There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... At the park, John is suspicious that his assassin would warn him in advance and stares him down. He wants more. Ed warns him these people who want him dead are dangerous. John eyes him. Who are they? Ed updates him on Winterthorne being a special school for orphans. Those who did not break were sent to a secret training facility. John drawls for assassins. Ed does not deny it. The whole school was nothing but a recruiting front ... At the club, Belle complains to Marlena she cannot even afford an assistant for the law practice she is starting in Salem. Marlena is preoccupied. Belle notices. She admits she was attacked in her office and Chad may have been involved. Her office was searched. Belle is dismayed she did not tell the police due to Sami's deep dark secret. Marlena gets a call as Belle gets another text from Sami about doing good with the rest of the money she just sent her. They then continue their conversation. Belle laments how hard the parental separation is on Claire. Marlena advises how to help her daughter though the holidays. But she is less than thrilled to hear Belle is back on speaking terms with Phillip ... There is heaviness in the air at the dark DiMera mansion. Stefano is angry about Andre's audacious actions against his other son. As Andre elegantly assures fatha that Chad will be their salvation, Chad is woken up by Abigail at his hotel room door. She gushes she bears good news. She gets to take Thomas home but Chad has changed his tune. He stares at her coldly. She assumes they will want to start their life together after they pick up Thomas but Chad suggests she do so alone for he cannot be with her. She reminds him of his words of love. He impassively informs her he merely said what she needed to hear. Besides that baby is not even his! He refuses to turn his back on Stefano and Andre for his family needs him. Abigail is astonished ... Detective Rafe is at the station, deep in thought. D.A. Justin comes in, complaining about the Hope drama being bad for the department. Rafe retorts she is innocent. Justin retorts to get off his ass and prove it. Rafe intends to do just that ... Hope hides her police papers behind a cushion when Ciara comes home. She claims it was just an old case she was reviewing. Ciara wants a Christmas tree and insists her mother not forget Christmas for her sake. She needs the holidays. Moments later Rafe arrives for a word with Hope. Hope advises her daughter to go ahead and get the tree. Exit Ciara, babbling about the biggest tree. Rafe is sympathetic about everything. Hope starts to tell him about her Malcolm research. Rafe would rather do the investigating on his own and insists she stay out of it. He is aware she is keeping her arrest a secret from Ciara and is sorry for the stress. He promises to be here for her ... At the square Steve is on the move. He gets sarcastic when he runs into D.A. Justin. He is not impressed with the husband who cheated on his sweet sister. Justin explains he suffered too and suggests they both help Adrienne move forward. Steve scoffs. Justin now warns him as the D.A. not to dare interfere with police matters, now that he has a Sam Spade agency with John Black. Steve calls him a pompous ass. Justin goes on his arrogant way and Ciara comes around the corner. She excitedly greets Uncle Steve and enlists his help with the Christmas tree. How can he refuse? Meanwhile Kayla demands evil Ava get the hell off her pristine property. Ava woefully walks in anyway. Kayla is about to call the cops when Ava asks for forgiveness. Kayla snaps she set in motion the plane flight from hell in which her father perished. Ava now drops a bombshell. She is dying of leukemia. Kayla doubts anything from the liar's lips but does give her a glass of water ... John digests the news that he is a trained assassin. Ed laments he has blood on his hands. John suspects there are such things in his own secret memories that are locked somewhere in his brain. He alludes to his murky Stefano days. Ed confides how the people of the program found him again after he had gone underground. He emerged in Salem to bury his daughter and was ordered to assassinate John. John intends to find a way to neutralize the threat. Ed advises him he is already working on it and the two men exchange an understanding glance ... Abigail believes Chad is withdrawing as he wants to protect her from dangerous father Stefano. Chad coldly claims the baby is not his, hence his disinterest. He makes it crystal clear he cannot be with her. She pushes him, slaps him across his frozen face, and storms out sobbing. Chad stares into space, void of any emotion. At the square Abigail sits and cries. Gabi comes upon her and she updates the girl on Chad's strange and sudden change of heart. Gabi sighs about his other side but the more Abigail speaks of it, the more she is convinced he was not himself ... At the DiMera mansion, Stefano is blasting Andre that he had better be right about brainwashed Chad being the only way to get to Belle and therefore Samantha of stolen money fame. As Andre calmly assures him it is, ignoring his threats, Chad appears with no expression on his face. Andre is elated and asks him about Abigail. Chad numbly answers he left her for the family and her baby is not even his. Andre asks about Belle. Chad admits he did see her and his head starts to hurt. He informs Andre he knows he stopped his session with Marlena. His head has hurt since then but he too is totally committed to tracking down Sami for the family fortune. Andre grins greedily. Stefano watches with suspicion ... Steve happily helps Ciara get the big Christmas tree inside. She insists Rafe stay a while to help decorate. Steve assists in putting up the tree. Ciara takes Rafe upstairs to help her bring down the decorations. Hope updates Steve on what happened, how she was arrested for murdering Malcolm after she got Ciara away from the kidnapping bad guys. Steve is aghast and advises her to leave it to Roman, Rafe, and Victor. The bad guys in this case are more than a little bit dangerous. He was worried something like this would happen ... Ed stops Gabriella at the square and asks whether he can give Ari a gift. Gabi smiles to come see her as well at Christmas and excuses her busy self. Ed still looks as serious as ever ... Hope tries to put on a brave face but is missing Bo more than ever. Ciara finds an old snow globe Bo gave her mother once upon a time. Hope wants it to stay out of the box. Rafe helps decorate. They end up alone and Hope thanks him for being a friend and believing in her. He vows to prove her innocence and walks out but he pauses at the door and raises his eyes to the heavens ... Chad arrives at the club and apologizes for Marlena's harassment from Andre, who was attempting to search her office for clues on Sami. He acts like he believes that trail has gone cold for good, then asks Belle for some advice on a legal matter. Against her departing mother's wishes, Belle obliges the DiMera, but warns him that if his clan bothers Marlena again she will take action. Chad is admittedly impressed. He asks her to represent him as he intends to sue the District Attorney for arresting and jailing him. Belle laughs. Chad, however, suggests he is her only professional prospect at the moment ... Meanwhile,at the mansion. Andre coos to fatha that Chad will succeed in sidling up to Belle and lead them straight to Samantha and the stolen money ... Steve arrives home and rages at Ava to get the hell outta his house. He starts to push her out the door and she crumples like a ragdoll on the floor. Steve is surprised ... Belle flat out refuses to represent any DiMera. Chad charmingly takes her by the hand and praises her ability as an attorney, his blue eyes smoldering. Abigail has just arrived at the club and surveys the scene. She then backs out the door and takes a deep breath. It is impossible not to be bothered by Chad's bizarre behavior ... THE END! |
