Steve sees she has a bowl of chowder to feel better. She complains about the invoices Roman has ignored. She wants to keep busy to forget about her work and woefully wonders what to do if not medicine ... Lacy Kate blasts a board member on the phone. Andre suggests she overdid it. They enjoy their drinks and she gets a text about Mr. Yu doing as she demanded. She can see Andre is stressed about Chad. All the DiMeras are and they are counting on Theo to come through ... At the club Theo stammers he was working on a job. Abe does not understand and curses when he hears the words he has long dreaded. His son works for DiMera ... Shirtless post shower Chad emerges and Gabi assumes she spoiled his surprise by finding the diamond ring. Chad explains it is actually Abigail's. She sighs and snaps why was it in his pocket ... Dario wants to prove himself to Abigail. She counters she can say no to him. He threatens to take the picture of Chad to the police, thus dooming him to life in prison ... Eli updates Lani on Dario's deal. He wants witness protection. She asks what he has. Eli solemnly swears her to secrecy. Dario had a partner he wants to give up. She assumed there was no one and asks for a name. Eli starts to sweat ... Dario begs. Abigail bitterly replies she would never run away from her family and Thomas. He thinks Thomas can come. She doubts dad Chad would allow it and flat out refuses. Dario stands before her and reminds her what would happen. She slaps him and his hope turns to stone, along with any shred of decency that ever dwelled in his now frozen heart. Abigail's eyes are icy blue as she meets his gaze ... A harmonica plays as Steve points out Kayla will keep her job. He vows to get her vindicated with his investigation so she has no need to retire. Now he suavely suggests a cruise as well. She cannot imagine being without him and wonders whether he regrets not being in Greece with John and Paul. Negative and he kisses his pretty first priority ... Val is unable to rein in angered Abe, who demands to know what his smart son is doing for the DiMeras. I.T. work. He wonders what he was hiding when he slammed his laptop ... Chad tries to excuse why he had Abigail's ring in his pocket but the brunette has her doubts ... Abigail gets upset that Dario would blackmail his good friend, after he lied about needing to marry her to stay in the country. Dario now can see he is sunk. The arm of the law is not nearly as important to him as the love of the fair Abigail, something which seems more out of his humble reach with each passing second ... Eli explains the identity of Dario's partner can only be known by him and his FBI boss, until it has been confirmed. He apologizes for being hard on Lani, who assures him they are fine. He is waiting for an update on the Dario case from the bureau and lets her know she may leave. She is off to get back to JJ ... Abe scoffs when Theo states his work is supposed to be confidential. Abe orders him to quit and confiscates his computer. Theo watches helplessly as he storms off with it, followed by Val ... Abigail gets Dario to admit he did lie. He gasps he loves her and tried to be a good guy. Chad shattered her heart and he wanted to win her over. She lets him know she will never love him. Dario leers Chad is a lost cause cos he is with Gabi for good ... Chad reminds Gabi that Abigail will always be the mother of his son but their Marton house kiss and vows meant nothing. Gabi knows better. She asks Chad whether he would take back Abigail if she were free again. She assumes she already knows the answer ... Kayla is bugged by the beer invoices. Steve states Roman is a cop and she is a doctor. She has patched him up so many times like the time she nursed him back from the shot he took when tracking Stefano in Prague. They hold hands and he tells her to close up early. She gushes she will let the kitchen staff go home, kisses him and goes to do it. Steve sneaks out the door to prepare for his surprise ... Abe apologizes to date Val that their date tonight was not special. She asks why he is so bothered about Theo being employed at DiMera. Chad in charge has led to a clean operation but Abe ominously refers to history repeating itself ... Theo arrives at the DiMera mansion to give Kate and Andre the news. Alas he did not delete the damning picture of Chad! This is not what they were expecting to hear ... After a long pause that makes Gabi pout Chad insists Abigail being available would change nothing between them. He suggests she is being insecure. He offers to sell the engagement ring and leave it downstairs for the night. She agrees and he puts his shirt on, destination downstairs ... Abigail calmly tells Dario that Gabi is not at issue here. She accuses him of not loving her as he claims cos he wants her to leave her son. She will never leave with him! Dario's face gets twisted with inner rage ... As they sit at the square, Val assures Abe he raised Theo to know right from wrong but Abe has not forgotten the influence of father Stefano on unsuspecting Lexie. He abhors that Theo has been spending time with Andre and fears he could follow in his mother's footsteps. He considers checking his computer to see firsthand if he has already done Andre's bidding ... Andre is aghast that Abe who hates him now has the computer. All is lost! Kate suggests another computer. Theo would need a lot of time to crack the cloud all over again. Andre exclaims they do not have the luxury of time. They must protect Chad! Chad appears and sarcastically wonders from what ... Dario gets tough on Abigail and claims there are consequences. She warns him she could delete the picture from his phone. He leers he has lots of copies on the cloud. Abigail calmly questions that. He wonders. She will only say she is going nowhere with him. Eli interrupts so she excuses herself. Twisted music plays as Dario coos he loves her so she should consider his 'proposal'... Chad wants to know what he needs protecting from. Andre sighs it is Dario. Kate cannot stop him. Chad does not approve of them having told Theo about Dario's criminal hack. He reminds them he already agreed to give Abigail time to get through to Dario. Theo nervously gets going so both Kate and Andre see him to the door. Chad lets out a humph and drops the ring in the desk drawer ... Val feels Abe opening his son's computer would be a violation of sorts since he is supposed to trust him. Abe realizes he has been remiss. He wants to continue their romantic night unless he ruined it. She teases he did not and they kiss a couple of times in front of the flowers ... Kayla gets choked up by the sight of yellow roses at the dim pub. Steve suavely hands his sweetness one and smiles he wants to celebrate how lucky he is. They romantically kiss to all their anniversaries, especially the first, and she cries tears of joy. He murmurs he would do anything for her and signs Happy Anniversary Sweetness. Then he produces a beautiful bracelet and they kiss in bliss again and again ... Kayla and Steve later sit drinking ale. She thanks him for reminding her how blessed she is. He feels blessed as well and puts on some blues for a dance with the woman he loves. They slow dance and smooch ... Kate hands a glass of Stefano's finest to Andre and admits she needs to channel her inner Stefano to solve this one. Andre takes a sip and muses they must deal with Abe Carvaaa ... Abe and Val giggle as she enjoys the chocolate treat he gave her. The elegant mayor admits she amazes him. He now hands her a box with a ribbon. She opens it and admires the lovely necklace, kissing him in thanks. He promises to take her dancing and places it around her neck. If only they knew they were being secretly recorded ... Abigail finds Theo at the club and assumes the best. But he bears bad news of a snag. Abigail soap stares ... Eli updates Dario that the FBI has set the plan in motion. However, he will only get his witness protection if he comes through with his partner in crime. Cocky Dario claims he will. He adds to include Abigail in witness protection. Eli wonders. Dario insists it is what she wants ... Chad returns to the bedroom and apologizes to Gabi, who claims she is tired and turns over to sleep. She bids him goodnight and he stares into space, unaware of the tragedy that is just around the corner ... END! |
