BASED ON DAYSCAFE NOON TWEETS WITH DETAILS ADDED! At the pub P.I. Paul complains to super spy John about people knowing who he is, so how to work in secret? John drawls no one would suspect him and asks what this is really about. Paul laments he tailed Jen to a seedy motel and it made him feel like a heel. Perhaps this is not the job for him. John agrees there is a certain stress ... Gabi gets home late to the family. Ed explains what he already said to her present siblings Rafe and Dario. Adriana stares into space as he declares he has decided to leave town ... Jade catches up at the square with Joey and updates him on her now happy home. She thanks him for being her hero and asks if he has been avoiding her. Pause ... Kayla joins Steve to fill him in on the good prognosis Joey is making in his sessions. She stammers couples therapy was on the table for them too, suggested by Marlena the emotional healer and their son, and nervously awaits his response. She knows from the past that Patchman does not like to open up ... John praises his son for all the good work he has done and still can do. Sonny appears and Paul smiles up at him, his eyes shining ... Joey denies any avoidance though he admits he is handling issues. Jade hates how he is shutting her out and fears he found someone new. He denies that as well. She sighs they have slowed down and the phone calls are fading. Joey shares that he is seeing a shrink, and things have been coming to the surface about his rage. Jade urges him to tell her all about it. He notes Marlena says part of his anger and confusion is cos of HER ... Steve sighs and tells sweetness therapy can be a good thing just not his. He would rather forget his past even if the therapist is Marlena. Kayla gets decidedly defensive. He apologizes but Kayla insists Marlena might help them find their way at long last. It will help them work their way back to one another. Steve tells his baby he is there already ... Gabi gets upset with everyone for not telling her earlier. Rafe informs her they were respecting father's wishes. She accuses Ed of not wanting to watch his granddaughter grow up. Adriana also disagrees with the departure. Ed alludes to the clear and present danger, given Gabi's recent attack. Therefore the time has come to say goodbye. Dario looks smug as the womenfolk woefully stare ... Jade is utterly insulted. Joey stammers his actions since they met have given him grief. She reasons she was not around when the Ava drama went down. Joey agrees and admits he loves her coolness. She prettily pouts. He notes he does not want to turn into his dad ... Kayla is cross that Steve implied she is the one who is hesitating and being a Debbie downer. He denies it and drawls I love you baby. BUT he has no problem with them. Kayla wishes he would at least meet her halfway. He snaps he took a new safer job already. Kayla wishes he would do the work for THEM. He insists he already is trying as he gave up his whole career and moved into a hotel to give her space. What more is a man to do?! Paul gushes what is going on? Sonny came to get takeout. John slyly excuses himself and grins they can catch up. Sonny sits in John's seat and Paul asks him to stay. He could use a friend to confide in. Sonny suggests they do lunch together while they talk and hands him a menu ... Joey fears he may be trying to be like his father on some level and compares Jade to evil Ava! The girl is aghast. She feels like this is the end of them ... Kayla urges Steve to be fearless. He replies he does not like therapy or even believe in it. Kayla emotionally insists and so he eventually agrees to an appointment. As it turns out Marlena had an afternoon cancellation. Steve looks concerned about what could come out in the last minute session into his soul ... Jade hisses at Joey to go to hell and storms off. His parents arrive and he complains about their fight. He fumes Marlena's therapy made it all worse. Kayla updates him on them getting couples therapy and he softens somewhat. Steve confirms he is stepping up. Kayla asks her son to also give it another chance and he agrees. They hug and she happily heads to the hospital. Joey wonders what his father is really feeling and deduces he will not like therapy either ... Back at the pub Sonny and Paul lunch as Sonny asks about Paul's P.I. concerns. Paul confides he hates doing anything that would hurt anyone. Long term it will affect his relationships. He sighs however he has none at the moment. Sonny notes relationships are not worth the hurt and crunches his lettuce ... Gabi woefully hugs the father she will miss and wipes away her tears. Rafe questions if he will have any contact at all and adds it is his call. He offers to help find the threateners if he gets a lead. Mama breaks down and races out of the room. Gabi blasts Dario for acting so distant once she is alone with her brothers. Dario blames Ed for all the pain he has caused. Gabi snaps her family stood by her so they should stand by their father! Dario coldly goes in the other room to take a call. Rafe consoles his sister, who senses something is off ... Outside phone Dario rages at his unexpected caller, the thug he paid to attack. It seems he is not going away anytime soon ... Steve assumed Joey was the one who thought of the couples therapy in the first place. The young man complains Marlena made him lose his girl. Steve assures him he and his mom are here for him. He tells him to be true to himself above all else. Joey now goes after Jade. Steve reads his text from Kayla about their session starting in 20 minutes. He sighs ... Rafe admits he also had doubts about dad but Gabi reminds him he came around. Rafe believes in his sincerity. Gabi finds Dario's behavior strange these days and senses a secret ... The thug demands more money and Dario snaps to get the hell out of town. He is furious he attacked his sister instead of his brother but the sinister one refuses to leave Salem. He sneers he can make more money here ... Paul is stunned by what Sonny has said. He gathers he was devastated to lose Will and partially blames himself for causing them pain by coming to town. Sonny insists it was NOT his fault for Will knew not who he was. This is about not setting oneself up to get hurt. He should not look to anyone else to tell him who he is. He should do what is right for him even if it is not the same vision John the great guy has for him. Paul muses that sounds like a new Sonny. Sonny solemnly states he has become his own man, and is not a pleaser. He is dedicated to fighting the unfair charges against Victor and adds he might then join the family business. Paul unhappily perceives he has changed much. Sonny states Will is gone and yes he has changed, for he is alone. Their eyes lock ... Gabi tries to talk to Dario again, who takes off to take care of something. The family is back in the kitchen for the final goodbye. Ed has his jacket and admits he will miss his daughter. He thanks Rafe and urges him to take good care of the family. Rafe fights the tears and tries to be a tough guy as he leaves for the station. Gabi weeps and woefully hugs her father again. Then she is gone. Ed puts on his black leather jacket. Mama weeps she is losing him all over again. He holds her close and vows to find a way to come back to the family. They will be together again. He murmurs he loves her in Spanish and she says the same ... John runs into Kayla outside Marlena's office. It seems doc is running overtime. He is surprised to hear Kayla will be having a couples session with Steve. John supports her and adds he misses his partner at Black Patch. He knows he left the dangerous trade to work things out with the woman he loves. Kayla complains he has been ignoring her texts and is late so he might not be so committed to changing after all. Meanwhile Steve calls from the club. He leaves a message for sweetness he cannot make the therapy thing due to work and hangs up ... Dario meets the attacker turned blackmailer at the park and pays him more money. It is the last time! The thug threatens to expose him and walks away. He heads to the square, where Gabi screams for help upon seeing him. He grabs her, sneers at the beech to shut up and adds he has had enough of her stupid family. Then he storms off ... Paul suggests Sonny speak to someone. Sonny coldly claims he has changed is all and pays for the meal. He lets Paul know he enjoyed the lunch and suggests they do it again. Paul is not sure what to make of this new Sonny ... Joey finds Jade near the park and apologizes for listening to his therapist. He loves and longs to be with her. She woefully wonders whether she is a bad influence. He tenderly takes her hands and tells her he will not let her go ... Steve is drowning his sorrows at the club when a girl in a red dress called Robin takes a set and flirts. He informs her he is involved and she teases he looks unhappy. Steve takes another drink. Enter John ... Kayla unhappily calls Marlena and cancels the appointment for couples therapy. She fears there will be no reschedule for her and Steve. She concludes this must be the end of them ...
