It is not an exciting job but keeps them out of trouble. Ciara sighs she has not seen Hope, who was granted a meager four hours of visitation. Val emerges in a colorful dress and happily accepts a bouquet of flowers from suited Abe, who is taking her out for dinner. Claire immediately contacts Theo, much to Ciara's surprise ... Sonny greets Paul as he continues to guard Adrienne's door at the Salem Inn. The guests have gone quiet and he suspects they are sleeping. He tells bemused Paul about the wedding drama. Paul came to update him on the latest. The Hernandez shipment is scheduled to arrive at the docks tonight so he and Steve are on the case ... At the station JJ swears Gabi will not get hurt again but she has doubts. He asks to be her boyfriend on probation, one who will make everything up to her ... Back at the square as Abigail sees Chad ... Andre wants her to go to him so she slowly starts ... Val happily suggests supper at the Brady pub with elated Abe. They are all flirty and smiling until Theo solemnly arrives, calling Val a big mistake ... A piano tinkles in the background as JJ repeats he loves Gabi. He impresses her by reciting her long confirmation name. She starts to melt and he again mentions that losing his sister was what made him spiral out of control that one time in Miami. She sheds a few tears and agrees maybe they can try again ... Abigail gasps she cannot and tries to bolt but Andre stops her ... Abe demands an explanation from his son. Theo accuses the lady of lying on the phone that she was in New York. Val smoothly states she did not want her Washington department head to know she skipped a New York lecture she was supposed to give. She wanted to stay in Salem longer for recovering Abe. Abe accepts her story but not suspicious Theo. The mayor takes his son aside and advises him to lay off the lady ... Sonny admits Deimos knows not he hired Paul and complains he is a macho Kiriakis, so he cannot know. He hopes Derek does not mind him working late. Paul gushes anything for his ... friend. He departs and Sonny looks after him with longing ... Abigail whispers what if she has another breakdown. Andre tries to talk her into saving Chad and urges her to reach out, take her life back. She starts again but Gabi arrives at his table with a smile. Abigail bolts in her big floppy hat and Andre gives Gabi a dirty look ... Much to Sonny's delight, Paul is soon back with pillows and snacks, as well as a smile. He asked housekeeping for supplies for his friend who is standing - or rather sitting - guard outside Adrienne's room. Now he heads to the docks. Sonny is much moved he still remembered his favorite snack foods ... Andre goes after Abigail, who almost faints that Chad has fallen for Gabi. Andre, however, knows otherwise ...Gabi just wants to let Chad know she likes they are staying such good friends and she is going to get back with JJ. Chad almost chokes but pretends he thinks that is great ... Abe and Val are dining at the Brady pub. He asks all about her life in the capital. She replies she works long rewarding hours. He asks about the boss and she asks about him becoming mayor. He muses this is his second time around and she acts even more impressed. Abe admits it is time consuming and keeps him away too much from Theo. He sighs he is sorry for what he said earlier. Val calls him sweet. She casually mentions she too has a son, whose father is not presently in the picture. This is the first Abe has heard of it ... Steve and Paul meet up to head to the docks with their cool leather jackets. Steve has a bag with clothes to match their mission and more ... Chad gets a couple of coffees and Gabi holds her decaf. He wonders why she decided to give JJ another chance. Gabi enlightens him. The DiMera drawls if he cheats again he will have to deal with him. She brings up their kiss and he cuts her off, for there is no need to over-analyze ... Overwhelmed Abigail convinces herself that Chad wants Gabi. Andre disagrees but she does not want to hurt him all over again. In addition it was obvious he is attracted to Gabi now. Andre feels she is still fragile and urges her not to decide anything tonight. However she is the only love of Chad's life. He suggests she stay in the Salem picture for Thomas has rights too. Abigail appears to be listening as Andre channels his softer side, the one reminiscent of Tony ... Theo is sulking. Claire sides with him about Val being evil. Ciara thinks there is nothing wrong with Val. Claire, however, schemes to get the number that called Val and more! Shawn shows up as she suggests they search online to dig up dirt on the doctor ... Shawn wants an explanation ... Abigail agrees she will do right by Thomas but she has been gone too long and must return to her mother. Andre hands her an untraceable phone to stay in touch since she is family. He watches with worry as she walks away ... Gabi brings up their first kiss being an act but agrees to keep working with Chad. She bids the baby goodbye and thanks the boss. He seems stressed but also relieved on some level after she leaves and stretches his DiMera arms ... Shawn plans to visit Hope. He tells Ciara not to worry and they hug. Shawn and Rafe are on a mission to clear Hope's name. Now he wants a word alone with his daughter. Claire insists Val has a very bad vibe. Shawn orders her to butt out of Mayor Abe's business ... Ciara suggests to Theo that Val is a nice lady. Claire, on the other hand, is clueless and causing trouble. She urges him not to go to extremes like before by taking Abe's gun ... Chad has a sandwich for Sonny, who is still waiting in the Salem Inn hall. Sonny teases he must be needing advice about life. Chad laments things are not exactly looking up ... Steve and Paul are in disguise down at the docks. Paul is dressed like a dock worker and hides. Steve sits and pretends to be a homeless vet down on his luck. Three men pass pushing crates. Steve stops the third man and begs and bothers him ... Paul snatches a small box unseen. Steve is told to get off the restricted property but Paul already has a Hernandez crate ... Claire haughtily tells Theo they can go to a movie and forget about Val. Theo invites Ciara, who turn down the offer. She gets glum when the couple go off together ... At the park Paul wonders how to open that crate. Steve produces a crowbar and pries off the lid. A large designer handbag is inside but Paul the confessed former fashionista knows a knockoff when he sees one! The question is how many handbags are there? Steve thinks it is no big deal. These are only illegal if one plans to pass them off as the real deal. He drawls there are more important things in life. If Sonny wants to report Eduardo, go ahead but he wants no part of it ... Chad complains to sympathetic Sonny about Gabi going back to JJ and they drink beer. Chad asks about the state of things with Paul. Sonny sighs when he first came to town he told Paul he only wanted to be friends. Now Paul is fine with it but ... Chad gets it. Sonny now wishes to be more than friends. Sonny adds Paul is also taken. So he assumes ... Gabi is remembering Chad when she sees JJ at the square. The on duty officer officially invites her to Horton house for Thanksgiving aka Thomas' birthday. Gabi accepts, aware that Chad will also be in attendance ... Meanwhile Abigail slips silently back inside Horton house. She spies a beautifully wrapped birthday present for Thomas from grandma Laura and has an epiphany. She whispers Andre was right, she does have to be with Thomas after all ... END! HAPPY DAYSCAFE THANKSGIVING! |
