There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Steve works the phone as Kayla works on the computer. He leaves his number in case the contact heard or saw anything. Kayla has heard from the experts and there is no way to prove Ava faked her death. Steve sighs he just spoke to the person at the front desk in Jakarta. He wants to get back to work but she notes he needs rest. She suggests they go over his trip with Ava again for she may have slipped up. Steve sighs all she spoke of ... Kayla gets it. About getting physical ... Ben is on the loose! Abigail cares not that the cops are on high alert! Chad tells her they must not run. She panics for her son's safety now that Ben will be looking for him. Chad insists the mansion is a fortress. JJ assures her they have people on high alert and they will grab him if he gets near. Chad will get more men and she scoffs about the usual DiMera thugs. He promises Ben will not thwart their happiness or ever hurt them ... Ed has gotten the same text as John. John comes over in his black leather jacket. They know the agency is not letting go. John feels fury, frustration and it shows on his rugged face ... Kayla tries to be clinical about Steve and Ava's affair. Steve sits on the sofa and tells her he could not take the chance of not finding her. Kayla counters they need evidence to keep him out of jail. Steve states how Ava rambled about her fantasy life with him. Perhaps her obsession proves insanity. Kayla suspects the prosecution could question whether he encouraged her. She now questions whether he did. Steve snaps he did not want Ava. They have to stick together and defeat this thing or they could lose Joey ... John and Eduardo try to find a clue. John is enraged. Ed tries to be cool and concludes the agency has them cornered. John points out they have but one possible play. Ed gets it. They must give themselves up ... Rafe updates JJ at the station. The trail on Ben runs cold but there was an unauthorized withdrawal and then an airport shuttle. No telling where he might be by now. Rafe suspects it sounds like Clyde was involved. JJ and Chad argue about him keeping Abigail in the dark. Chad leaves. Rafe sides with JJ that Abigail had the right to know. JJ wishes they had more units on the mansion. Rafe quips Chad probably has the place in lockdown. All of a sudden, sister Gabi bursts in babbling in Spanish about Arianna and Marlena going missing. The young mom is a mess ... Abigail holds Thomas at the mansion and assures him they are keeping him close and safe. She hears a thud and thinks the nanny has come ... Rafe tries to calm down desperate Gabi, who has not had a single phone call. JJ suggests they have may have gone for a walk where there is no phone service. He offers to look around with her. Rafe can call the hospital. Gabi already did and asks for John's number. Rafe hugs her and tells her it will be fine. His eyes mirror his worry. JJ too ... Deimos has texted Kate his thanks for an exquisite time together. A creepy man arrives at his place. Tis one scruffy sinister PETROV. He demands Deimos give him what he wants so Deimos hands over the formula for the serum. The source was Phillip Kiriakis. Petrov gasps he has waited long and hands him a case of money. Now their business is done. He slithers out and Deimos checks the money. He fans the bills with a greedy grin ... Kayla agrees with Steve and wants to get going. Steve takes her hands and tender music plays. He calls the most exciting time of his life when he first kissed her, took her in his arms and dared to believe she could love him. Baby was his baptism and is still his biggest thrill. Kayla is close to tears as he concludes nothing comes close to them. He kisses her hand with emotion and swears he speaks the truth. Kayla decides they should focus and asks about the key he found, the one with the serpent chain. Steve knows that Ava had a similar tattoo. Kayla knows that was also the same serpent that was on the wall where she was held. He announces he will check it out. Kayla wants to come with but he disagrees, not wanting her to relive the horror of the room. She gives him the address and he promises to call once he gets out. Then he pauses at the door with an I LOVE YOU BABY and departs. She whispers to be careful ... Jen arrives at DiMera mansion and makes noise dropping her bag. Abigail is rattled. Jen admits she is uneasy about her daughter dwelling in the dark DiMera mansion. Abigail is a mess and wishes her mother would let it go right now. Jen tries to be positive but she is jumpy and her mouth is on a roll. Abigail gets defensive. Jen calls the mansion a most depressing place for her to raise her son. Abigail admits she dislikes the history but loves Chad, who likes it here. Jen shouts about the evil goings on. Abigail cries this is the only piece of the DiMera legacy Chad wants so they will have to change the place, make it work for them. She screams to let it go and sits down in a state. Jen suspects something more is the matter. Abigail gasps she is overwhelmed is all. Jen just wants her to be happy. She insists she is happy being with the man she loves and their beautiful baby and cannot wait to be wed. Jen hugs her and lies neither can she ... Detective Rafe gets off a call and Ed arrives, asking after his sister. Rafe notes she seemed fine and wonders why he wants to know. Ed brings up Arianna. Rafe accuses him of knowing that she is missing. Ed asks him over to a private room. He shows him the text and asks his son to tell Gabi it will end well, he will get them back. He urges Rafe to bring his sister here, where she will be safe. Rafe demands the whole truth and just how he is involved. He knows there is more to this story. Ed confesses his security work was that he was an assassin, a trained killer since he was a teen. He was brainwashed into the life. Rafe notes not the government. No, an agency that operated outside of all laws. Rafe is stunned to hear they stole young people's lives and made them stay on call, which was why he left his wives. He believed he had cut all ties before coming to Salem. Alas they would not release him. They want him back. Rafe growls to take his miserable self back to them and blasts him for endangering Ari. He calls him a selfish sob to come back and endanger them. Ed insists he had believed he was out. Rafe insists he is now involved and wants to know any move he makes. Ed urges him not to make it worse with his cop presence. Rafe refuses to back down ... Deimos hides his money under the bed and opens his door to John, who is seeking Petrov. Deimos lies who? John demands to know what he knows. Everything now ... Joey comes home and gets an update on his father's whereabouts. Kayla assures him she is helping. Joey wonders whether she forgives him. Kayla would rather focus on having the charges dropped. Joey wonders why she can easily forgive her son, but not the honorable father he feels lucky to have ... Man in black Steve steps into the room where Kayla was held captive. He spies the serpent on the wall and gets closer. Then he inserts the key in the opening and turns. A hidden door opens! Steve dares to look inside ... John growls to Deimos he knows money was funneled to his dummy corporation, Santos Unlimited. He mentions Petrov and the agency. Deimos feigns innocence and talks money managers. Then John wants those managers contacted. He refuses to get them on the phone and tells John to mind his own damn business ... Steve finds himself in a dark tunnel. He shines his flashlight in a secret room at the bottom, with candles and a shrine dedicated to HIM. Ava was a woman obsessed and this proves it. He sees a serpent mural on the wall. The serpent was ready to strike Kayla with fire from its mouth. His eyes widen in horror as he reads the word written over Kayla's face. DEATH. Now he knows what Ava's evil end game was. He snaps several pictures as proof and stops when he hears footsteps. Kayla followed him. He tries to keep her away but she takes a look around ... John gives no damn who Deimos is in bed with nor does he give a damn about his dirty money. He is just after Petrov. Deimos feigns ignorance again and advises him to leave before this takes an unpleasant turn ... Gabi is at the park looking around with JJ. She finds her daughter's small stroller toy and is terrified ... At DiMera mansion, woman in love Abigail holds her wedding gown against herself at the mirror. All of a sudden the bride-to-be hears a strange noise. Thud! Chad arrives and she gasps there is something in the hallway. Chad takes a few steps and soap stares. Then he walks about and checks the entire floor, the servants having checked the rest of the house, including the cellar. Abigail tries to relax. He gathers she is spooked about Ben and kisses and holds her. Abigail's eye are wide with worry ... JJ promises Gabi they will find Marlena and her daughter ... Ed is getting ready in his room. He uses his fingerprints to open the case he never wanted to use again. He takes out his gun and loads it like the old days ... Deimos suggests John is stressed and he is busy but has nothing. He repeats to leave. John turns and mutters tell Petrov he won. Deimos knows not what he means. John warns to also tell him if the little girl or Marlena are harmed there will be a bloodbath ... Steve has enough pictures and wants Kayla to leave with him. But now she notices the mad mural of Ava the wicked one wanting her dead. Steve holds her close and reminds her she survived. Dangerous music plays. But they are not out of there yet ... THE END! |
