She wonders why he fell off the wagon ... Eric hears giggles and country music outside Adrienne's door. He knocks for mom Marlena ... Brady is amazed by the amulet that must mean big brother Eric offed Deimos. The implications are staggering ... Sonny states to Chad what they remember might not be real. They were both high on halo. Chad still senses the real killer took the amulet from dead Deimos ... Marlena gasps to John she needs him over the phone. John peers. She tells him that Hattie came back, drugged her, and now she is stuck in the sanitarium at Bayview. John tells her the connection is breaking up. He has not heard her plea for help ... Eric demands his mom open the door. Hattie makes Bonnie greet their guest with her. She smiles it is nice to see Eric and wonders how he found her. He asks for an explanation ... Lucas is fed up with Chloe taking away his drink and snarls why is she here! She came to work out her singing deal and asks what happened. He pouts someone pushed him hard off the proverbial wagon. The songbird gives him a sympathetic soap stare ... Sonny suspects he who stole the amulet will regret it cos that thing is cursed. Besides he himself might have hidden it somewhere and not remember. Chad cannot deny it ... Brady finds Victor waiting up at the Kiriakis mansion. He asks if he will help cousin Sonny by finding a new suspect. Brady produces the amulet and lets him know where he found it. In the room of Eric the real killer. Eerie music plays ... Eric is surprised by the snack binging broads. Hattie as Marlena claims she was trying to make Adrienne feel better. The lies continue as they cover up. Fake Adrienne breaks down about Lucas and fake Marlena consoles her ... Chloe wonders who drove Lucas to drink this time and lists his exes. He laments he lost Adrienne to Justin today. Chloe cannot believe it. Lucas sighs she does not seem like the same woman ... John cannot make out Marlena's words clearly enough to comprehend. Alas her battery is running low ... Lucas demands a drink. Chloe says not to serve the alcoholic. The bartender quips it is not his problem. Lucas laughs. Chloe asks how it happened with Adrienne so he bitterly tells her how it came like a bolt from the blue. Chloe urges him not to take that new shot but he does with glee ... Brady boasts where he found the amulet but not why. According to Sonny, Deimos stole this from him the night of the party. He deduces Eric killed Deimos and is letting Sonny languish in prison for it. He insists they do something. The Greek tycoon considers ... Eric informs fake Marlena that John believed she was not being forthright with him ... John hears no clear words until Marlena exclaims she needs his help. That is one word the soap hero would hear anywhere ... Chloe is so sorry but wants Lucas to stop hurting himself. She offers to escort him to a meeting. He hisses she is no one to judge. He tells her not to call Maggie and cackles when she suggests she call Brady. They were drinking together today ... Victor orders his grandson to sit. He points out he left his prints all over the amulet and asks why he was in Eric's room. Brady rages he was looking for proof that Eric and Nicole were having an affair. Victor suggests the police will think he is trying to set up Eric. If he were not drunk as a skunk he might not have messed this up .. Hattie claims she is happier without John. Eric is baffled. Bonnie explains a bad romance can be like a habit. However, John and Marlena have been together for decades ... Chad sighs in the cell and asks Sonny to start again. Sonny states he was wearing the amulet and planned to sell it. That same day he fired all of Deimos' recent hires. Paul was upset, but then after the toast he could not find him. On his way he ran into Deimos and was too dizzy to fight him. Deimos stole the amulet, then Sonny was seen by the waiter standing over Deimos' body. That was when Chad showed up. Chad says to close his eyes and clear his mind a la Marlena hypnosis. He gets him to remember he was worried about Paul, whom he found in the garden. Chad adds the garden is off the living room. Sonny now remembers coming across stabbed Deimos and exclaims he did not do it cos when he got to him Deimos was already dead! This fact he has now seen clearly in his flashback ... John is ready to save doc but he needs details. The phone is grabbed away by the employee, who lets Hattie know she will pay. The connection is now lost. John takes off with purposeful footsteps ... Victor rages at Brady for his drinking being a bad influence on Tate. He threatens to have him thrown into rehab ... Chloe does not believe that Brady got drunk and reminds Lucas he did not go back to the booze even when Will died. Lucas would rather not remember losing Will. Chloe asks what made Brady fall off the wagon. He notes Nicole was cheating with brother Eric ... Bonnie acts hurt by Eric dismissing her problems. Eric excuses himself and informs his mother they will discuss John another time. The two imposters are tired. Hattie heads to her room for sleep, gushing tomorrow she gets a chance with Roman. Bonnie grins she will get Victor away from old red. Hattie leaves her with the mess and gasps when she finds herself face to face with a most curious John Black in the hall. He eyes her, seeking answers and that's a Salem fact... John asks what exactly she is doing. Hattie lies she wanted ice. He knows she is playing games and refers to her call. She muses she must have had too much ... stress is all! He asks why she called cos the connection was bad. He also spies the cheese puff crumbs on her blouse, bewildered as she hates those. She makes up an excuse but he asks how he can help cos she did ask for his help ... Lucas thinks Nicole is a man eater. Chloe issues the bartender a warning about the cops so he cuts off the booze supply. Lucas stands up to leave then falls flat on his face ... Belligerent Brady believes his few drinks were no big deal. Victor is furious he could cause another Titan scandal! Brady refuses rehab and reminds him the amulet could get Sonny out of jail. The Greek grimaces ... Sonny is all smiles he did not kill Deimos and hugs Chad in relief. They also know for a fact that Chad did not do it and assume it will be smooth sailing from here on ... Chloe helps Lucas to his feet and he agrees to give her his keys so she can be his designated driver. She walks him to the door as he wails about ADRIENNNNNNNNNE a la Rocky ... Victor growls at Brady to take a shower and come down when he is ready to go. Brady heads upstairs and Victor glares at the amulet he has left behind ... Sonny and Chad still know not who really killed Deimos. Once Chad's lawyer gets them out they have to find the amulet that will lead them to the true killer ... Eric comes home to his trashed room and gasps what happened ... Hattie lies she only wanted to ask John to stay away from the townhouse when she returns to pick up her things. He asks when. In the morning. He senses she is hiding something and vows to get to the bottom of the matter. Then he storms off ... Meanwhile Marlena has been sedated and strapped to the bed in her padded room. Violins play as she whispers for John the hero to help her ... END! |
