Hope carries in colorful bags of gifts for the children at the hospital. Kayla finds out they are from Aiden and wonders about Hope seeing him. Detective Hope dismisses the gossip and adds she is really just bothered because he is not Bo … At the festive Horton house the children frolick. Julie corners Aiden and claims she read something online that showed a different side of him … At Dan’s apartment, Parker opens his gift as Victor, Maggie, and Dan look on. Mel has thoughts of Brady on her mind as she flashes back to their romantic moment at the park the night before. Dan deduces his daughter is distracted … Brady is pleasantly surprised to find John on his doorstep. Father and son share an emotional embrace … Marlena, Kate, and Will fuss over Ari at the apartment. Sonny takes a call from biz partner Chad, who casually asks about the new club’s opening date. Sonny states he is hoping for a mid-January launch … All of a sudden Marlena feels that Arianna has a fever … Theresa pays Eve a visit at her apartment. Eve is in a state but will not elaborate. Theresa gives her a gift of Christmas records and assumes JJ is being a jerk … Paige approaches JJ at the square with a present and stars in her eyes. He gives her a distant stare and is not smiling as he clutches his bag of groceries … Doug joins Julie, also interested in the other side of Aiden, who gulps … Mel innocently asks if Brady will be at the Horton party today. Of course! Maggie and Victor get going to help trim the tree and Dan turns to his daughter. Did she have some kind of fight with Brady? Mel stammers no and praises him for heroically helping her not once but twice … John and Brady have a heart-to-heart at the house of Kiriakis. John hopes he did not return too soon. Brady insists he should stay and be a part of his life. John is much moved. Brady grins like a new man … Paige explains to JJ that Shane was not as ill as they thought and so here she is. She wants a kiss but he coldly steps back … Abe admires Theo at DiMera mansion playing with the great game from Uncle Chad. Chad now hands him the phone and Stefano wishes the grandson a Merry Christmas. Theo is excited to hear from Nono. Abe mutters to Chad that it seems Stefano the great and powerful will never be able to beat those tax evasion charges and is therefore not going to ever come back. Chad the cad smugly states they can find a way to go on … John promises to let Brady be the master of his own destiny. Brady hopes he will still tell him if he thinks he is screwing up. Agreed. Brady now gushes there is someone John simply has to go see and he will tell him where to find her .. Will has called the hospital and is told Arianna should stay home in case her little cold is contagious. Kate the businesswoman nominates Marlena to stay with her. Marlena doesn’t mind and sends Will and Sonny off to Horton house … At Horton house mini diva Ciara orders the other kids to take care of the ornaments they are carrying … When Victor and Maggie arrive, the redhead mentions a mysterious package that absentee Lucas ordered … As Aiden anxiously helps himself to some punch, he learns Doug and Julie were actually referring to an article that painted a picture of him as a legal shark. They are impressed … Kayla is really only concerned about Hope. Hope wishes she would drop it and haughtily heads back to Horton house,where Aiden and the others await … Aiden gets another kiss from Hope. The guests slowly stream in ... Maggie has an announcement to make. After Will wed the hubby of his dreams, Lucas ordered his Horton ornament. Jen now presents the personalized ornament to Sonny, who happily hangs it on the Horton tree. Will hangs his next to that one and the pair share a tender kiss … The remaining ornaments of Hortons past and present are hung, as well as those related by marriage … Victor and Maggie kiss … Hope steps up with Ciara … Aiden observes … Julie gets glum about Nick’s and later sighs to Will he would be here if not for Gabi … Jen now heads to the hospital along with others for the reading of the Christmas story. This year Abe steps up as Maggie’s last minute Santa, along with Theo the elf. The Christmas story is read by Abigail to the hospital children. Santa Abe then leads the group in Silent Night. Their voices carry like all the Whos in Whoville … Back at the apartment, Marlena is unable to interest Ari with her bunny puppet when all of a sudden … Knock knock! Tis man in black John, who suavely drawls Merry Christmas doc! She smiles at him with stars in her eyes … Eve is vague but insists to Theresa that Paige and JJ will not last. She wonders why she is in a mood. Paige remembers seeing Brady on the bench with Mel and will only say she intends to handle a certain situation ... Paige gushes to her guy that she told her mom nothing will break them up and reaches forward to hand him his gift. JJ recoils and refuses to accept it … Kate waltzes into DiMera mansion, only to hear Chad on the phone with Stefano. The mafia king in the red tie assures his son he is having a splendid holiday abroad. He saw Kristen and spent time with Simone. Kate makes a snide remark about him paying for the services of wanton women. Stefano chuckles to put Katarrrrrrina on the phone. Done … John gushes he knows he and doc have a lot to discuss now that he is back where he belongs ... She happily invites him to help her with Ari and so he does, impressing her with his puppet skills . Marlena watches warmly … Stefano taunts Katarrrrina the lonely heart. She hisses she is not alone. He cackles about Billy Bob and she snaps to watch his health, then hangs up. Kate now turns on sarcastic Chad for playing games just like his father. She knows he is up to no good with timid Tammy Sue! Once alone Chad starts to call Jordan … At Horton house, Dan thanks Jen for inviting him and Parker. Jen gushes he is always welcome in her home. Dan blushes. Woman in red Mel waves at Brady across the crowded room. He meets her gaze with interest and waves right back. He then pulls up a stool and sits opposite her, teasing to stop playing with her phone but the moment is cut short when Ciara pulls him away to play with the kids … Kayla is doing her darnedest to avoid Aiden at the party … Mel stands up but the smile fades from her pretty face when she spies Nick’s ornament on the tree, Gabi’s in the box below … JJ snaps at Paige they are done and takes off. Paige is heartbroken and heads home, explaining to Eve she has a headache and JJ was busy with family … JJ gets home to the celebration, feeling like a lost soul … Maggie stands to make the annual Christmas speech. They have loved and lost this year, new bonds bloomed, but this house will always be their haven, as declared by the late great Tom and Alice Horton. For all the days of their lives! The guests wish each other a Merry Christmas as Doug and Julie steal a kiss. Tom and Alice’s ornaments shine brightly on the festive tree. A new year is just around the corner … THE END! |
