Sonny has been stabbed near the town gate. He loses consciousness ... At Eric's apartment, Serena reasons they need to be here to make it special,like when they were in Africa. She would rather be surrounded by his African art. Eric is unable to convince her the luxurious lodge is best. She pouts and protests until he agrees. He puts his bag in the other room and she gets a phone call ... Tis movie night for Dan and Mel and his big bowl of popcorn. He suddenly remembers to skype Parker and goes in the other room. Mel has a visitor at the door. Tis Brady, who gushes he came to get her to finish their date. She thinks that is sweet but she is supposed to stay in and spend quality time with her dad as promised. Brady moves in for a kiss. Dan returns and clears his throat. The lovers come apart. Brady gets a work call and steps into the hall ... Adrienne is astonished when Lucas lifts her hand and repeats she is sexy, he was not just saying it. He gets closer for a kiss ... Paul gives Will the go ahead to send the article to his editor for morning publication. He teases him for not telling the world the real reason he came out was they slept together. Will suspects that was just the start of Paul's journey to truth ... Maggie finds Victor sulking at the square and he updates her on Sonny not wanting to hear him out. All he wanted was to help him! The redhead suggests they find Sonny so he can make things right. They head in the direction where Victor last saw him. It is dark ... Will hopes he did not cross the line by including Paul's proposal. Paul pauses and flashes back to once upon a time when Sonny asked him to marry him. Back to reality. He does not mind and notes no one will know except his old flame, for his name is not mentioned ... The hooded assailant seems to set it up to look like Sonny was mugged by a drug addict. He steals his watch,wallet,and wedding ring and rubs white powder on the gash in his back. The body is dragged behind flowers ... Victor and Maggie arrive and the cloaked figure vanishes fast ... No sign of Sonny ... Victor thinks they should go home, he should just let stressed Sonny speak with Will as he intended. Maggie insists he at least call him and that is when they hear his phone ringing within earshot ... Lucas and Adrienne's almost kiss is interrupted by crying Arianna. Lucas offers to take care of it. Adrienne assumes he was just trying to make her feel better and says so when he returns after stammering she needs to go to the library now. ... Loverboy Brady comes back and stands by Mel's side. Dan has an announcement to make. Maggie made him realize it was unwise to stand in the way of love and so he is giving his official blessing. Brady appreciates it. Mel thanks him. Dan now orders them to go out and have fun but before they make it out the door... Paul asks Will to stay for one last drink and Will obliges. His phone is turned off ... Maggie and Victor follow the sound of the ringing phone and comes across Sonny sprawled on the ground. Maggie screams. Victor calls out his name. The wound is oozing blood so Maggie crouches down to apply pressure. Victor calls 911, shell shocked. But Sonny is alive, hanging on by a thread ... Will is anxious to head home to his significant other. Paul sees him to the door and thanks him for everything. This is probably their last goodbye and they keep it professional. Will forgets his phone but turns back to get it. Out in the hall, he turns it on ... The paramedics have arrived,with Roman and Abe surveying the crime scene. Unconscious Sonny is taken to the ambulance. He has lost a great deal of blood. Roman tries to piece together the timeline as Maggie cries. Victor gets emotional. He spoke with Sonny just 10 minutes before ...Before Mel and Brady flounce out Dr. Dan gets a shocking call from Victor. He morphs into medicine man mode and ushers the group to the hospital. He will explain en route ...Lucas makes eyes at Adrienne but she gets a call from Maggie that sends her racing out the door. Sonny has been hospitalized! Lucas stays to arrange for a sitter and phones and texts Will again and again and again ... Serena lies to Eric that her boss has ordered her to update some research and it will take all night! She apologizes profusely and purrs she wanted their first night to be perfect. Eric holds her in his arms and assures her there is no rush ... Sonny is rushed into the hospital, wheeled to the OR. Dr Kayla and Maxine are waiting. Dr. Dan has already been notified. Nurse Maxine notes his blood type is O negative and due to an earlier incident, they are almost out! She places a call to a well known name on the donor's list ... Dan gets to the hospital anxious to attend to the patient, who is stable but bleeding. Brady hugs Victor. Mel hugs Maggie. News travels that Sonny has been stabbed. Victor credits Maggie with stopping the bleeding back at the park. Adrienne comes running and breaks down upon hearing her son was stabbed and has lost a lot of blood. She leaves Justin a message, distraught that he does not pick up ... Paul has gotten the call to action and heads to the hospital. When he arrives,Maxine takes him into a room, where he admits he had a glass of wine. As he is the only donor who answered the call,he will have to do ... In the OR Dr. Dan thunders he cannot do this, he cannot save this patient without more units of blood ... Roman has remained at the scene of the crime. Abe confers with him over the phone. Sonny's wallet, watch,and wedding ring were stolen, plus there is a strange white powder that was found at the wound opening. It appears he was the victim of a desperate drug addict, like what happened to EJ DiMera. Victor is furious. He mutters to himself he would kill that Clyde Weston if he wasn't already dead ... Lucas arrives and consoles Adrienne, who cries on his shoulder. She cannot lose her sweet son ... Will walks in and is horrified that his hubby was stabbed. He ends up at the chapel, where he prays feverishly. He tearily admits to God that he betrayed Sonny in the worst possible way but he cannot lose him, nor can Arianna. Victor comes up behind him and places a reassuring hand on his shoulder. How much he overheard is not yet known ... Dr. Dan is desperate to find the source of Sonny's bleeding and exclaims he is slipping away, his pulse is dropping, he needs more blood right this minute ... Eric fondly remembers making love with Serena in Africa. He still feels the need to make new memories with her ... Serena is back in her room with the elephant she planned to switch. She promises her mysterious partner in crime on the phone she is ready and willing to do what needs to be done ... Brady holds Mel close, grateful to have her. He knows Maggie and Victor appreciate her being here too ... Paul's blood has been delivered but it might not be enough. He therefore insists on donating more. Maxine warns it might not be safe but Paul orders her to do it ... Dr. Dan waits for the transfusion and urges the patient to hang on ... Loved ones wait with bated breath ... THE END |
