Chloe would like to know if she is pregnant. Mel quips it is not her business. She only ate something that did not agree with her. Besides, she took pregnancy tests that were negative. Miffed Mel ends the call. Chloe concludes she is lying. Enter Daniel with the movers. It is time. Chloe cries and begs him not to do this. How can she go on? Dan bitterly reminds her Parker should be raised by her, and his father, Phillip. Chloe claims Phillip might not want to raise him! The baby cries. Dan gets tense. Chloe implores him to go to his son, who needs him. Dan, his heart breaking, hands her the keys to her new place. He would now like her to give him back the keys to his place. She hands them over sobbing and takes his arm when he starts to leave. She sobs she loves him so much. Dan looks ready to cry, hangs his head, and takes off ... - Meanwhile, Mel is in Maggie's kitchen, staring in shock at the results of her pregnancy test. Positive! Knock knock. Tis Nath, bearing news that he and Steph are done. He left her! He enters and tells her the whole sordid story of what Steph did, as well as her motivation. Nath adds she feared he and Mel never stopped loving each other - and she is right, isn't she! "I never stopped loving you!" he reminds her, just as they discussed in quarantine. Mel suddenly gasps she is sorry but she cannot talk to him about this right now. She grabs her purse and coat and scurries out ... - Steph opens her door to mama Kayla. She is in tears. "The wedding's off. Nathan left me!" She cries on Kayla's shoulder amid her self-pity. Mama Kayla blames that Carly Manning ... - Caroline is being released from the hospital. Dr. Carly enters her room before she goes. She is curious why she did what she did. Caroline angrily reminds her there would have been no need to do it if Carly had not done what she did concerning Chloe's secret. They have made their choices so now others will decides their fates! - At the loft, Sami excitedly tells Rafe her grandma is being released. "I know," he says solemnly. She wonders what is wrong, The D.A. intends to file charges against Caroline. Sami will not accept it. He or someone must do something to stop them from doing this to her! Rafe explains he was able to pull some strings and arrange for bail to be set. Sami does not seem to understand there will still be a trial so it does not look promising. She and Rafe head to the hospital to pick up Caroline, who proceeds to complain about Carly. Rafe stops her. As he is an officer of the law and court, it is best not to say such things in his presence ... - Stefano meets up with EJ and Lexie at the pub. It is not the ideal place for the family meeting, though the most convenient for Dr. Lexie, who must soon return to the hospital. "This is very important!" he declares. EJ assumes he wishes to lecture him about asking Nicole to marry him. Today is their wedding day, after all. The phoenix advises him to shut up and declares she will never be like family anyway. They all sit down. EJ snacks, looking bored. When papa Stefano finally informs them they have another brother, Lexie is surprised. EJ scowls. Stefano takes a drink and comes clean about his relationship with Madeline Peterson Woods. EJ hopes he is not referring to Chaz. Lexie corrects him it is Chad. EJ calls him a bloody idiot and drinks up. He suspects the boy must have wanted money after hearing the news. Stefano quips he wants nothing from him and nothing to do with him. EJ is pleased and wonders why they are even discussing it. Stefano is annoyed by his reaction. He cannot abandon his son and intends to see he comes out of it. EJ drawls he is not interested in Chad the brat. Stefano rolls his eyes. Lexie quietly listens. - Back at DiMera mansion, bride Nicole is wearing a pretty white dress, mulling over her decision, Enter Johnny, ready in his tux. Nicole assures him she does not wish to replace his mommy, but she hopes to be his friend. He can accept that. Nicole now notices his eye and asks if it is bothering him. "No," says he. She gives him a hug and makes light of it. EJ later returns to the mansion and starts to tell his bride of the day - Nicole - about the D.A.'s son. She interrupts with some upsetting news of her own. She thinks she saw a speck of white in Johnny's other eye. EJ snaps he just had his check-up and it was fine. He suggests she keep her thoughts to herself. She is not a doctor! She agrees and is sympathetic. Nothing is worse than seeing one's child in pain. "I hope and I pray that Johnny is cured forever," she whispers. She prays he will never get sick again. Once she is gone, EJ sits with Johnny and asks if he wants to see a movie. After the lad scampers away, excited about The Temple of Doom, Nicole returns. EJ apologizes and admits he too saw something in his eye. Nicole listens sympathetically as he recounts how Dr. Kim had assured them there was no cancer there. Nicole still thinks he should be seen by a doctor - now. She has read that these things can change quickly in children. - Back at the pub, the now lone Stefano runs into Chad, who scoffs he wants nothing to do with him and starts to leave. The phoenix solemnly states he will listen to his father! He makes him sit down and assures him if he had known he was his child, he would have taken care of him. He would never have abandoned his blood. Chad snaps he was not in his life and he would like it to stay that way. The phoenix promises him the cold and callous behavior of his D.A. dad will not be repeated. He wants him to succeed. Chad thinks he means the money. The phoenix laughs he is thick, like EJ. He wants his son to be a part of his family! - At the hospital, Carly spies Mel and wonders if she will be attending the hearing. Mel retorts she is there to see papa Dan. Carly understands she does not forgive her, and she does not wish to bother her. Being a mother means one tries to make the happiness of a child takes precedence over everything. She steps away. Mel touches her tummy. Carly watches from a distance as Dan approaches his daughter and embraces her. A nurse takes Carly to the hearing and informs Dr. Jonas they will come get him for his testimony. When they are gone, Mel announces she has something important to share with Dan. She feels badly for Parker. Children should not have to suffer because of their parents' mistakes, Nath, now also at the hospital, stares at the father and distracted daughter .... Elsewhere, EJ and Nicole await news of Johnny.EJ is troubled, as Johnny was upset he could not be with him. He is his precious boy ... Nicole reassuringly touches his arm. The hearing is underway. Lexie goes over records which conclude Chloe was the secret patient who was having a paternity test and Daniel Jonas was the father. Daniel is summoned (before Mel has a chance to tell him she is pregnant) - Sami takes Caroline to Steph's apartment, where she will be staying for a while. Caroline worries Nath might not be happy to have her there. Steph updates her that they are no longer together. "Nathan moved out. We broke up." Caroline deduces it had something to do with what they did. Sami is sorry and leaves the two, promising they will talk soon. Exit Sami. Caroline exclaims what the hell is the matter with that boy Nathan! Steph, however, refuses to believe they are over ... - Back at the loft, Sami and Rafe talk about her family's problems and she recalls how much she misses Johnny and Sydney. In addition, she is worried about how Johnny is adjusting to the patch. Rafe points out he likes being like a pirate. He praises Johnny for being brave, smart, and having his mother's indomitable spirit. This will have made him stronger. Sami hopes and prays Rafe is right. "Aren't I always?" he teases. They hug. - Pensive Mel is outside at the snowy pier. Nath approaches. He saw her with Dan and was concerned, as she appeared upset. She smiles faintly. He senses something is wrong and offers to help, cos he truly cares about her ... - Back at the apartment she once shared Dan, Chloe takes one last look around and suddenly tells Parker this will not be goodbye forever. She vows to get his daddy back and get him to love her again! - At the hospital hearing for Carly, Kayla watches intently. Dr. Lexie asks Dr. Daniel whether Dr. Carly ever took a DNA sample from him under false pretenses. Dan's eyes flicker ... - Back at the pub, hothead Chad accuses Stefano of throwing sentimental crap at him and brings up the Sopranos. He would rather be alone than have the shame of being in a crime family like the DiMera clan. Stefano advises him not to be a fool. Chad repeats he is just wasting his time and storms out. Stefano chuckles about the words Chad was using (raison d'être), pleased that his son is as smart as a whip. Ring ring! The phoenix takes the call. "What! No, I have not forgotten ..." - Back at the loft, Rafe reminds Sami one of the things he loves about her is her devotion to her kids. She calls them their kids. He agrees they are his kids, too. She confesses it is getting harder and harder not to be with them. How she wishes something would change ... - Meanwhile, at the hospital. Dr. Kim approaches EJ and Nicole with terrible news. "The cancer has spread to Johnny's other eye. I'm very very sorry." A look of horror comes over EJ's face ... ! Next on Days of Our Lives "Why are you protecting her!" Kayla accuses Dan. Bo faces Hope. "I figured out a way to make warden Smith pay for what she's done." "You really need to hear what we have to say!" Nicole tells doubtful Sami as EJ watches. |
