There is only one DaysCafe :) Now without further ado ... Marlena and John are ready to face another day as one. Marlena ends a call, having cleared her schedule. Eric's system seems to be accepting the drug treatment for his heart. John thinks that is a good thing. She worriedly wonders when Roman will arrest him. John sadly states he suspected it would have happened by now. Perhaps Roman called in a favor to get them some time. Marlena laments if her son does not want to survive he will not ... Jen bears flowers for Eric in his room. He feels undeserving and cannot be consoled. Roman arrives so Jen must leave. She assures Eric she is here to talk if he needs her. Eric now sighs he is sorry his father has to be the one to charge him. He believes he is guilty as hell anyway ... At the house of Kiriakis Maggie cries by a picture of Dan as she tries to write. Stylish Theresa arrives to offer her condolences. Maggie is grateful but Victor the Greek interrupts the moment with a scathing accusation. He blames Theresa for Brady leaving his job and turning back his car to get a gift he left behind from her. That means it is all her fault! She takes off in tears. Maggie was unable to get her Greek tycoon husband to stop. He offers to accompany her to the hospital. She laments she must meet Nicole to plan her late son's service. plus she should spend some time with Melanie ... Brady is struggling as a doctor tries to move his foot. Dr. Finn tells him there needs to be movement to prevent a blood clot. The Salem patient is determined to make it to Daniel's service ... At the now late Daniel's apartment, Parker complains to Nicole they could not fix his father the way he used to fix Fluffy his stuffed toy ... Eric wishes his father would get rid of the flowers. Roman wants him to focus on his recovery. Eric urges him not to give him any favors for he does not deserve any ... John hands the woman he loves a rosary he got from Father Frances. Tis for Eric. Marlena is touched by the gesture and praises John for offering Brady his heart. She never wants to be without him. He feels the same way and they share a tender moment. They are about to head to the hospital together to visit their boys but Ed arrives. He bears news for John so Marlena goes ahead. Once alone, Ed gets straight to the point. He got in touch with the people who wanted him to stop investigating their secret Winterthorne program and informed them John posed no threat. He only wanted information about his parents. John drawls that's a fact. Ed continues. They gave him the name and number of John's mother, which Ed now hands to him. The man in black is suspicious but Ed believes it is legit. However, he only bought them some time so they would be wise to watch their backs. John is grateful and cautiously considers his next move. He has been burned by bogus intel before ... Eve runs into teary-eyed Theresa at the square. She was unaware of the accident ... Nicole tries to make Parker happier by telling him how Daniel never left them and helped someone by giving them his heart. They share an unhappy embrace ... Marlena wants a word with Roman at the hospital about the impending charges against their son. Roman sighs it will be vehicular manslaughter and as commissioner he must uphold the law. Justin appears and the dedicated D.A. solemnly seconds the motion. There can be no appearance of favoritism. Furthermore, Eric is looking at jail time, the maximum penalty. Marlena morphs into mama bear mode and argues Eric is still recovering. Besides, someone else might have been at fault for the accident. Roman laments Eric did not yield and that was what caused Dan's death. He is totally responsible for the tragedy ... Chloe, Mel, and Nicole are at the apartment together. Tis a tough time. Chloe notes Maggie is waiting and there are plans to be made. Nicole gets upset she is now faced with choosing funeral music instead of wedding music. She breaks down and runs out ... At the square, Theresa sobs as she tells her big sister that Victor said she was to blame for the accident. Eve calls him an old coot and urges her to ignore it. Besides, Brady loves her ... Theresa now asks about Eve and Justin. Eve feels he has not lost his feelings for Adrienne. She thinks he never will ... Meanwhile Justin is on his phone leaving a tender message for unseen Adrienne. Sonny needs some legal documents for the club and asked him to call. He asks about her test results and hopes all is well. Then he heads outside and spies Eve at the square. He asks how she is. She admits she is feeling down due to the death she just heard about and lets him know she would rather be alone. Justin sits down regardless ... Maggie is now with Melanie and tells her to hang onto how proud papa Dan was of her. They cry together. Mel wishes she had not moved away but Maggie assures her she did was what right at the time. Now there must be only love and sweet memories. Nicole joins them and complains of having to deal with the funeral director. Maggie offers to do that for her. Nicole suggests a small simple service. Maggie notes Daniel knew many who will want to remember him. Nicole snaps it will not bring him back and Maggie starts to sob. Nicole sobs she cannot do this and bolts. Maggie is now consoled by Melanie ... Ed approaches Eve's table at the square to discuss the music program. Justin will talk to her later about having dinner. When he leaves, Ed wants to know whether that was serious. Eve reminds him business only and refuses to discuss her personal life. Ed gazes at her with remorse and agrees ... Nicole enters the club, where Finn asks her to sit at his table. He thinks she needs someone to talk to. Through her tears, she asks him to tell her all about Daniel before they first met, once upon a time when he was alive ... Eve excitedly informs Ed how she was able to sing a Christmas carol again. He smiles he always loved her voice. She updates him on her new protege Claire and thanks him again for the program. It makes her feel useful again. He is glad to hear it and they clasp hands over the table. Kate does a double take ... Finn lets Nicole know how deeply Daniel loved her. It was the real deal. She is grateful and he places a reassuring hand on hers ... Brady is alone in his room. He places his hand on his heart - that is, Daniel's heart that now beats inside him. Victor enters and suggests he move back into the mansion for his recovery. Brady suspects he is trying to cut Theresa out of the picture. Victor tells him his theory that she is to blame for the crash by making him turn back for the gift she got him. Brady cannot believe his spin ... Kate greets Eduardo. Eve leaves and looks back at them together. He acts aloof with Kate and reveals he was in Paris to ring in the new year ... Jen comes across crying Theresa at the park, who feels to blame for the accident. Jennifer urges her she is not to blame any more than she is. She sadly suggests that she not waste a single moment with the one she loves and departs ... Ed apologizes for missing Kate's Basic Black launch, which he heard was a success. He suggests they have dinner sometime. She smiles maybe. He smiles she is going to make him work for it. She smiles another maybe ... When Nicole gets back to the apartment Parker is pouting. Chloe sighs he said he wants to stay in Salem and live here with her ... John takes out his phone and calls the number on the note Eduardo gave him. After a few rings a female answers. Hello? The former pawn pauses ... Brady insists Theresa is not to blame. He gives Victor a dark stare and suggests they all know WHO was really to blame ...
