In the film Fatal Attraction, Alex, an obsessive woman, stalks and threatens the family of a married man with whom she had a fling. The man does not tell his wife until the situation escalates. The obsessive ex-lover gets creepily close to the family, breaks into the family’s house and is eventually killed, with viewers on the edge of their seat! On Days of Our Lives, enter Ava, a young woman who proceeds to stalk Steve and his family, obsessed with her ex-lover and wanting revenge. Like the man in Fatal Attraction, Steve has a wife and daughter. Like the obsessive woman in Fatal Attraction, Ava taunts him by making him fear for the safety of his family. Fatal Attraction goes from soap opera to thriller, including an infamous boiled pet rabbit scene and the shocker – the villainess seems to get killed in the bathtub but then jumps back up! The twist on Days will be that obsessed woman Ava mistakes Hope for Kayla, and Hope just happens to be a cop trained in self-defense, not an unsuspecting wifey.
