Rafe is about to leave the pub when harassed Hope rushes in, ready to go over a case with him. Rafe grimaces he happens to be gone from the police force … At DiMera mansion, diva Kate reminds Chad how obsessive he has been with the fairer sex. He loudly protests and counters Kate is displacing her man eater ways on other women. He now mocks her relationship with Clyde … At the hospital, Jordan explains to Abigail that she is a survivor. At the tender age of 18, she took Ben and ran far from Clyde. She got tough jobs, lived out of a car but by golly they made it. There is nothing Chad DiMera could do to hurt her … Mel goes back to the apartment with Sonny, who has put Ari down for her nap. She marvels over the bond mother and daughter share and is sorry Will could not make it to the prison visit with Gabi. Sonny deeply sighs he is sorry too … Paul is highly agitated as he exclaims to Will it is over. Will has no idea what the sports star is referring to … John has summoned Marlena to a meeting by the festive Christmas tree at the town square. She is baffled. He boldly asks her out for New Year’s Eve, a twinkle in his roguish eye. He considers it a new beginning and promises great things for 2015, which should be drama free for both of them. Marlena gazes at him with stars in her eyes and happily accepts … Mel can see that Sonny is stressed from all the work involved with the new club and suggests Chad the business partner should be stepping up more. Sonny defends his partner, who has been busy with DiMera business and Jordan, the girl he is now seeing. A frown creases Mel’s fair brow when she realizes that girl is also the sister of Abigail’s boyfriend. Quite a coincidence. Sonny states Chad has changed. Mel notes he told her he was even tougher than before and no longer let himself be taken advantage of. It sounded like he has NOT changed for the better. Sonny dismisses anything he may have said to his ex, however, and continues to give him the benefit of the doubt. Mel urges him to watch his back … Will still does not understand. Paul informs him that his arm will never be better than average, as per the doctors so his pro pitching days are gone with the wind … Back at the pub, Hope has heard Rafe’s story that her suspicions were right and he did cover for Gabi, which was recently revealed in an anonymous letter to Roman. Hope thinks she should talk to Roman. Rafe thinks he should get a good lawyer. Hope knows exactly who to call … Crafty Clyde confers with attorney Aiden at his office. Clyde tells him his tale of wanting to make an anonymous donation to his proud stepdaughter’s project. Aiden is somewhat surprised he did not even think of getting a tax deduction for said donation. He pauses to take a call from Hope, who has a favor to ask … Will is shocked by Paul’s professional career dying such a sudden death. He had no idea how much was at risk. He wonders whether Paul has told his family. Not yet. So far only Will knows. Paul panics about the headlines. Will promises to say nothing to no one and gets an idea on how to control the situation … Chad gets back to the popular club and sits at Abigail’s table. He taunts absentee Ben, who is presumably registering for college classes. Abi is not amused. Chad suspects Abigail hates him seeing Jordan just as much as Jordan’s brother Ben does. Abigail airily states she has no worries now … Mel heads to the hospital to report for duty. Head nurse Maxine heartily welcomes her back and introduces her to Jordan. Mel scrunches up her pretty little nose and stops smiling … Will plans to give Paul’s story a spin and focus on the story of how and why he became a free agent plus the risk of injury in the major leagues. Paul would decide how and when he revealed his situation to the press. Paul praises Will as a nice guy. He has no idea what angle wily Will is really thinking of exploiting … Paul promises to consider. Will adds he knows he will succeed at anything he wants and takes his leave. Paul now places a call to the only thing he really wants – Sonny Kiriakis – and insists he meet him as soon as possible … John drawls he will see doc soon and saunters off. The blonde blushes … Persistent Paul manages to convince Sonny to meet him in 10 minutes for a 15-minute conversation. Sonny agrees to talk to him at the town gate, no hotel room … Chad implies Abigail is giving his innocent self a hard time with Jordan due to her own jealousy. Abigail points out Rafe could still be in Jordan’s sphere since they used to be an item. Chad gets mad about Rafe trying to dig up dirt on him and departs, after alluding to Rafe not being in a position to do anything against him … Mel notes Jordan is seeing Chad and explains they were once engaged … John makes for the pub, where he sips coffee. Hope spies him and gives him a welcome home hug. They sit at a table and catch up on their respective relationships. John is hoping to stay in Salem forever and lets Hope know he will support her new relationship with Aiden. She thanks her friend with a smile and warmly places her hand on his … Mel stammers she has something to say about Chad DiMera. Jordan already knows he is wonderful. Mel murmurs he has a dark side … Unsuspecting Sonny solemnly approaches Paul by the town gate. Paul starts to talk in circles about their Christmas conversation. Entrepreneur Sonny impatiently states he has a club to get back to. Paul gushes he has been hanging onto that call cos it showed Sonny cared. Sonny agrees he does care. Paul fails to notice he means he cares as a friend. Paul suddenly blurts out he still loves him and never stopped! Sonny pauses … Rafe sits glumly across from attorney Aiden and admits he was wrong to play God. It could not keep Gabi out of jail … Legal eagle Aiden shares his two concerns. The first is that a confession hands the D.A. an open and shut case, the second is that whoever wrote this anonymous letter exposing Rafe is a DANGEROUS ENEMY. Rafe does not deny it … Chad is at the dark DiMera mansion attending to the fire in the fireplace. Jordan appears and announces she just met Melanie … Clyde and Kate catch up at the square. She is looking forward to Jordan’s expression when she finds out that HE was her heroic donator. Clyde notes timing is of the essence and Kate’s name should be kept out of it … Marlena visits with Will at the apartment. He is pleased to hear her promising news about a New Year’s Eve date with John. She smiles and asks about his plans with Sonny. He will only say they are both swamped at the moment, Sonny with his new club, himself with his article, but things are going to settle down soon … Sonny holds up his wedding ring in exasperation. Paul lets him know he is ready to come out so they can be together the way he always wanted. They can have it all! Sonny emotionally states he loves his husband, he did not just get married to get over Paul and he is not going to leave. Paul is saddened and sorry. Sonny encourages him to still come out and be who he really is cos then he will be able to find his own soul mate. With that, he walks back to the club and life awaiting him … Marlena asks Will about his new article. Will has big plans, He is going to interview his secret subject again and get the REAL story he is hiding, no matter what he must do … Meanwhile heartbroken Paul sits all alone at the park … THE END Ahead on DAYS: Jordan wants to know the story of Chad and Mel. Brady faces a bewildering New Year's Eve ... Paige confronts JJ! |
