At the station Lani informs JJ she is done with FBI Eli effective immediately. JJ is sympathetic but happy to be her partner again. She thinks that might not happen again ... At the park Hope and Rafe are horrified by what Eli has revealed. Rafe wonders what to do ... Abe puts away his money at the square as Val approaches. He seems anxious to leave but she wants to know what is wrong ... Kayla and Tripp try to convince Joey that nothing will go further than this room. Joey is confused. Steve weeps as Tripp tells his little brother there is no score to settle anymore. Kayla snaps at Steve to let their son speak for himself ... Eli wonders if Rafe and Hope can do as asked. Hope questions whether he has the right person. Eli insists he does indeed ... Abe admits to Val that Theo became embroiled in destroying evidence for the DiMeras in the Deimos Kiriakis investigation. Val blames herself for making him return the lad's laptop. Abe disagrees she is to blame and sighs his son could be arrested as an accessory after the fact. Hope and Rafe suddenly appear. Hope looks haunted but Rafe looks cold ... Kayla gets upset with Steve for acting like their son could be cool going to prison. Steve advises Joey to deal with this in his own way. Kayla jumps in and blasts him. Tripp is in tears. Kayla screams if their son throws his life away it is Steve's fault. Steve disagrees Joe would throw his life away. He has spoken with Roman, who believes he could get a plea deal as he was underage at the time. Kayla is cross he confided in Roman. Joey thinks she should be fair with his father. Kayla cries and implores him not to give himself up ... At the loft Theo admits he did say he wanted to be friends. Now onto the next topic. Claire cutely suggests enjoying the last summer days at the lake with a picnic. She gives him ten minutes to get changed and flounces to her own room ... Lani updates JJ on Raines pressuring her to share proof and threatening to fire her. She countered with her mayoral connection and then resigned from the FBI. Here comes Raines. JJ tells him off and demands he do right by Lani, reinstating her as his partner. Eli now appears asking for a word with Raines as there has been a development. They are close to an arrest in the Hernandez case ... Back at the square Val appeals to Rafe and Hope not to arrest Theo. Rafe solemnly steps forward with Hope as she apologizes to Abe that they have actually come to arrest HIM. Back at the pub, Joey asks for a word alone with his mother. They walk out together. Tripp stammers he is sorry to Steve. He wanted to get Joey to change his mind ... Joey hates causing friction between his folks. Kayla wants him to stop blaming himself. But he cannot bear the thought of them breaking up. Kayla feels they can fix everything if only he stays ... Raines assumes Dario has been found. Eli explains they found his partner. JJ wants to know who. Raines asks if there is evidence. Eli explains he and Lani have been working to get the proof they need. He forewarns Lani she is not going to like it ... Abe pulls rank as the mayor but Hope is sorry to say it will not work. Rafe states he has been named in a counterfeiting scheme. Val protests ... As Theo enjoys the view of Claire in her bikini, across town Abe is informed by Rafe that Dario claimed they were partners in counterfeiting crime. He cuffs him as Hope unhappily reads him his rights. Cameras flash as the mayor is led away. Val stands and soap stares at the sight. Honorable Abe does not look pleased ... Swimsuit Theo thinks Claire looks hot. She asks him to put lotion on her back and he is happy to oblige. Claire gets a flirty look in her eye ... Lani wonders what Eli means. Abe is led in muttering they are making a big mistake. Lani cannot believe it. Abe warns Eli that he was played by Dario and he is an innocent man! FBI Eli glares at him ... Steve asks about Tripp's turnaround. The young man explains how Claire made him come to his senses. He apologized to Kayla, who asked him to talk to Joey. However, he was happy to do so since he does not want his brother to go to prison ... Kayla believes confessing is not the answer. He could get a long sentence and have his life ruined. Joey feels he deserves to pay the price for what he did. She points out he has paid with his guilt and has his whole life ahead of him. He feels first he has to turn himself in and the real reason is HER. Raines taunts arrested Abe, who insists he is innocent. Abe blasts Rafe that his brother played law enforcement by giving a big name to get a big deal. Val agrees. Eli argues he has witnessed Abe's big wads of cash plus the cash he paid the jeweler for her earrings turned out to be counterfeit. He insists they will get the proof they need within the 48 hours they are able hold the fallen mayor. Val and JJ and those who know Abe better believe he has made a huge mistake ... Joey praises Kayla for teaching him to do the right thing. He adds that is exactly what he is trying to do now. Kayla cries ... Theo enjoys rubbing Claire's back and she asks if he is done. Almost but then he starts to kiss her. She jumps up when she sees something on her phone that shocks her ... Eli explains to the group at the station he is only doing his job. Abe threatens to sue them all after he is released and gives Eli an angry long stare ... Steve states he puts his anger aside for his own flesh and blood. That is what he did for Tripp. That is what a parent does for a child. Tripp gets it ... Outside Kayla softly states she understands. Joe asks her to let him do the right thing now ... Claire claims it was only a comment about her song. Theo urges her to be honest. She wants to protect him. He presses so she shows him the trending photo of his arrested father ... Lani blasts Eli for his betrayal and warns him he will not get away with it. JJ tries to calm her and goes after her. Raines commends the boy for a job well done, smug to have such a big fish suspect. Eli now has to ask his mother to hand over the necklace and earrings Abe gave her - as evidence. She drops them to the floor, furious. Before Hope escorts Abe away, Val embraces him and assures him he can count on her. Then stony faced Rafe and Hope lead him away. Val slowly shakes her head at her son ... Tripp wants to make things right with the family. Steve states they always manage to muddle through. Joey now returns with Kayla. He has not changed his mind about turning himself in and Kayla sadly states she accepts his decision. Father and son have a heartfelt hug ... STAY TUNED! |
