Steve and Kayla cannot get out of the storage room in the administrative wing no matter how much they shout and bang. But even worse is the fact that she forgot her cell phone and his happens to have a dead battery. Kayla hyperventilates about the admin staff being gone for the day. These timer lights will soon leave them both in total darkness ... Son Joey steps away from the door, having accomplished his mission ... Gabi brings turkey sandwiches to feed the boys in blue at the station. She gets flustered when she runs into JJ, who was using the resource center. He suggests they go out for a drink together ... Theresa has packed her bags and bids Brady a heartfelt goodbye at the door. He is visibly shaken that she must move out and will miss seeing son Tate in the mornings all because of Victor. The Greek appears and grumbles so Theresa scurries out ... Nicole is at the hospital to hand fiance Dr. Dan the keys he forgot. His old friend from Down Under Dr. Fynn tries to chat her up. Dan appears, ready for surgery, and smiles at his old friend. Nicole excuses herself to a meeting. Dan is looking forward to spending tonight with her and lets his pal know this one is not competition, she is his forever girl and is off limits as such. Fynn plays along but he has other plans ... JJ and Gabi cutely get to a pub table and cannot decide whether this is a date or not. They discuss music and drink red wine ... Steve accidentally knocks over a bottle containing chemicals. The lights go out. Kayla starts to feel faint. He cleans up what he spilled and teases her to make light of the moment ... Victor has harsh words for Theresa but Brady insists she is family. Victor is in a foul mood for he has to work on his eulogy for Bo. He questions Brady's judgment as the CEO of Titan. Brady had not been expecting this. He continues to defend the mother of his beloved little man Tate and tries to explain she changed. Victor, however, is not in a forgiving mood. He snarls to choose Titan and the family OR the gold digger. Brady makes it clear he would choose family, as would his grandfather, and decides they should discuss this after Bo has been buried. But he does say he is moving out ... Nicole joins hardworking corporate Kate at the pub. Kate points out the New year launch is around the corner and they have no face for Basic Black! Nicole notices popular Paul at the bar and suggests he would be a great spokesperson. Kate thinks that could work as she already knows he is a consummate pro whose Mad World contract is just about expiring ... Kayla starts to panic so Steve takes his sweetness in his arms ... Nicole and Kate announce to Paul they would like him to be the spokesperson for Basic Black. He is intrigued but assumed they only had a women's line. Kate has an idea ... Theresa catches up with her former bff Anne at the square and suggests she stay with her for a few days. Anne is still smarting over the fact that she unfriended her by ignoring her and waltzes off ... Kayla starts to feel light headed and laughs like a schoolgirl at Steve's jokes. He plays his harmonica too and makes up a funny song about their situation ... Corporate Kate approaches Gabi's table at the pub and tells her she wants her to be the face of Basic Black with Paul! But they would need to get started now to see how they look together. JJ is supportive and happy for Gabi but their table becomes a place of Basic Black Business fast. Paul and Gabi are observed together as Nicole and Kate continue their meeting. So far so good. Gabi would not want continual international travel though New York and London on occasion would be fine. Paul is his polite and pleasant self ...Kayla giggles about Steve and his career focus. He informs her of his big plan to start a private investigation agency with none other than John Black. Their name will be THE BLACK PATCH. If only Bo could have been their third man ... Dr. Dan and Dr. Fynn are out of surgery. Foxy Fynn teases he needed his help. Dan drawls what he did was so easy a nurse cold have done it. He then corrects himself as a pretty brunette nurse soap stares ... In the sexy storage closet Steve warms up his sweetness by placing his leather jacket around her and rubbing her shoulders and her hands. Oooo ... Then comes the HOT KISS ON THE LIPS ... Kate notes she needs to get Gabi to a stylist. JJ realizes their almost date is over and excuses himself ... Dan departs to meet Nicole at the pub. Foxy Flynn flirts with the pretty nurse and takes her out also to the pub ... Steve and Kayla are kissing with passionate abandon when an orderly opens the door. Kayla tries to regain her chief of staff composure and exits with Steve as the orderly and Patchman exchange a knowing grin ... Theresa joins the Basic Black divas at the pub. She gushes she has some design ideas for Paul and Gabi, aka the new faces of the company. Kate agrees to give the sketches her consideration. Theresa the changed one smiles with hope in her eyes ... Gabi goes after JJ and catches up with him. He admits he is a long way off from even dating. They share another friendly hug that seems to feel like more ... Dan arrives for his date with Nicole at the pub. They are at their table talking about his fiend Fynn when Fynn walks in with the nurse. Dan ushers his fiancee home in a hurry ... Brady catches up with Theresa at the square and tells her when the townhouse is ready in a few days he intends to move in with her. She is pleasantly surprised and agrees they can have the same arrangement as before. Victor strikes again! Brady teases her about all the microwavable meals she has in her bag and wonders where she is staying. She is elusive and he tenderly tells her to go to the Salem Inn. He will arrange for her to have a suite with room service until the time the town house is ready. She refuses to take any charity and assures him she will have more money in the new year if her sketches are accepted. Brady believes in her talent and lets her know as he gently looks into her eyes ... At the hospital Kayla thanks Steve for his support. He gallantly replies you are welcome and they walk away together. Joey watches from a distance and texts his boss it was a SUCCESS. The unseen boss texts back EXCELLENT. Now it is time to take the next step. Joey cannot wait ...! THE END Ahead on Days of Our Lives: Hope interrogates Claudia. Shawn bids Belle goodbye. Abi is scared by Ben. She should be! |
