Stefano sighs and gestures for him to make it vanish. - "Do you not desire to hear the story of how Clyde came to raise you? One ought to know one's history." - Ben keeps walking though Ciara stops and turns back. "Has Clyde been working with Orpheus again?" - Stefano smiles a sly smile. "You do not trust him, no?" - Ben doubles back with a growl. "Why should I trust you?!" - Stefano extinguishes his Cuban cigar and slips it into the pocket of his dark Italian designer jacket. He then holds up his unarmed hands. "Clyde Weston worked as one of my guards once upon a time. He was not significant and took his orders from another guard, but stumbled upon a secret one night when he found my mistress in the garden weeping. She was pregnant with my child and feared I would take the baby from her after it was born. She offered Weston money to hide her until the birth so he arranged for her to stay at his humble home in Poplar Bluff until the birth. She had a difficult labor and died. Naturally I did not know this at the time. Weston the idiot wound up in prison while his wife raised the baby with her daughter from another marriage. Years passed. When Weston went home, he planned to sell my son back to me and made contact with Joseph Bernardi, a Salem officer on my payroll. Bernardi intended to tell me everything, but was shot dead by Samantha Brady after he went after that moron Rafael Hernandez. Mamma Mia Samantha and her men!" - Ciara raises her hand. "No, that is wrong. It was actually a nurse you had on your payroll who killed Bernardi." - The phoenix chuckles. "She is a smart one. However, the end result remains. Bernardi lost his life before he could tell me about my son, whom Weston had named Ben." - "Still haven't given me a reason to believe you," Ben scoffs. - Stefano orders Rolf to show him the dramatic DNA report ...
