BASED OFTEN ON MY DAYSCAFE NOON TWEETS: Tormented Chad walks in to see tormented Ciara seated at the infamous DiMera chess set. Neither can sleep and she admits something is on her mind. Ooooo. At the California hospital Jade, Steve and Kayla wait for word on shot Joey. Jade cries they think it is her fault. Kayla solemnly steps away to see head nurse. Jade weeps he was shot saving her. He has to survive ... John comes home with an embrace for Marlena and heartfelt words of how he missed her. The discuss the Joey drama and John can only pray he pulls through ... Nicole peeks out from the closet. Kate seems to spy the crack but Nicole has no idea. Phillip waltzes in wanting to know the latest mess his mother made ... A piano tinkles as Chad tells Ciara he was wasted and is sorry. She knows he was upset after visiting Abigail, who has all but abandoned him. Chad is in denial and would rather not discuss the words he spoke when drunk. She WILL come home to him or he has nothing ... Kate plays the role of the weeping widow. Philip sits on the sofa across from her and observes as she tells her tale of unlikely love. Nicole and Dario are listening. Kate concludes she must now consider Titan. She needs his help and talks teamwork. He can be co-CEO. Phillip demands the truth, did she do it, did she kill Deimos? Dario starts to secretly record on his iphone. Kate raises her head as Phillip awaits her answer. They all do ... Kate claims Nicole did it and pushed him in the water. She witnessed the whole thing! Phillip wants to know if she contacted the cops. Kate claims she filmed the fight but dropped her phone. Phillip counters convenient and questions what the fight was all about. She updates him on Nicole using the fact that she looked like a long lost love to dupe Deimos. She urges Phillip to help her. He replies with a resounding NO cos she only wants his help with this game she is playing. He warns murder is ugly. Kate cries her hand was forced and Nicole looks ready to explode in the closet ... John grins and gets off the phone about his tomorrow plans with Paul. His son is well with no viral aftereffects. He thanks doc for watching over him. He suavely drapes his arm around her. She smiles of course. He holds the woman he loves close and she puts her blonde head on his shoulder ... Kayla comes back stammering Joey must undergo surgery as they search for the bullet. Crying sorry Jade steps away. Steve laments their son has lost a lot of blood. He breaks down blaming himself. Kayla holds him and cries he did what he could. The tough guy moans he cannot lose him. He could not bear it ... A chess game is underway between Chad and Ciara. He stammers he wanted to help Abi and now she refuses to see him. Ciara suggests she feels ashamed and argues Chad did all that he could. She would be in heaven if a fellow loved her even half as much. Chad stands up and looks at their pretty picture on the mantle. He needs to get his girl home. Ciara is sorry she upset him. Chad insists she is great for him and Thomas. Ciara smiles with stars in her eyes ... Steve kisses Kayla's hand. She goes back for more news. Simone approaches Steve and asks how he is. Steve accuses her of being to blame for the bullet in his boy. He stares at her with hatred. Jade seconds the notion and tells off Simone for her lies about love. No one wants her here so get out or she will call the cops! Steve thunders the same when Simone starts to speak. The flower child from hell leaves and Steve hugs the sobbing girl who stood up to her ... Phillip dangerously deduces Kate the black widow did it. She screams at the selfish ungrateful son to get out and feigns hurt. He questions whether she even has a heart and quips to have fun with all her money. He arrogantly walks out and she wipes away her fake tears, making a call. She summons someone and then announces Nicole can come out cos she knows she is in there! BUSTED! Kate now has the upper hand and has admitted to nothing ... Marlena has white wine for John and herself. He laments no word from Steve and she assures him they will hear something soon. John notes he needs to get in touch with Brady and Belle and then stops, sorry he has not asked about her. She will share the latest after. He roguishly wonders after what. She coyly takes his wine glass and carries it with hers into the bedroom. John jumps up and goes right after her for some lovin ... Kayla comes back with good news. The bullet is out and no real damage was done! Joey will be in recovery soon. They hug and cry tears of joy. Jade sits on the floor and sobs. Kayla sits next to her and consoles her ... Cross Kate threatens to drag her out so Nicole emerges - though without Dario. Kate recognized her perfume. She accuses her of trying to set her up. Nicole accuses her of killing Deimos like Phillip sais and presses her to admit it to her. Things got crazy and she deduces she did love Deimos. Kate did and wonders about Nicole. Nicole lists all his good qualities. She begs her adversary not to blame her for what she did cos she was not even there when Deimos fell in the river. Silence. Nicole implores her to tell Roman the truth or whatever but do not ruin her life just because Deimos was about to ruin hers. Kate observes her with sly sultry eyes ... Sleeping patient Joey has visitors in the form of his folks and Jade. He opens his eyes and is sorry. His parents tell him everything is alright and all they care about is him. Steve tells buddy he loves him. Kayla cannot wait to take him home. Joey wants a moment alone with Jade. Exit Steve and Kayla. The teens look at each other ... Chad is sorry to hear that Ciara is not into nephew Theo. Thomas cries and he takes off to attend to him ... Marlena wakes up in her robe and now catches John on the couch sneaking some ice cream! She knows he does this regularly as she has seen the spoon marks. She giggles lucky she loves him. He asks enough to MARRY him again and places more ice cream to his lips. The blonde blinks. She had not been expecting a sweet ice cream proposal ... Ding dong! Kate taunts that is the police who will be arresting Nicole. Dario comes out of the closet and tells her they will have to arrest them both! Kate cackles and lets in the burly cop. Nicole is sorry but Dario likes the wild ride. Until the cop slaps cuffs on him at Kate's request. Nicole cannot believe this is happening ... Jade holds Joey's hand. She promises they will never have such problems again and announces she is heading back to Salem with him. He feels better already as she kisses and huddles next to him. Meanwhile Steve holds Kayla's hands and wonders what comes next for them ... Cuffed Nicole and Dario have been read their rights. Kate advises the arresting cop to contact Roman cos Nicole is suspected of killing Deimos. She coldly ignores Nicole's pleas as the two prisoners are lead out. The door slams. Kate stays behind in all her diva glory ... At the station the cop tells daring Dario to stop kissing Nicole and hauls him out ... Kayla cries it is hard to keep him away and Steve holds this woman he loves, whispering he knows she does not want to keep him away. She alludes to his cocky trouble making ways but he has won her heart again and holds his baby close. They kiss in bliss and clutch each other ... Ciara takes Chad's hands and professes her love for him since he makes her feel so safe. Now she is out of her daydream and back to reality. Chad got the baby to sleep and suggests she head to bed. She bids him goodnight ... Marlena wonders whether John is serious. He drawls he has been thinking about it all the way home. Watching Steve and Kayla made him grateful for what they had. She notes they should not ruin a good thing. John sighs he wants no one to swoop in and steal her away. Marlena giggles she is single but not available and reminds him of the promise they made to each other. He reminds her she had given him one month and he has certainly stepped up. He argues he needs it in writing that they will be together forever. He moves in for a kiss and she grabs a notepad, writing YES. He laughs and gets close for that kiss. Ring ring! Marlena now gets a phone call that shocks her to the core ... Chad, whose phone was off a long time, then gets a call from Marlena as he woefully looks at Abigail's picture in the dark. It is about Shady Hills. He needs to get over there. Chad takes off in a flash fearing the worst about the woman he loves... THE END! Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Abigail has been hurt in a fire! D.A.
