| Soap Sins Monday, January 2, 2012 CHAPTER 16 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. LINK ONLY! SHOWTIME! - Dakota had a new ally in the jokester, who now melodramatically kissed her on the hand every time he saw her at the studio. True to form, he cracked up the crew as they filmed his first scenes, causing retakes. Chip the producer was upstairs, though, so what he didn't see wouldn't hurt him for the time being. Besides, a lot of loyal fans had returned to the show with the jokester, which proved he was more of an asset than a liability. - Dakota felt good about helping to bring him back. It was good for him personally and also good for the show, which meant her too. A win-win situation. Another thing going her way was the fact that on the few days a week he was not in her hire, Odysseus the statue come to life bodyguard had been filming a pilot for the same network. The test groups were positive about his on screen presence and he had already developed a fan club, even though the show was not scheduled to air for another two months. - The time had come to promote them as a hot and heavy couple, and the studio was going to do it in their usual sneaky way. - Dakota and Odysseus were first outfitted by the wardrobe people, she in an off the shoulder peach dress, he, in a tight white shirt and skintight jeans, no underwear. Together they went to Venice Beach at the planned time. There they were to stop at an ice cream vendor, at which time the photographer who was tipped off would get his pictures. It was the perfect plan. Well, almost. - Dakota and Odysseus strolled arm-in-arm along the busy boardwalk, past a tattooed juggler, and came to stand by the ice cream vendor. Dakota sighed and told Odysseus to hurry up. She did not want to be late for her appointment at the nail bar on Rodeo. - Odysseus raised an eyebrow and she repeated to hurry up and kiss her already. Within seconds, however, she felt her Gucci purse roughly snatched from her arm and let out a scream. The paparazzi behind the juggler began to snap pictures. Odysseus sprang into action and sprinted after the thug who had stolen the purse. The bearded thug was wearing a bike helmet and goggles. Realizing Odysseus was behind him, he dropped the purse, ran to a nearby bicycle, and jumped on it, riding furiously away. Within seconds he was gone. Odysseus bent over to retrieve the Gucci bag. Dakota came up behind him, out of breath. People pointed and stared, recognizing the soap star. Odysseus handed her the purse and she hugged him in gratitude. Then he kissed her on the lips. Dakota went into soap heroine mode and kissed him back the way the audience would have wanted. The crowd applauded. The paparazzi snapped more pictures. - Dakota was relieved it was over and went to the nail bar. The stress of the almost robbery that had unexpectedly compounded the staged kiss had given her a migraine. She was getting a much needed head massage at the spa beside the nail bar when Chip the producer called and told her to take the next day off. - Once he got off the phone, Chip paid the bearded soap stuntman the amount promised, thanking him for his services. "You done good," he chuckled, "and she didn't even recognize you!" - Within hours, photos were all over the place of Dakota Diamonelle's new actor boy toy playing the hero by getting her purse from a purse snatcher at the beach. Their passionate kiss pic was one hot commodity. - Dakota had no idea the robbery had been staged. Her letter writing "stalker" from Colorado had no idea, either. But the picture of his angel kissing her latest paramour incensed him. The time had come to get her attention, and he knew exactly how and where to do it. She wouldn't even see it coming. He stood up and hoped he would be able to sneak into Hollywood before the authorities realized he was on the loose ... |
