Sonny is sorry to hear that her father is leaving again. Gabi laments all the loss their child has endured and sighs she still misses daddy Will daily! Now to think that Abigail ... Sonny solemnly states he is not giving up hope. Gabi realizes he has not heard the most recent news. JJ called her just last night with confirmation. Sonny's eyes widen in disbelief ... At DiMera mansion Chad gets off a call with the coastguard. It was not good news. Jen drops by. Chad laments he has lost all hope. Jen gently broaches the subject of his son. Chad snaps at her for hounding him for custody again, after this tragic news ... Affluent Belle and Claire walk away from the square sipping their drinks, laden with shopping bags. Mom and daughter are now in a good place. They sit on a pretty bench together. Claire gushes she loves having her support. She has high hopes for her singing career cos Chloe loves the new song she is writing. Belle acts a bit jealous of her daughter admiring the diva. Claire quips how could they call her ghoul girl! Belle notes that was not her, that was Mimi in high school. Claire knows the history, that Mimi wed Shawn after Belle got married to Phillip. Belle muses things were so mixed up back then. Claire can relate and complains she cares about a boy who is not really over another ... At the square Theo runs into Ciara, who is holding a bouquet of flowers for Jen. He did not get any so she says they can be from them both. She admits she is avoiding Chad at the moment ... Jen argues Chad cannot care for Thomas in such a state. She knows he cannot do it alone. Chad counters he knows for a fact she fell off the wagon again so she is not fit either! Jen mutters they have more options. Chad assumes she is after custody for herself and warns the court would never rule in her favor! Jen declares she just wants to discuss what would be best for Thomas ... Belle believes Claire should be patient for the boy will forget the other girl in good time. She is curious. Claire refuses to divulge his name ... Back at the square, Ciara states she is no longer at the mansion as Chad needs a full time sitter not her. They are ready to offer the Hortons their condolences and stand up. Belle and Claire appear and Claire announces she would like to join her friends to visit Jen as well ... Jen reminds Chad he was actually the one who forced Abigail to go to the institution in the first place. Chad rages she was sick so Marlena suggested it. They bicker over who brought the bad genes, the mental illness to the late Abigail. In the end, Jen warns Chad if he does not put Thomas' interests first, then she will do so for him. She slams the front door behind herself. Chad gets himself a much needed drink ... Back at the pub, Gabi has updated Sonny about Abigail not surviving and is sorry. She is sorry for JJ too. Sonny suddenly asks her a favor of a few minutes ... The teens are at the house with Doug and Julie, Lucas and Adrienne. Jen is not home yet so Adrienne graciously accepts the flowers. Lucas is somber. Doug asks Theo about his life and teases Claire about following in his musical footsteps. Julie already knows all about it. Pretty Claire has high hopes. She wants to be Chloe's backup singer and could use some pointers from Doug the smooth performer. Theo gushes she is great already and Claire gushes he is her greatest fan ... Julie approaches unhappy Ciara and hopes she is alright. Ciara admits she is very worried about Chad, who seems to have no one to help him through this tragic time ... Meanwhile Chad is at the mansion with his drink and his heartbreak. He talks to Abigail's picture and calls her his baby. He believes he has lost her forever. He wants to remember her the first time he saw her ... beautiful ... infuriating ... he called her a brat He muses they were both bratty back then. He puts his drink down and continues. His face reddens as he grieves the loss of the love of his life. They had such plans and he had promised to renovate the spooky mansion for her. He sobs they can still renovate, lets out a war cry, and proceeds to trash the place. First he sends the chessmen flying and then the furniture ... Jenny gets home to Horton house but the teens are already gone. Lucas asks if she is alright and asks what can they do. Julie offers to plan a memorial. Jen snaps no it is too soon. Lucas is sympathetic. Julie gently suggests they speak about Abigail and remember her. Jen agrees to that. Adrienne remembers her stuffed hippo from Jack that mooed. They all laugh. Jen admits she was an uncertain young mom. They assure her she was amazing. Jen recalls how wonderful it was when they worked together and were so in synch. She regrets her daughter often had to take care of her and JJ when times were tough. Julie insists Abigail loved helping, that was the kind of person she was. Jen weeps she is at peace with Jack now and Julie weeps with her. Jen now asks Jack to please take care of their little girl ... The teens are at the townhouse where Claire lives with family. Ciara feels lousy. Theo wants Claire to play a song for them. She sings Amazing Grace a la Adele with her guitar ... Back at the dark mansion, Chad is still at it. Nothing is safe from his rage, not even the books in the bookcase ... Jen thankfully hugs her family ... Belle finds sobbing Chad all alone at DiMera mansion and attempts to console him. She makes him a strong coffee ... Jen tells the family she fears she cannot trust Chad with Thomas. Lucas wonders what she intends to do. Adrienne listens with sympathy. Jen admits she has no idea but is aware even she would not be suitable at the moment ... Chad is still sitting on the floor, surrounded by the mess of his own making. He drinks the coffee Belle made him and explains he was saying goodbye to Abigail. She hated everything in this house and it felt good to get rid of it. He sniffles he has concluded he has no life but that is about to change. Chad DiMera has big plans for the future, plans that will involve Belle. Belle is not sure what to make of it, given his tragic state ... Sonny and Gabi gather at Will's peaceful grave. Sonny chokes back the tears as he places flowers on the grave and tenderly touches Will's plaque. He opens up that he feels Will is not really here but had to come. Sonny could not do this alone and Gabi cries she is here for him as he has always been there for her. Sonny points out one has to protect loved ones. That is what he has learned this past year. He seems to steel himself for what lies ahead ... Adrienne quietly offers to postpone their wedding but Jen insists the celebration go on as planned. Lucas embraces her. He is so sorry for her loss ... Chad announces he wants to make Abigail proud and leave their son a great legacy. His plan is to make DiMera Enterprises rise from the ashes of darkness as something legitimate! Belle supports the bold idea ... until he adds he wishes to hire her to head up the legal side of the transformation. Then her fair face falls ... Theo is out. Claire tells Ciara that things are going good for her and Theo but hopes they will stay friends. Things could be bizarre. Theo returns with food for all. Ciara excuses herself, having gotten the message ... Chad lists perk after perk to bewildered Belle. He tells her she can even keep her own practice, cos he trusts her with their lives! Belle teases that could be the booze talking but Chad knows better. Abigail would approve of him legitimizing the DiMera family name. Belle will give it some thought after they clean up. Chad takes another long look at Abigail's framed picture and then helps tidy the trashed room ... Julie and Doug announce they are around for Jen and she is glad for her wonderful family. Julie reads a poem that reminds her of when gran passed. The Hortons listen sadly as she gets to the last words ... DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND CRY I AM NOT THERE I DID NOT DIE ... Meanwhile far away a female weeps in a bed and clutches the mattress with a slender hand. The face is not shown but make no mistake. Tis Abigail wearing her wedding ring ...! BOOM |
