There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At Horton house JJ has put on Noel Noel. Jen likes Jack's old favorite and gushes to Abigail it is great to have a baby in the house. Ding dong! Doug, Julie, and Claire arrive. JJ tries to make his sad sister feel better. She feels down about Chad, who is having red wine at the club while romancing the Belle! Diva Belle admits she and Shawn are ending their relationship. Chad asks what happened. She cheated! Chad peers at her with his piercing blue eyes ... Victor sighs he is in no mood to celebrate with the sea of Hortons. He leaves Maggie at the square to speak to Lucas, who is finding it a hard day without Will. We all feel his pain. He tells Maggie he is trying to honor Will and not feel sad but he just saw a Faulkner book in the store window. Maggie gives him a sympathetic embrace ... At the town house, John tells Marlena not to move and gives her a passionate kiss under the mistletoe. Nobody does it better. She reminds him they cannot miss the party as Lucas needs them. John suggests it is not a good idea to go as he remembers Ed's revelation about the hit out on him ... Kate is following lonely Ed outside ... They go for a walk at the square and she thanks him for helping her have the charges dropped for breaking the store window. Roman teases to stop breaking windows and wishes her and baby a Merry Christmas. She thanks him and keeps walking ... Outside Horton house, Lucas gets a texted Christmas card from Allie via Sami. He breaks down ... Inside Doug declares it is time. Victor steps aside to discusses the latest drama with Hope. He vows to make whoever did this to her and his son PAY dearly ... Belle refuses to talk Sami. Chad implies the old man had it coming. Belle believes he is out for blood. Chad tells her he is her friend and will not let his father or family cause her any harm. Then he clasps his hand over hers and looks deeply into her eyes. Anguished Abigail comes into the club and soap stares at the scene ... Abigail sarcastically wishes Chad a Merry Christmas and recalls how he was planning their future hours ago! He snaps this is not the time or place so go. Abigail accuses him of doing Andre and Stefano's bidding as he is not acting like himself. She intends to find out what is going on ... Kate wonders about Ed's Christmas day. He solemnly states he is leaving on a business trip. She whispers it sounds important. It is ... John assures Marlena that Ed was on the level. She worries he would still not be able to stop the hit so what now? John considers ... Doug announces to the family they know they have been hit hard and cannot bring back their lost loved ones. However, decorating the tree celebrates their family and will do so for all the days of their lives. He tells Abigail and JJ to be the custodians of the tradition when he is gone. JJ accepts and Julie puts her head on her hubby's shoulder. Jen hugs her kids and Claire smiles like a blonde angel. Maggie is a vision in green beside glam Julie, and presents Abigail with her baby's ornament. Hope explains there are Hortons and designated Hortons who are part of the family. Ciara hands Chase his ornament and he is overwhelmed. Hope hugs him. They all do and welcome the lost lad to the family. Abigail takes a deep breath ... Marlena worries about John trusting the word of a stranger and questions Ed's ability to stop the hit. John tells her he had the same training and feels he will get his job done ... Sexy music plays as Kate shows Ed a card to the Skyward Club, which is new. He thanks her and she kisses him. Ed is entranced. Their eyes lock with longing ... Ornaments are hung on the Horton tree for Bo, Hope, Ciara, Chase, Doug, Julie, Addie, Janice, and more. Maggie stands by sad Lucas as he hangs WILL's ornament. It stands out just as he did ... Many ornaments are already there, including Dan, Parker, and Melanie. Victor happily hangs his with Maggie and they kiss. The other ornaments in the box are hung, including the one for Jack ... Lucas places his beside Will. Sonny's is next to Will. The song playing in the background is about making one last wish and never letting time end, never letting you go ... The last ornament is ALICE. They all stand and survey the Horton tree of life, which began with Tom and Alice ... Chad follows Belle outside. She is not impressed he led on Abigail. He suggests they not let her spoil the evening. Belle haughtily lets Mr. DiMera know she intends to be careful of him so see ya. Then she clicks away into the night ... Doug hopes Julie feels more in the spirit. She loves what he said to the kids, cries Alice would love it, and kisses him ... Ed is sorry he has nothing for remarkable Kate. She muses Santa must have thought he was a good boy and gives him a wicked look ... Marlena laments she was not expecting such an evening. John is sorry and strokes her shoulder. She does not want to live their lives in fear. He feels it would be best to stay in tonight. She smiles there are worse things than spending this night with the man she loves and they snuggle on the sofa. John emotionally agrees it's a wonderful life and gets a tear in his eye ... Ciara asks JJ to play his guitar. The guests all agree. JJ sits and strums God rest ye merry gentlemen. He sings and Claire joins in. They sound vibrant and full of life ... Ed happily sits with Kate at the park and points at the stars ... John and Marlena are sitting in the dark with eggnog when Belle returns. She joins her parents ... Chad drinks alone at DiMera mansion ... Abigail is sitting alone in her room with her baby ... The song ends. A piano tinkles and the Horton ornaments glow with goodness. THE END! |
