At the elegant square cafe Tripp is setting up when Steve and Kayla arrive. He greets his glib cane using father. Kayla selects a table and Tripp helps him sit. He is surprised his sight is suddenly gone. They all are ... Abe has just accused Val of helping her child at the expense of his. Val reminds him Lani was the one who lied. Abe thunders he has heard enough and walks away, as they are done ... At the station Eli promises Lani he will be there for the baby during her pregnancy. She says no ... At DiMera mansion Chad asks Abigail for the truth. He snaps at Stefan who states she already told the truth on the witness stand. Chad looks deeply into her eyes and repeats her claim that Gabi confessed to killing Andre ... Val pays Marlena the emotional healer a visit at her office ... Eli argues JJ will not be around and then apologizes. Lani cries and wishes he would stop. She admits she would have ended the pregnancy if JJ had not changed her mind. She adds this baby will now remind her only of how she ruined her life ... Chad begs Abigail for the truth. Stefan states she gave it to him. Chad shouts at Stefan. Abigail suddenly gets a headache and leaves the room. She dons her Dr. Laura glasses and is about to head upstairs when another splitting headache strikes. Fake Gabi taunts to let her take over. She demands she let her out. Immediately ... Stefan suggests if he were Abigail’s hubby he would show more support. He dares Chad to choose who to believe – Abigail or Gabi ... Fake Gabi insists on a face to face conversation with Laura. The world goes black and white as they meet in Abigail’s mind ... John greets Abe with enthusiasm at the pub and wonders why the long face. Abe sits and sighs Val wreaked havoc for his beloved daughter’s life ... Eli reasons the baby should not suffer but Lani blames them for the mistake. He wants them to make it work as a team. Lani doubles over in pain and gasps the baby ... Tripp sits with his folks as he has ended his shift. He wonders about Steve’s sight. Steve eats his fries and explains how it just vanished but he loves his cool shades. Tripp grins. Kayla gets paged by the hospital and Tripp assures her he can stay. Steve drawls he can babysit his old man. Once they are alone, he apologizes they did not have him over for dinner a while and asks about his world. Tripp wants him to know he is here for him. Steve feels fine but he worries about the woman he loves ... Beautiful blonde Marlena sympathetically listens to Val’s story. She thinks with time Abe will forgive her. Val adds she has no regrets ... John toys with his ale and tells Abe that the grandchild is also Valerie’s. In addition he should be grateful she got the truth out ... Back at DiMera mansion Stefan helps himself to a drink and dares Chad to answer the question. But if he believes Abigail he owes him an apology for accusing him of murder. Chad asks him about the dark haired woman he saw outside his door in Hong Kong. Stefan offers to tell all but first he has to win at chess. Stefano the great would approve. If Stefan wins then Chad must back off but if Chad wins he will have to enlighten him … Meanwhile in Abigail’s black and white mind fake Gabi faces off with stern Laura. She has her own wants and needs like Stefan and refuses to stop until she gets what she wants – with Laura’s assistance. Otherwise real Abigail is going down down down ... Dr. Kayla attends to resting Lani at the hospital, Eli at her side. They wonder why the sharp pains. Eli refuses to leave and announces he is the father ... Val sips her beverage and thanks Marlena, who notes Abe is a fierce father. Val reasons her son counts as well ... John informs Abe that of course Val is on her son’s side and suggests he try forgiveness ... Val weeps at the possibility of losing Abe the good ... Abe admits to John that he never thought he would love again after Lexie. John suggests he get past this and forgive Val ... Marlena advises Val to meet Abe halfway ... At DiMera mansion the great chess off gets underway! Stefan sweetens the deal by adding every time Chad gets one of his pieces he gets to ask a question. The answers will be honest and they agree to keep all secrets in the family ... Fake Gabi the fighter feels she and Stefan are soul mates. She warns Laura to let her have her time with him or else. Laura muses she will have to make it past her first ... Kayla assumed as much and hears even JJ knows. Lani laments she did not want to hurt him. Kayla will do an ultrasound and bloodwork to get to the bottom of the cramps ... Chad’s white knight takes the bishop. Question number one. Did he plant those drugs in Hong Kong? Stefan smugly smiles he did and he is proud he did. Chad tells him to make his move ... Laura tells fake Gabi the trial is not over and she needs her locked away to keep Abigail safe from harm. Fake Gabi fumes like hell ... Steve believes sweetness is being brave but he has felt her hand trembling. He wishes she would stop blaming herself for not being able to find a cure. Tripp asks if he blames anyone. Nope and this is a challenge. Tripp assures him he is not alone but Steve will be no one’s burden. Tripp takes his hand and tells him how finding him changed his life. Steve now does not deny needing him ... In question two Stefan confirms he took Andre’s phone the night of his murder ... Chad’s next question is did he kill Andre. No ... and the next is did Vivian kill Andre? No but they both came upon the body ... Chad looks at Stefano’s portrait and mentions his father’s demands of loyalty. He assumes Stefan did the deed. Stefan reminds him of their chess rules. Chad gets a pawn and now demands to know if the woman in the video with the dark hair was the murderess ... Fake Gabi demands the key to open the door to the outside. Laura refuses. Fake Gabi punches her and gets the key. But Abigail slowly stands up on the DiMera staircase ... Stefan informs Chad the woman in the video did and did not kill Andre. Chad wants clarification. Stefan slyly suggests he win another one of his coveted chess pieces ... Val finds Abe at the pub drowning his sorrows. He asks her to join him when she wonders whether this seat is taken. He peers at her with his perturbed eyes ... Lani admits to Eli no news yet but she is afraid. Eli assures her he is here and begs her to let him be part of their baby’s life. She agrees and is glad he is here with her now ... Chad takes the queen of the night and asks about the woman in the tape. Stefan smirks ... The door is open but only real Abigail has escaped! Abigail storms into Marlena’s office and implores her to help save her from herself ... ... STAY TUNED! |
