Salem patient Steve slowly wakes up with his eyes bandaged. Kayla is at his side and believes the bionic eye is in place. Steve teases she is married to a cyborg and cannot wait to see sweetness. Time to take off the bandages. Outside the room Claire sits with Tripp and updates him on Ciara still being mad at everyone in the world but Ben. Seems like a bizarre bond was forged. Tripp grimaces. Meanwhile at the station Rafe and Hope press Ben to confess. Slick Ted steps in and advises his client to say nothing. Rafe accuses him of selling his soul. When Hope wonders who in the world hired him Ciara appears announcing she did. Ben is touched ... Gabi returns to Stefan so he can sign the Gabi Chic papers. She wonders what went down at the clinic, whether he could convince Abigail to keep their baby ... Chad wonders what this is about. Abigail admits she has been hiding that she is pregnant. He smiles slightly ... Stefan smugly recounts how he convinced Abigail to accept her child. He believes the part of her that loves him loves their child ... Chad is elated and asks Abigail why the long face. She sadly states it is Stefan’s. Chad looks like he has been slapped a thousand times ... Kayla removes the bandages. Steve has one eye that remains closed. He can see nothing, he says ... Clad in a Carmen style dress Claire questions Ciara’s judgment and suggests Tripp talk to her. She fears she might even have feelings for Ben which stem from her thinking she deserves nothing better. Tripp wants to know more ... Rafe and Hope cannot believe what Ciara did with her trust fund. Hope tells her the fire marshal has referred to the fire as suspicious ... Gabi suggests Stefan not be a father like Stefano. He looks forward to having a hands on approach with his offspring. She mentions the Gabi Chic mixup and he notes there was no mixup ... As Abigail weeps, Chad does the maternity math. She hands him the test results she believes to be real and apologizes. Chad reads ... Kayla has checked and the engineer explained Steve’s optic nerve needed time to heal and get in synch with the bionic eye. Steve wishes he did not have to wait another day and declares it will be a good one. Enters Tripp with his dinner plus hot sauce and well wishes. Kayla goes and Steve asks his son what is wrong. It is about Ciara. He thinks there is no hope ... Ciara is upset Ben did not tell her that detail. He is sorry he did not share the fire marshal report. Ted pipes up he read it too but there is no proof linking his client to the fire! He goes on to suggest someone from Salem was attempting to frame client Ben. Rafe scoffs, Hope asks what he means. He means that he found out Hope was trying to keep Ben in Shady Hills ... Stefan blames Gabi for blurting out Abigail was pregnant with his baby. Matter of fact he feels she was trying to hurt Abigail ... Abigail cries she would change the results if she could. Chad wonders what stopped her from aborting. Stefan ... Rafe warns Ted to watch what he says against Madam Commissioner. Hope warns him he needs proof against anyone in her department. Ted declares he needs no proof. Hope snaps his client's past patterns make him a suspect. Ted goes on to make Rafe admit there is no evidence to implicate Ben so he intends to request Trask release him. Hope steps out with Ted. Ben is sorry and begs Ciara to believe in him ... Stefan accuses Gabi of going after Abigail by telling him her pregnancy news. He taunts because of Abigail she became barren. And he can smell a grudge a mile away. Gabi, however, blames Stefan. She just has to deal with him to keep her company. She adds she wants what is best for Abigail her dear friend - with a wicked look in her eye ... Chad starts to bellow when Abigail argues she has to accept the integrated part of her that got pregnant. He suspects she is in love with Stefan ... Tripp complains to Steve about Ciara not giving him a chance and turning to Ben. Steve notes she is stubborn as was Bo but he should let her know he is here for her. Kayla was always there for him and became his anchor. Tripp could be the anchor of Ciara ... Claire tells Kayla she will keep hoping for Steve. Kayla thanks her and pours herself some water. She assures the anxious girl she is here if she wants to talk. Claire wonders whether she was ever into a guy who was not into her and how did she overcome? Kayla had a similar situation with David Banning but then found Steve her soulmate. Claire stammers does she think she will find her Steve one day? Of that Kayla is certain ... Stefan claims he only cares about the welfare of the child. Gabi warns him that Abigail is NOT Gabby. Is he settling for Abigail now? ... Abigail assures Chad that she does not love Stefan. He alludes to not accepting the situation. He gets choked up with emotion about the daily reminder that DiMera baby would be of her affair with Stefan ... Kayla comes back to Steve who finished his fries. She tells him as per the engineer the eye might need a few hours to start to work. He asks her to check again. She shines a light and he sighs it is still dark. He has another 24 hours to wait so she snuggles up to him and asks about Tripp. He gave him some good advice and hopes he takes it ... …Tripp is heading home. Claire stops him at the hospital and informs him Ciara is moving back to the loft. He hopes she has forgiven him ... As Ben waits, Ciara informs Rafe of everything that Ben did to take care of her. She believes she reached him. Rafe concludes they got close. She now considers him a friend. Rafe reminds her that Abigail felt the same way once upon a time ... Hope marches back with Ted, who stated his case to D.A. Trask. Now Ben is a free man! Steve’s eye is covered to promote his healing but Kayla stays by her man. She promises she will be the first thing he sees in the morning ... Tripp gushes to Claire, grateful it sounds like he might get another chance with Ciara as she moved back. He hugs her and heads to the loft ... Back at the station Rafe has to uncuff Ben. Hope notes this is not over. Ted talks paperwork. Ciara believes Ben would never lie to her. He emotionally thanks her and heads out to be processed. Hope hugs her daughter ... Back at DiMera mansion Gabi warns Stefan not to make her friend Abigail unhappy. Stefan suggests she is playing a game ... Chad paces as Abigail looks down. Violins play. She makes an emotional plea and adds she loves him. Chad gets choked up as he cannot assure her things will be alright this time. She begs him to stay but he walks out ... STAY TUNED! |
