Soap Sins Tuesday, June 5, 2012 CHAPTER 37 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! PREMIERE NIGHT! Previously on SOAP SINS "Hollywood. home at last! And our show online is gonna be the awesomest ever ..." The story now continues ... - It was premiere night of the world's most exciting soap opera which had officially migrated online. Anybody who was somebody in the soap world had congregated for the premiere party at Hollywood's Hard Knocks Cafe. The red carpet was a bright blur of hair that didn't move, evening gowns, swanky suits, heels that seemed to reach sky high, lipstick, and perfectly arched eyebrows. The paparazzi snapped their shiny digital cameras and some waited for a few second interview. This was the Hollywood machine at its finest and in the midst of it all was our heroine, Dakota Diamonelle. - She was dressed in a gold lame designer creation befitting a star, her hair piled atop her head. When she entered on the arm of her prime time husband, the paparazzi went wild. Dakota smiled and waved and blew kisses as Nick, the prime husband, did his best Clark Gable grin. After the chaos of the red carpet, Dakota waltzed past a thin actress munching on a carrot at the refreshment table. Nick steered them in the direction of his favorite place - the bar. And the drinks were on the house tonight. Evidently this fact was not lost on Brent the blonde surfer dude and the jokester, who were already laughing up a storm at their inane comments. The few paparazzi who had been permitted to photograph the actual party didn't care and snapped away. In the entertainment industry they were still soap hunks. - The techno music was so loud you almost couldn't hear the tanned, toothy bartender ask what your order was. Nick mouthed he wanted two glasses of champagne, then frowned. - "Don't look now. It's that b*tch soap mag editor. Oh wait. She was stopped by Chip, your illustrious producer." He handed Dakota her champagne and took a sip of his. "I still think he faked that heart attack for publicity." - The African queen snatched the glass from his hand and thanked her ex for the champagne. Dakota complimented her on the leather dress she was wearing. No one wore black leather better than the svelte, diva-esque African queen. She returned the compliment by sharing what she had overheard the press say about the premiere episode that had been shown earlier at the theater. Their online soap was a hit. - "We simply must have you on as a guest star," Dakota insisted. "I'll talk to Chip about it." - "Good, because the cosmetics commercials just aren't exciting enough." - Dakota laughed. If only the world knew the acting and modeling was her friend's cover, that she was in reality a secret agent who worked with the likes of Interpol ... - Before she could say another word, an obnoxious blogger who had managed to infiltrate the party stuck a microphone in front of her face, his pal filming with a large camcorder. "Miss Diamonelle, is it true that the show villain will also be rejoining the show, despite having been killed off? Everyone wants to know." - "Of course he will be rejoining the show," she charmingly replied, then excused herself. The last thing anyone wanted to do on opening night was reveal carefully guarded storyline spoilers. In the soap world, they were solid gold. - The following morning, it was back to filming and Dakota was on the move. The morning shoot was at a trendy cafe on Sunset, the afternoon involved a scene in a famous jewelry store, and the evening was to be a scene on a yacht, where she and leading man Bill would be filmed sailing to what was supposed to be the French Riviera. The show had done well with investors and things were looking very good indeed. That is, until Dakota received a shocking phone call that someone very close to her had just been kidnapped .... |
