Under oath Abigail has implicated bff Gabi in a lie that she actually confessed in the ladies room. D.A. Trask is smug as a bug. Chad is utterly baffled. Gabi stands up and screams it is a lie. Stefan’s eyes flicker and he wonders what is really at play ... Abe sarcastically states Val should be celebrating cos the baby is Eli’s. Lani listens as he accuses her of already knowing ... JJ informs Jen he will be alright speaking with Eli alone... The judge calls for order in the court and tells angry Gabi to sit down. Justin tries to stop her. He urges her to sit and asks her to let him handle it. The judge reminds Abigail she is only to address the attorneys. Trask can now continue. Abigail is asked if she is certain she heard her say she killed Andre. Abigail gets emotional about her friend harming someone so close to her. Justin wants Trask to stop and now has his chance to cross examine. He demands to know why Abigail is lying while under oath ... Lani stands by Abe. Val wonders whether she also told him she wanted to tell the truth about the baby from the start. Lani blasts her for snooping in her private medical file and then blackmailing her. Val argues Eli deserved the truth. Lani accuses her of ruining her and JJ’s life and storms off. Abe is unable to stop her. Val apologizes but Abe has heard enough and departs in disdain ... Back at the station JJ wants a word with Eli man to man. Jen gasps he could go to jail. JJ promises to be peaceful. Eli agrees they should talk and leads him into a room. They agree no more lies. Eli wants to clear the air as well. JJ quips but it is too late for a confession ... Abigail insists what she said really happened. Justin questions why Gabi would confess mid trial and suggests she misunderstood. He asks whether she feels to blame for Andre’s demise and refers to what she said about one of her breaks from reality, how Andre had brought her back. He points out she loved him and was unable to save him. Abigail calmly states they were friends as were she and Gabi. Justin wonders how she could lie about her so-called friend. He argues there is no physical evidence and no one who overheard this strangely convenient confession. He continues to cast doubt on the veracity of her claim. Justin knows she would never harm someone she cared about like bff Gabi. Abigail suddenly gets another splitting headache. Stefan watches Chad watching as she gasps in pain... Val catches up with Abe at the park and implores him to hear her side of the story but he believes he was betrayed as was his daughter ... Eli is truly sorry. He admits he wanted the baby to be JJ’s for all their sakes. JJ wonders if he even wants to be a dad ... Lani returns and greets Jen at the station. Jen points out she paid JJ’s bail and he is speaking with Eli alone at the moment. Lani gets worried. Jen observes her with cold blue eyes, noting it seems she will not be her baby’s grandmother ... Justin wants to keep going. Chad ask how his wife is. Abigail insists she is alright and admits she is distraught about Andre. She wishes she had done something to save Andre after Gabi said she would kill him. She sticks to the washroom story and insists she has no reason to lie. Justin rests. The judge orders a recess. Gabi stands up as Chad blocks her and growls she is going to get some answers from her now ... Lani sits and sobs she is sorry. She was desperate for JJ to be the dad. Jen gets it and agrees he would have been amazing. Lani wishes the secret had not been spilled ... Abe is appalled that Val deceived him for so long about what she knew as she argued away with Lani. She wanted her to tell him the truth but Abe is bitter she withheld the truth from him. She explains she was worried about her past repeating itself ... JJ wants to know about the night Eli and Lani made love. He suggests he did not trust Gabi enough to ask her for an explanation and that is why all their lives were ruined ... Gabi gasps how could Abigail do this! Abigail denies any wrongdoing Trask spies Stefan watching her and teases it seems he is still into Abigail. Stefan denies it and suggests it could be a girl called Gabi who has his heart though she spells her name differently. Then he steps away ... Chad stands between the two women. Gabi cries she will lose it all. Abigail reminds her Andre lost his life and walks out. Chad wants to go after her as Gabi angrily curses her old friend ... Val assures Abe she cares about his daughter but he pulls away, upset she did not come to him. Furthermore she invaded his daughter’s privacy. She is not sorry she defended Eli’s paternal rights ... Jen understands that Lani wanted to make JJ the father but they would have eventually found out her lie. The Hortons were almost destroyed years ago by Mickey’s paternity deception. Lani cries over JJ and woefully wonders whether he will ever able to forgive her ... Eli admits he acted out of anger and now regrets it. JJ suggests there is a way he can make it up - by being the great dad he would have been. He wants Lani’s child to have the dad he or she deserves, one who cares. Eli gets he still cares for the baby and is touched. JJ hands him a pair of tickets to the Cubs finals this year. He tells him to take his kid to opening game every year and make the baby have the best life ... Eerie music plays when Stefan finds Abigail in Dr. Laura mode back at DiMera mansion. She points out she did what she had to do to prevent Gabi from going free. Stefan warns her that Chad did not seem to believe her ... Chad admits to Gabi that Abigail was not herself when she was on the witness stand. He now goes to find his wife and get to the bottom of the matter. Gabi urges Justin to put her back on the witness stand so she can save herself ... Dr. Laura is certain that Chad believed her but Stefan knows he was suspicious. Stefan adds it seemed she would be overcome by Abigail at one point. Laura insists she is here to stay to protect Abigail and announces she is not going anywhere. Enter Chad ... Gabi begs Justin to let her go back on the stand. He warns her Trask would twist her words and urges her to let him argue it is all circumstantial. Gabi reminds him he must do as she asks. The judge comes back and tells him to call his first witness ... Val tries to explain her reasoning to Abe. However his loyalty is for Lani and he walks away ... JJ emerges. Lani hopes he is alright. He sighs he will be. She weeps she is sorry as he walks away with mama Jen. Eli approaches and wants a word about the baby ... Justin glances at Gabi and announces they are convinced the D.A. did not make her case ... Chad asks Abigail why she left the courtroom so abruptly. She stammers she wanted to give Stefan hell about Hong Kong. He tells her now is not the time and asks whether her testimony on the stand was really true. Stefan observes as Abigail’s eyes fill with tears of torment ... STAY TUNED! |
