Soap Sins Tuesday, May 1, 2012 CHAPTER 32 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! DIAMONDS AND DANGER! Previously on SOAP SINS The hot sun emerged from behind some clouds so Dakota put her Gucci sunglasses on with a genuine smile. She had waited tables, danced in questionable establishments, acted, modeled, and lived the glamorous life of a soap star, but she had never been a spy before ...! The story now continues ... - The driver who met the soap opera star and her prime time husband at the airport was a big Hawaiian called Buba. He asked them to keep the limo windows closed at all times. Dakota felt like she was the main character in a made for TV movie. Buba explained he was taking them to the Interpol agent who would brief them about the assignment. - Dakota touched up her lipstick and then snapped her gold compact shut. "What is the agent's name?" - Buba's eyes glanced back from the mirror. "Waikiki Wanda." - Nick now asked about gun permits in the state of Hawaii. - As they pulled into a mansion the size of the Playboy estate, Buba pointed out no guns would come into the picture, as they were on an intelligence gathering mission only. - Nick laughed that Interpol obviously didn't know enough about soap stars. "They attract scandal and excitement like bees to honey!" - The limo came to a stop. Buba opened the door for the lady first. Dakota stepped out and admired the coconut trees lining the driveway. Nick started to babble about the local macademia nut pie being on his to do list. - Buba got back in the limo and sped off. Just when Dakota raised her hand to ring the doorbell of the front door, it was opened by a pretty young maid. - Nick squinted. He had left his Prada sunglasses on the plane. "Are you Waikiki Wanda?" - The maid shook her head and asked them to follow her. They did. Together they walked through the marble foyer, up the spiral staircase, down a hall that was wallpapered with a floral motif. The maid brought them to a closed door and then whispered she would love an autograph. They both obliged. Then the maid too was gone. Dakota opened the door, which led to what appeared to be an office. A man with a ponytail stood up from behind his massive mahogany desk and invited them to enter. - They did and he shook their hands, grinning like a Cheshire cat. When he spoke, it was with an unmistakable South African accent. "Welcome to the compound, as we call it." - Nick noted the place must have been teeming with Interpol agents. Dakota agreed. Nick asked when they would meet their contact Waikiki Wanda. - The South African bid them both sit down on the comfortable sofa. They did. He, however, remained standing. "I'm Waikiki Wanda." - Dakota crossed her legs in the sundress she was wearing. "We were told you would brief us on this mission. We only have two weeks to help until the new studio is ready. Then I'm expected back in Hollywood." - "Of course." Waikiki Wanda opened a drawer in his desk with a key and produced a velvet bag. He removed what was inside and held up a large diamond. "This mission is about diamonds. There is nothing tougher than a diamond." - Dakota smiled. "I am!" - Nick agreed with a chuckle. - Waikiki Wanda now produced a photograph and passed it to the soap star. "Our reason for requesting your help will become clear once you have seen this man's face. He was one of our top agents until he went rogue. Now we suspect he is dealing black market diamonds and has made the worst kind of enemies." - Dakota accepted the picture and gasped. It was a headshot of a man who was the spitting image of Chip the producer. But it wasn't. The smile was not as crooked and the eyes were slightly larger. "Was this airbrushed?" - "No, but as you can see the resemblance is ironically striking. And until this man is stopped, everyone on your soap opera is in a great deal of danger ..." |
