Soap Sins Monday, February 27, 2012 CHAPTER 24 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! A NEW DANGER! Previously on SOAP SINS Dakota started to open her red lips to share her own plan when the unmistakable sound of a whizzing bullet interrupted the tranquility of the evening and shattered the window next to her. Someone, it seemed, was already onto them ...! The story now continues ... - "I've been shot!" Brent the blonde surfer dude exclaimed as he held up his hand. - Nick, who had also dropped to the floor, squinted at his hand. "Is that blood?" - Dakota shook her head. "My lipstick. Brent and I crashed into each other." She slowly stood up, now that at least a minute had passed. - Brent, realizing it was indeed lipstick on his hand, went into macho mode, in an attempt to cover for the fact that his reaction had been nothing short of what you would expect of a ninny. "The shooter's long gone by now. Must have been a warning shot. No need to be scared." - Dakota surveyed the shattered window. Nick was soon at her side, his arm around her waist. "I'm not scared. They wanted to spook us," - Nick frowned. "I think we need to call the cops. This has gone far enough ..." - Dakota shook her head. "That would mean blowing your cover. Then we will never be able to get close to Tony the mobster to find out why Chip called him just before your plane went down in Tibet." - "She's right," Brent agreed. "What about the window though?" - "I can have Hank the handyman come by later to clean up the glass and cover it until another one is custom made." She stepped over some shattered glass. - "I take it you still intend to meet the mobster at the fashion show," Nick sighed. - She flashed a smile. "Of course, darling!" - "Guess I'd better get going," said Brent. - Dakota insisted he spend the night in one of her guest rooms, just in case some sort of danger awaited him at the condo he rented. To this Brent replied that the only danger he ever saw at that place was his dumb, dishonest landlord. - "I agree," Nick chimed in. - "That my landlord's an a**hole?" - "I was referring to the danger there could be. And you live alone. Be our guest, we'll do our best." - Brent quipped he sounded like a Disney commercial. Nick laughed and suggested they keep drinking the champagne until it was gone. They did. Meantime the two armed guards Dakota had called her security company to provide arrived and took their positions at the front and back doors respectively. They were both packing heat and they looked like Chippendales dancers. - The next day, Dakota found herself seated in the front row of the fashion show, a few seats away from Tony the mobster. As soon as she had demurely crossed her legs in her red mini, however, the few seats had been reduced to one, as Tony the mobster nosily insisted on changing seats with the L.A. Times reporter who had been on her left side. He introduced himself to the soap star as the first of a dozen retro wedding dresses was modeled on the runway. Within minutes they were en route to the Polo Lounge for dinner. Within the hour, she had him eating out of the palm of her hand and was about to learn the shocking connection he had with one she had always trusted. Someone even closer to Dakota Diamonelle than Chip the shifty-eyed producer was a dangerous mole ...! |
