes coldly watch. Joey looks jealous. After a cool exchange, with Ava gushing thank you for the forgiveness, Finn hopes she has no problems with his doctor boss. Ava makes light of it and flirts for the benefit of Kayla's smitten son ... Suited John saunters in, greets partner Steve, and gasps is that who he thinks it is! What the hell is she doing here! Steve explains how she is dying and returned for redemption but John has his doubts and warns his P.I. partner she could pose a danger. Marlena waltzes in with her black gown and gives Ava a dark stare, not impressed. Moments later John and Marlena share a private champagne toast to the anniversary of their last first date, all smiles. Joey texts Ava to explain who that guy is and what she is doing with him. When the teens arrive, he sulks over being ignored, and takes Ciara, Belle, and Claire to see the dj. Steve and Kayla share their engagement news with John and Marlena, the masters of romance. They congratulate and hug the happy pair. Backstage Paul gives insecure Gabi another pep talk. JJ arrives with flowers, having sneaked backstage and gives her something to smile about ... Nicole greets Ava like an old friend as Dan and Finn step away to get drinks. So many Salemites are celebrating tonight ... Nicole spies Eric, who is as drunk as a skunk, all smiles. He staggers away after informing her he is not doing any photography. Dan and Nicole note that does not sound good. But she is distracted by the big launch of her new company and the fact that Dan is at her side. She declares that this is the best time of her life, forgetting that in Salem one must never tempt the fates ... Backstage Theresa and Anne's backs are turned when the two tall female models who were hired hiss and argue over the next Versace modeling gig. They claw at each other and their dresses are torn. Gabi breaks the catfight up. Helpful Paul offers to get them more time and steps out. Theresa feels all is lost. Anne tells her to give the bimbos they still need hell and save the day. Theresa finds her mockups along with her voice and talks tough with the two models. They pout when she threatens to sue them if they do not fulfill their contracts. Paul returns with good news. They have got more time and the crowd is happy and unhurried ... Claire's face falls when her mother sweeps in with Phillip Kiriakis. Chad follows closely behind. Brady heads backstage to show Theresa his support and reminds her she can do this. He kisses her, talks of their future, and tells her to kick ass! The models and spokespeople take their places. The guests have gathered in their seats. Cue the music. The catwalk cometh! Gabi struts out in her black dress, showing how to OWN the runway. Next up is Paul, who walks with casual confidence. The now professionally behaving models come out after, doing justice to Theresa's creations. Basic Black is a HIT. More outfits follow with more enthusiasm from Salem's movers and shakers. Nicole is elated. Kate smiles a pained smile. The show continues. Chad blinks as the lights flash. He has so much in his foggy head these days ... Theresa walks out to take her bow. The crowd gives the new designer a standing ovation. She smiles with stars in her eyes. Brady is proud. Nicole gushes to slooooowly clapping Kate what a great success Theresa was. Kate reminds her to hold that thought until they have read the morning reviews. Brady goes backstage and grabs Theresa in a passionate kiss ... When Phillip leaves Belle's side, Chad demands an explanation. Why did she choose HIM? He invited her out too! Belle quips but Phillip is available, whereas Chad only acts like he is. Belle is standing alone when Phillip returns with the news that he has a long distance work call he has to take. Hong Kong will not wait. But neither will Belle! Baffled Brady approaches his sister and asks what she is doing with three men. She has Shawn and is now with Chad and Phillip as well? Bejeweled Belle blurts out Shawn wants a divorce so she is a FREE woman. Claire confronts her for her flirtatious behavior but Belle snaps this is not the time or place. She goes out for some fresh air and Chad dutifully follows, for la familia ... Back at the hospital, the blood results are in. Abigail and Jen wait with bated breath. The medicine woman holding the results in her hand wonders ... Phillip steps back in to party and boasts to Brady he just closed a big deal. Brady accuses him of taking chances with the company while Victor is distracted. Phillip keeps boasting. Brady warns him not to hurt his father or sister ... Charming Chad has brought Belle to his club and orders champagne to go. They flirt and get closer as she wonders what he has in mind for tonight ... Abigail asks the medicine woman what is wrong. She sighs Abigail's blood type is O and son Thomas is A. Thomas' father's blood type would have to therefore be either A or AB. However, Ben's blood type is O so he cannot be the biological father. Abigail is stunned and sits. Jen asks what it means. Abigail quietly clarifies. It means that CHAD is the father of her baby! BOOM. THE END Ahead on Days of Our Lives: New Year's Eve ends in HELL. |
