Abigail is flustered at the office when she finds herself staring at Chad's name on a funding request memo for her charity project. Kayla greets her and Abigail admits she has been troubled of late with thoughts of someone who might be a mistake. Kayla assumes she is alluding to Ben and gives her a pep talk about the wrong person really being Mr. Right. One must follow one's heart.Abigail gets even more flustered ... Chad is at the club, having just made a poster about Ari's party tomorrow closing the club. Zoe comes on to him and wants a date. The only date Chad wants from her is when Will's Clyde piece will be ready for publication. Tomorrow ... Victor is puzzled by Dan turning down his invitation to the party in Zander's honor. The Greek senses something. Dan senses Victor has long known what a liar Zander is and he has not changed from his wicked ways. Victor plays it cool and asks what he lied about. Dan drawls he lied about not pursuing Nicole. The Greek grimaces ... Nicole and Zander are all alone in her office. He gets too close for comfort and she snaps she is not going to speak to him about Dan. He suddenly grabs her in a kiss. She responds and then overreacts ... Eric rages at Serena to EXPLAIN this photograph of her in bed with Zander. So far he has not noticed the illustrious elephant also caught by the camera ... Zander now notes Nicole is not over Dan as she would have him believe ... As Zoe leaves, Kate arrives and teases Chad, wondering why he would turn down such a temptress. She suspects he has another girl in his heart and reminds him to stay away from the fair Abigail ... Nicole nervously tells off Zander for being so controlling. He sighs she is so right about the dinner date with the family for Victor et al would have been furious. He decides it is best they be discreet ... Serena stammers it was wrong of her to have a fling with Zan after Eric left her in Africa. Eric demands she explain why the secrecy all this time. Something is not quite right. A frown creases his brow ... Serena shudders she wanted to forget about Zander, who is by no means a decent man ...Victor suggests Dan is being too hard on the changed one. Dan snaps he saw him with Nicole and then there was the fear he had instilled in a certain female back in Africa. Victor listens intently ... Zan acts nonchalant about his arrangement with Nicole to keep their connection private. He proceeds to probe her about Serena and lies she herself said she came to see her. He asks what was discussed. Nicole evades and then gets lucky. Zander has a text from Uncle Victa, summoning him to the mansion ... Chad is standing all alone in the DiMera rose garden, a glass of scotch in hand to drown his sorrows. He is surprised by the sight of Abigail. He had not been expecting her ... Abigail gasps she brought him a memo for the funding. He snaps she will get the money. Abigail feels the frost ... Zander gallantly kisses Nicole on the hand and exits. She sits at her computer to investigate him and this time she will do some back door digging ... Eric points out the holes in Serena's story. She had been ready to work with Zander and besides why would he send this picture?? She laments he loathes her and wanted to come between them. Eric accuses her of lies lies and more lies ... Stylish Kate receives her oncology test results from Kayla at the hospital. She remains cancer free. Kate is happy. Kayla wonders why she fired Lucas. Kate snaps Victor did because he was sleeping with Adrienne! Kayla is not sure how to respond. Kate notes it is true that Justin too was cheating and waltzes off ... Abigail quietly asks Chad what is the matter. He gets sarcastic about his so-called wonderful like with servants and expensive scotch in the best crystal glasses. It feels empty. Their eyes lock ... Back at the apartment, Dan decides to deal with his Nicole issue on the computer. Once he is done, he plays with Parker, who alas breaks the trunk off his elephant statue. Dan tries to put the pieces back together and makes a dramatic discovery ... Zander eagerly appears before Victor the Great and Powerful at the family mansion. Victor unleashes his full fury on him for going against his order and cozying up to Nicole. Dinner is OFF! Zan's face falls ... Abigail assumes Chad is still suffering the loss of his sister and should not be alone. He snaps Zoe is available. Abigail blinks in bewilderment. He dares her to admit the real reason she is here ... Eric thunders at Serena for her secret, the one he senses she is still hiding from him. This changes everything. Unless she talks, running away to Hawaii is not happening. Serena gets a tragic look in her eye. Eric repeats to tell him the full truth ... Victor the Greek growls at the black sheep nephew that he could destroy him for his defiance ... Nicole stares at her computer in horror. Zander was in the slammer for MURDER ... Dan has discovered the secret compartment hidden at the bottom of the elephant statue. It appears to be empty ... Chad makes a heartfelt plea to Abigail to admit she could not stay away. No matter what misery they put one another through, it is not over, this unspoken connection between them is stronger than ever ... Abigail whispers no. He drawls yes and takes her in his arms. They kiss passionately as her schoolgirl briefcase falls to the ground in the romantic rose garden ... THE END |
