Friday, February 28, 2014 Episode 12,285 - Abigail is all alone at Horton square café, wearing a demure updo. She stands up and spies EJ elegantly walking and talking on his phone. She flashes back to their last almost encounter in the boardroom. EJ gets off his phone, annoyed his contact had no answer. He is in a foul mood. - At the pub, Sami literally runs into Rafe. She throws her arms around the big guy to stop him from falling to the floor, then notices he is without cane. He confirms the good news and she impulsively hugs him again. She pulls back and apologizes for her two attacks. Rafe just grins and appreciates her well wishes. Life is good! She smiles. He sincerely hopes things are swell in her world as well. She gushes they are indeed and he questions that. Shouldn't she and EJ be married by now? She replies they have set a date in May and smiles with stars in her eyes. - Jordan is shocked to see Ben at the park. What is he doing in Salem! Ben laments she disappeared without a word and should not have assumed he would stay away! Jordan is exasperated. - Jen is with JJ at her office. She is relieved they were able to arrange his community service with the hospital. JJ is just happy she and Dan found their way back to each other. - Dan is preparing for a romantic night, polishing a candlestick in his apartment. Roommate Nicole explains she got a room and, her bag packed, ready to go, wishes him a good night. The medicine man senses something is bothering her. He notes they did not finish their last conversation. Then there is that highly irregular bag of trash she brought home from work. She is also not quite her perky self. Nicole flashes back to her shredding misadventure. Dan wonders whether her odd nervousness is connected to the bag. - At the dark DiMera mansion, the godfather has a visitor! Stefano toasts his Queen of the Night, and muses this must be imporrrrtant given she actually came to see him. Marlena, her lips as red as the fire that drives her to protect her own, thinks important would be an understatement! He drawls she must be in dirrrrre straits to turn to him and eyes her suspiciously. Marlena explains it is a matter concerning her son Eric. It would make such a difference to his priestly predicament if only the truth came out. His entire future rests in Stefano's hands! The powerful one purses his lips in thought. - Nicole admits to Dan she is experiencing ... reservations about how people might react to her and Eric in public. Dan suspects she is really just worried about Marlena ... - Jen has summoned Eric to her office at the hospital. He takes a seat and gets something off his chest. It concerns Daniel. - EJ politely greets Abigail. Abigail suddenly insists they not leave things the way they were. She argues people know they are friends so they could surely sit and chat. He watches as she sits on a bench. She adds pleeeeeeease. He gingerly sits next to her on the bench. - Sami has heard about Rafe and Jordan but he becomes rather tight lipped at the mention of his new flame's name. Sami understands and smiles she just meant it is good they are both happy. She now praises Gabi and Will and their beautiful baby. Rafe grimaces and she wonders. He solemnly states he wants her to be happy, he really does. However, make no mistake, he will never stop trying to bring down EJ and Stefano! Sami takes a deep breath. - Eric sits across Jen's desk and proceeds to state Dan's case. She should give the good doctor another chance He loves her so much! She teases she will and he is a day late. They are getting back together tonight! - Nicole snaps she cares not what Marlena thinks of her. Dan doubts it and offers to set her straight. That woman should be grateful she risked her life for her son! Nicole points out Dan did too. - Marlena continues trying to convince Stefano. They are not so different as they would do anything to protect their families. He quips even beg! She reminds him her son was called by God and can continue to help others. Stefano the European Catholic is not unaffected by the God talk. The blonde now assures him she would be forever grateful if he could right this wrong for her son. The phoenix considers. It seems too sweet a deal to pass up and yet so dramatically delicate due to his beloved Kristen's involvement. His dark eyes flicker as he weighs the pros and cons in his crafty mind. - Jumpy JJ informs a nurse he is supposed to start his community service here today. The nurse knows nothing of it. HR terror Anne appears and enlightens the lad. There has been a change in plans! She canceled his assignment. She leers a known drug dealer may not have access to the hospital pharmacy. She hands him a slip of paper and taunts he has been reassigned to the salt mines. And he is late! JJ grabs the paper and takes off. - Abigail explains to a very quiet EJ that she knows he was not honest with her about that night and she does not think he ever will be! He admits she is right about that. He cannot be truthful with her about that night, though he has strived to be truthful in every other way possible. He hopes she realizes that. - Sami gets sarcastic. Rafe drawls she deserves better than EJ. She insists he loves their kids and he has changed! He has sacrificed a great deal for her. Rafe suspects she feels indebted but she insists she loves him. Of course she was unable to live with him in the past, but that was then this is now. Rafe scoffs he has changed like a regular Nick Fallon. Sami hisses at him for comparing him to that bastard. Rafe quips yes, it is an insult to Nick! Sami wishes he could at least be happy for her. Rafe sighs he wants her to be happy though he knows she will not find her happiness with the likes of EJ DiMera. - Ben suspects Jordan is worried her new guy will see them talking. She nervously denies it. - Daniel assures Nicole they fought hard for Eric. She feels badly for dragging him into danger. Dan grins he dragged her and praises her as a selfless woman. The year at St. Luke's changed her. She explains she only pushed papers but Dan disagrees. The Nicole of now would never do the nefarious things she has done to others in the past. They list her victims' names and he calls her an amazing woman, a good friend. Post pep talk, Nicole smiles she will give him his privacy with Jen, wishes the good doctor a nice night with the fair Jen, and exits. She sighs outside the door that she is no kind of friend. However she can still do something ... - Stefano finds the passion of the Marlena moving. Alas, he cannot give her what she asks. She calls him a coward. She should have known! He muses if she is so all knowing, then why did she come! Marlena regroups in a flash and decides there still might be something he could do for her. He awaits her next move. The blonde sits back down and mentions Dr. Chyka. She would like to speak with him though she does not need to see him. She merely wants her questions answered. No recording, no strings attached. Stefano speaks hypothetically. If he did know this person, the doctor ... She hastily assures him she seeks only information to help Eric, not anything that would harm Kristen. Stefano concludes she wishes to ask Chyka about NICOLE. - Eric feels foolish. Jen puts him at ease and then asks him to help her with a story she would like to have made as a photo essay. She got the budget approved but even the hours are bad. Eric is thrilled and takes a quick look at the pages she has handed him. Seems to be a great story! He thanks her profusely, wishes her a great date, and departs. Jen is still smiling in anticipation. - Jordan snaps she has to go to work. Broody Ben insists they are not done and he is not leaving Salem anytime soon. She repeats she has to go and walks off with a sigh. - Jen is back at Horton house, pleasantly surprised by a visit from Nicole, who commends her for coming to her senses. They both smile. Nicole assures her they will be alone tonight. Jen thinks that is sweet, then admits it is almost pressure, how many people are rooting for her and Daniel. Nicole gushes she has a date as well. Jen is amazed. With Eric?! - Sami wonders how well Rafe really knows his lady love Jordan. She asks where she is from. Alabama. Sami notes she has no southern accent. What is her story?? Rafe has no answer. Sami points out she could be a serial killer! Rafe reminds her she is back with EJ, though, and history repeats itself. This will spell a disaster for her and the kids, even though he wishes he was wrong. Sami thinks he simply does not understand. He sighs he never will and excuses himself. Sami bites her lips, then calls after him she is glad he is alright. He murmurs thanks and goes on his tough guy way. - Abigail admits she did not want to believe EJ's truth. But he loves Samantha. Abigail acknowledges she was trying to fool herself. She could not bear to believe he was back with Samantha and their time together was not special for him the way it was special for her. She had not wanted to accept that he was only trying to stop her from talking to Hope and truly wanted only Samantha. She agrees it is over because it has to be. No more denial. EJ nods in approval. - JJ reports outside the pub to supervisor Russ, who does not buy his late story and tells him to go home. He is tacking another day onto his service. JJ offers to do an hour of work today and Russ hands him his vest. His job is to erase graffiti at the town square and clean public toilets. JJ's face falls. - Marlena points out she has certain questions for Chyka, as he escaped on Nicole's watch and only he can tell her what happened that night. Stefano grimaces. - Abigail can perceive the relief in EJ's eyes. They stand up and he assures her he knows how hard this is for her. She thinks he does not know at all and adds they are going their separate ways. He tells her she will be fine. She primly notes she will be. She plans to move on and woefully states she will never get involved again with anyone like ... anyone in his situation. EJ gives her a sympathetic look. She assures him she will not cause a scene. He never thot she would. It is not who she is. She sadly states it is time for her to start discovering who she really is and goes on her lonely way. EJ raises his eyes to the heavens. - JJ is at the town square doing duty in his bright yellow vest He has a pail and brush in one hand, a garbage bag in the other. Rory and Bev laugh at the sight of him cleaning, Rory says to tells his boss to shove the brush up his ... Mr. Supervisor appears and yells up his what! - EJ waltzes into the pub, kisses his dahling Samantha with a surprise kiss from behind and happily sits at her table. Wot is going on? He gets sarcastic when she updates him on Rafe being without his cane. He sips coffee and admits he does not like the guy. Sami now repeats what Rafe had said, that he intends to come after him and his father, then adds he also claimed EJ would only hurt her again. EJ is incensed. He said WOT! He blames Rafe for being the party who screwed things up in the first place! - At the hospital, Rafe puts a friendly hand on Jordan's shoulder. She jumps. Rafe notices. - Nicole confirms she has a date with the priest. Jen lets her know they have her full support. Nicole thanks her. Jen thanks her too. They marvel at how they are getting along these days. Life is indeed strange! Nicole decides it is time to go. Outside the door, she thanks God and implores Him not to strike her down this time ... - Back at DiMera mansion, Marlena continues with her mission. She gives Stefano her word that he can control the conversation between herself and Chyka. He wonders about her questions. She wants to know if it is true that Chyka did not leave any evidence behind. All she has is Nicole's word. She promises to only ask about Nicole, with no pressure about anything that could compromise Kristen, no evidence necessary. The phoenix realizes she is only after Nicole. She wonders whether he will help her. He strokes his dark beard in thought, his phoenix ring visible. - Rory and Bev make themselves scarce. The supervisor orders JJ to work, not consort with his fellow hoodlums and he had better be on time tomorrow! Once the supervisor steps away, Bev comes back and suggests they spend some time together when he gets off. - Stefano announces he can appreciate the sheer magnitude of Marlena's request. He will need time to think about it and will soon be in touch. He raises the sherry glass to his lips. She thanks him and he watches her depart, her head held high. - Nicole the hopeful is sitting at the club in her black cocktail dress. Ring ring! She fears Eric is cancelling but the text tells her to turn around. Eric stands before her and romantically offers her a beautiful red rose. They gaze at each other. - Chez Dan, romance is in the air. The champagne is on ice and he is wearing his best blue shirt. He opens the door to Jen, who smiles at him with her baby blues and tenderly takes his hand. - Rafe is sorry he startled Jordan, who pretends she was thinking of one of her cases. He came by to fill out his insurance paperwork again and now invites her out for dinner. She stammers she cannot as she is busy here. She wishes him a good night and claims she has to run. Rafe is dismayed as she disappears from view. - Sami points out what happened was not all Rafe's fault. EJ argues she almost went to prison because of him. They would be married by now! Sami reasons they cannot blame Rafe for not liking his family. However, she knows EJ is better than his father and Kristen and she has no doubts. She throws her arms around him to prove it and he grins. - Shivering Abigail walks through the park, telling herself the affair is over ... Meanwhile someone has just finished making copies of photos of her and EJ kissing. Dozens of them. Let the payback begin! THE END |
