There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... JJ calls Paige to meet at the park but tell no one! She gets her bag and books, but Eve wants to knows where she is going. She lies to the library. Eve suspects she is sneaking out to see JJ. Paige pretends she is giving him space. Eve is relieved. Once alone, she mutters that boy had better stay away from her daughter … Meanwhile at Horton house, Jen wants a word with JJ, curious where he is going. Just to … Jen smiles to meet Paige and wishes them well. JJ pretends to be pouty about thinking they will not be able to overcome. He is down on himself about his ... actions. Jen gives him a pep talk. She regrets not telling her son the truth about the past, though she feels he needs to see to someone for resolution. He reluctantly agrees. Jen mentions Marlena. JJ thanks her for caring and heads out for a so-called head clearing walk ... Nicole is at Salem square rummaging in her purse for her missing digital recorder. Perhaps it fell out chez Dan. She is not looking forward to dealing with Mel’s mouth again, then gets distracted by a photo she accidentally finds of herself with Eric in happier times. She tears it up and decides Dan’s place it is … Brady is visiting with Eric to wish him well with the new apartment. He now broaches the subject of Theresa. As Eric drinks his ale like a civilian, Brady updates him on Theresa acting like she was pregnant. She almost seemed to believe it but the test showed otherwise. Eric will talk to her. Worried Brady thinks that would be wise for Theresa has few friends … Theresa kisses patient Paul in his hospital room and he flirts again until she goes. Then he frowns, his focus on another … At the club Sonny snaps Adrienne should just say what she has on her mind. And so she does. She has seen Paul Norita and knows Sonny must have! Adrienne is suspicious of the timing of Paul being in Salem when Will is not. Sonny insists he came for surgery and it is a coincidence. Adrienne advises him to make his relationship status clear to him … Dan wonders who is calling for Mel. The raven haired creature coos she is … a friend, and wants to know if she has returned yet. Dan senses something and asks for a name. She would rather give no name, wanting it to be a surprise. Dan offers to pass on her name and number IF he hears from his daughter. He hangs up and updates Maggie on the curious call. He heard something strange in the woman’s voice and she blocked her caller ID … Meanwhile Mel is at the house of Kiriakis, believing herself to be in the clear. She heads to the hospital to say hello to Maxine, who is away from the nurse’s station. When she accidentally collides with Theresa, Theresa drops her papers and calls her an idiot. Mel meets her glare and they exchange words. Theresa picks up her papers. Mel tries to help and finds out they are fans of the same group. Mel went to their European concert. Theresa is impressed. Why oh why did she come back from Paris? Mel was hoping to get her old nursing job back. Theresa thinks this is one boring place then gushes she does enjoy some of the perks. Such as? Getting close to a hot secret patient! Mel compliments her on her purse and smiles it was nice to meet her. Theresa asks for her name but is too late. Mel is on the move … Dan opens his knocking door to stylish Nicole, who blurts out her recorder might have fallen out of her purse when she was taking a shower. Maggie makes a snide remark about the state of her own shower. She frostily departs and Nicole apologizes to Dan for any misunderstanding. Dan lets her know he spoke with Eric. Why? He informed him of their return to … friendship. Nicole is intrigued to hear Eric wanted to know if there was more than mere friendship between them. Dan drawls he told him the truth. Nicole questions what that truth even is! Paul is trying to move his shoulder. Enter solemn Sonny. Paul approaches with stars in his eyes. Sonny stops him. The past can never be repeated! Mel is walking outside in the darkness and apologizes on her phone to Maggie for not getting back to Dan’s place as early as promised. The call ends. Mel suddenly stops in her tracks and fears she is being followed. She tells herself no one is there and keeps on going. Elsewhere in the darkness, Eve is walking to the square when she gets a call from unseen unheard Kimberly. Shane has been hospitalized for tests! She thanks her for calling and promises to call to check in on daddy tomorrow … In the park, JJ is grateful for Paige’s discretion. His dream girl does not understand. JJ dramatically declares he loves and wants to be with her. She feels the same way. JJ explains they can be together but only if their relationship is kept secret from the whole world, including their mothers! Especially the mothers! Paul smiles it has been almost three years since he last had any contact with Sonny, hence his enthusiasm. Sonny solemnly reminds him he wanted to pretend he was someone else. Paul points out he longed to go public but his sports careers would not have survived. They were together for the most wonderful year and would be together now if Sonny had not made him choose. Sonny harbors no bad feelings and feels their parting company was for the best. He holds up his hand and the wedding ring sparkles. Paul’s face falls. Sonny explains He met his soul mate. Paul reminds him he had said he was the one. Sonny shrugs he was wrong. Paul persists. In fact, he believes they are far from over … Eve spies Eric all alone at the festive town square. She has been Christmas shopping, trying to enjoy the "most wonderful time of the year" … Brady greets Adrienne at the club. Adrienne the gossip heard all about Theresa’s fake pregnancy from Victor and thinks Brady should thank his lucky stars the girl did not drag him into a miserable marriage. Theresa is standing nearby and assumes Brady is the one wanting to gossip. Brady sighs he is very sorry that Victor has been spreading the word. Theresa starts to feel sorry for herself. She suspects Brady regrets the day he met her … At Horton house, Maggie informs Jen that Mel is home forever! Jen is thrilled and notes Abi will be thrilled. Daniel must be thrilled … Maggie is sorry for their split and wonders how she fares. Jen explains it is not easy but the time has come for both her and Daniel to move on without each other … Dan reminds Nicole that despite the attraction they are only friends. That was precisely what he told Eric. Mel arrives at the apartment and makes a comment about Nicole having clothes on. Nicole leaves with the recorder. Dan lectures his daughter. She promises to be nicer to his friend in the future and decides to make them tea. Dan now brings up the subject of someone calling, claiming to be HER friend though she refused to leave a message. Mel takes it all in. Dangerous music plays … Paige wonders why the secrecy. JJ claims to have issues plus his mom wants him to see a therapist. He suspects the therapist would advise him against a relationship at the moment. Their moms cannot know! Eve especially would scheme up a storm to break them up … Eric loves Christmas. Eve asks how he will fare without being part of the church this year. He grins he watched It’s a Wonderful Life. She giggles she watched the Grinch. He is sorry about her being unable to sing in the holidays. She brings up the blessing that is her daughter. Eric met her and was impressed. The pair decide to have a drink together and discuss but before they can … Eric notices Nicole, who stands and stares at him with longing. He stares right back. Eve cannot help but notice ... Theresa hides her hurt by boasting about the perfect guy she now has in her life. Unlike Brady, he appreciates her … Sonny states his relationship with his hubby is better than what he and Paul had. He speaks of the wonderful wedding, the ability to love without shame or hiding. That was not possible with Paul. Paul woefully shakes his head and looks away. Sonny wishes him happiness. Paul scoffs his life is a dream. He is an admired all-star! Sonny is aware he is rich too but money cannot buy him happiness. That lie he is living does not seem to be much of a dream. Sonny feels Paul made his choice. Paul points out Sonny made his too … Mel pours hot water into the mugs and reminds Dan she has a friend moving to Salem. Dan finds it all highly irregular the woman would not leave her name and blocked caller ID. Mel stammers to say she is not here if anyone he does not know calls again. Dan demands she confide in him. He knows for a fact that something is not right! Soulful Sonny decides to depart. Paul worries about how much his husband knows. Sonny notes he gave his word to protect his secret and he did so. Paul appreciates it. Sonny cannot believe he continues to live a lie. Paul sadly states it was not cos he did not love him. Sonny knows and that is the worst part! Then he departs. Paul’s eyes fill with tears … Eve excuses herself and suggests she and Eric have that drink another time. Nicole assures Eric she and Daniel are only friends. Tragic music plays as the fallen father claims he does not care and it is not his business anyway. Offended Nicole starts to walk away ... Paige loathes lying to her mother. JJ loathes lying as well but it is the only way. They share a tender kiss in the dark park. He suggests she get home before her mom gets suspicious. They agree to meet back here at their special spot tomorrow after class. Paige goes and JJ goes the other way. Seconds later Eve emerges, livid that JJ the liar double crossed her. She will make him pay dearly … Theresa overhears Brady on a business call at the club. Tomorrow he is already booked for lunch, meeting an old friend who is back in town. After the call, she wiggles to his table, noting he is moving on. Brady insists he is only having lunch with a friend. Theresa hopes she is a dull damsel and departs in a huff. Brady sighs … Daddy Dan wants to help. Mel pretends she dated a guy in Europe who had a psycho ex and makes light of it. Dan has his doubts but the hospital pages him to ER. They will talk tonight! Mel ushers him out the door, then tries to regroup. She takes the big money out of her purse and checks outside the window. Horror of horrors it might have been THEM … The raven haired woman confers with her flunky in his office, confident they will know by tomorrow if Mel the schemer is in Salem with her father. If so, this will all END! Ahead on DAYS: Hope learns another thing about Aiden. Eve schemes against JJ. Kate experiences the wrath of Rafe! |
