BASED ON DAYSCAFE NOON TWEETS It is night and some Salemites are restless. Adriana and Blanca are both in the kitchen. Blanca offers to make tea. Adriana is exasperated about Rafe rescuing that damsel with the dead husbands aka Hope. She wonders why Blanca is moving. Blanca would rather be near the hospital for work. Mama thinks the area is dangerous. Blanca is dismissive ... Steve is alone at the club drowning his sorrows. He has Kayla in his heart and on his mind. He looks at her photo on his phone and finishes his ale. Ed appears with another tall glass of ale, this one on the house. He thought he looked like he could use it ... Meanwhile friendly Fynn is at the hospital speaking to fellow physician Kayla about Hope. He then asks how SHE is, and requests a word aloooone ... Ed has heard about Tate and asks about leads. Steve sighs none have panned out so far. Ed wants him to pass on to John that he reached out to their old associates. Steve appreciates any help they can get even from the old assassins. He admits he was surprised Ed decided to stay in Salem. Ed still feels badly about leaving Paige and Eve. Steve can relate to the guilt. Ed adds the kids now are starting to come around. He intends to step up and be a good father as well as a good husband to Adriana ... Blanca pours the tea and reasons Adriana will have more space available for Eduardo when she departs. Adriana has her doubts ... Kayla fears Fynn is after her again but the doctor declares she has dilated pupils and seems stressed so he MUST examine her ... Kayla is soon having her eyes checked by Fynn in an examination room. They are all alone. He holds her wrist for the pulse and then checks her glands. He finds out she has had some dizzy spells and suggests surgery to correct the condition. Kayla claims she has no time to recover from surgery for the family needs her. She complains Joey has no common sense. In spite of his issues he has even refused therapy. And then there is that girl who almost got him killed! Fynn tells her the teen is not thinking with his head and appears amused. But not Kayla ... Joey wants to make out with Jade at his mom's house and says she is out. There is no need to worry. He grins he likes his bad influence girl and they keep kissing ... Steve sighs damn another dead end and looks up from his phone. Ed thinks he should be home. Steve explains he wants to be with his wife but she has hesitation. Ed tells him he feels his wife is coming around and they clink their shot glasses ... Joey wants to take the girl to his own bedroom. Jade is jumpy about Kayla coming in. She thinks she would hate her even more! Joey laughs that is not possible and she pouts. He calls her his girlfriend and assures her he likes her just the wicked way she is. Jade feels the same way and calls them the perfect pair. Joey says all the right things so they get hot and heavy on the sofa again ... Meanwhile back at the hospital Kayla complains to Fynn that Joey even wanted her to let the girl move in. And this is the same bad girl who got him in trouble in California with that cult! She even called him to help her instead of 911 and it got her son shot! Fynn defends Jade for calling Joey when she was a hostage instead of 911 The heart leads the head. He gives her an intense look ... Steve laments his love life is slow since Kayla is stubborn. Ed the sage suggests she fears he will be going on another adventure. Steve has his doubts as well. He reasons he even rescued her brother and these situations seem to find him. Ed suspects he wants them to find him on some level cos he is addicted to adventure. Steve denies it. Ed now lets him know his own secret, how he convinced Adriana to give him another chance, how he proved he was worthy of the family and her love again. Steve is listening ... The ladies drink tea and Blanca enjoys cake. Adriana abstains from the cake and continues to share her thoughts. She suspects her younger son will never get along with Ed. In addition this is Rafe's residence. Blanca suggests she move in with Ed for she can see how deeply they feel about one another ... Ed informs Steve he invested in this business as proof that he had long-term plans to stay in Salem. It is all legit. He admits things are slow though. Steve reminisces once upon a time it was the Cheatin Heart, a hopping place with a pool table and a jukebox. Good times dancing the night away with his sweet Kayla ... Friendly Fynn pours Kayla a decaf and suggests she should go home instead of staying for a shift. She insists on staying so he gets personal. Was Steve always the one? Kayla confesses she would have done anything to get him back and here he is now doing as she asked. However, her heart and her mind cannot seem to agree. Steve is certainly her HERO but how to live with such drama on a daily basis? Fynn admits he used to be a heart breaker himself but now has met someone he wants to settle down with. He gives Kayla the eye ... Adriana admits she has lingering doubts due to the fact that Eduardo left. It was because of the dangerous job he had but then had another family with another woman. Blanca the romantic believes he deserves another chance. Adriana would need things to be different this time. Blanca believes they might very well be ... Ed is standing alone at his bar reading the threatening note he got. He hides it and gets back to work ... Fynn argues he can give Kayla what Steve never could and never will. He suggests she is afraid of starting over but she denies it. He drawls she is denying what exists between them and kisses her on the lips. Kayla is startled. So is Steve, who arrived in time to witness the smooch ... Shirtless Joey cuddles on the couch with Jade, who gets a craving for ice cream. However, they have nothing unhealthy in the house. He suggests she stay the night but she knows his mother would not approve. She will go stay with a friend again. She also wants to get a job. Joey hisses he hates his mother for not letting her stay and she urges him to respect the mother who loves him. They exchange I love yous again and she pretends she will stay after all ... Adriana goes to the club and sees Ed is having another slow night. He gushes he likes her being here. She explains she was talking to Blanca and it made her realize she has to tell him ... A couple of customers come in and she urges him to serve them first since business is slow. Once he steps away she takes a look at the menu on the bar and spies his secret note underneath. She reads the anonymous threat and soap stares. So much for a romantic reunion! His killing past has brought danger to the family again ... Fynn tells Steve not to blame Kayla. Steve states he does not, decides it is a bad time, and departs. Kayla goes after him as Fynn fumes ... Eduardo now asks Adriana what she wanted to say. His eyes are filled with hope. She suddenly stammers she left the stove on and takes off, claiming what she wanted to say was not important anyway. Ed wonders ... Shirtless Joey wakes up on the couch alone. Alas Jade is gone. He texts her ... At the park Jade ignores his text wondering where she is and huddles alone on a bench ... Kayla catches up with Steve, sorry he saw that cos her coworker crossed the line! He points out he succeeded in controlling his temper. He wants her to know he is leaving Black Patch to tend bar for the club. That means no more secrets or adventure. She quips he will be working for Ed the assassin. Steve explains Ed is an ex-assassin. The place used to be the Cheatin Heart, She remembers it well. He intends to go mainstream so they can make it. Kayla reminds him he tried before and believes it will not work. They will both be unhappy! He asks her to let him try. She woefully shakes her pretty head.
