Before she leaves she smugly reminds Ava she warned her! Rafe wonders. Ava sighs it was about his feelings for so-called friend Nicole ... Nicole woefully admits she almost sent Eric a confession letter. Roman wishes she had for then this would not have happened. Tragic music plays. She tells Roman they both concluded that they were better off living separate lives. Roman rages his hurt son will never recover. He never loved anyone like her and now faces a life of sorrow. Nicole breaks down, blames herself, and leaves feeling worse ... - Phil quips Chloe is no Jake. Kate talks history and warns she still has feelings for boss Brady. He gets she is being protective but after she goes, he looks a little less secure ... Back at Basic Black Chloe suggests Brady go to the big apple with Nicole. He argues she will miss seeing her family. Chloe suspects he wants to be alone with her. He argues they are alone at work and now gets a call from Nicole, who needs time off. Brady agrees to a whole week ... Gabi approaches guilt-ridden Nicole outside the pub. She insists Rafe does not blame her ... Ava suggests sister Gabi was right and Rafe was keeping his romantic feelings from Nicole since she was a married woman. Rafe acts amused she fell for Gabi’s mind games, so she gets further offended ... - Suited Jake sits across suited Phil for his follow-up and final interview. Phil muses Kate warned he is Gabi’s Trojan horse who will help destroy him after she gets him inside. He stares him in the eye and waits for his response. Jake smoothly states Kate is still smarting from their breakup. In addition, she taught him everything he knows and rightly fears he wants to destroy DiMera for ousting him. That makes him very valuable to Titan ... Brady grins now he and Chloe have to go to New York alone ... Nicole praises faithful pal Rafe to Gabi, who insists he wants to see her asap to check she is alright ... Rafe tells Ava not to listen to Gabi. Ava has seen the sweet moments and longing looks. She even witnessed him holding Nicole. He exclaims he was comforting her. She wishes he would drop the denial and departs, slamming the kitchen door behind herself ... Phil admits Kate warned him not to hire Jake. Jake would rather not work for a man who relies on his mother and politely thanks him ... Chloe still wants Brady to explain why he wants her on this biz trip. He sighs ... Ava toys with her food at the square. Here comes Gabi, who taunts to step aside for Nicole ...
