He demands to know the truth behind her hiring Nick the sob! Kate replies business is business and Nick the genius does make her tons of money. Rafe is losing his patience about being told to butt out. Stylish Kate supports whoever told him that and insists he has to butt out. The law enforcement pro in the black leather jacket ponders. - Gabi is at the apartment as she converses with lover boy Nick on the phone, lamenting how Rafe unfairly punched him. Nick strolls to the square and suggests finding common ground. He leads the girl to believe her brother is important to him too. Gabi will see him in a few and gets off the phone. Enter Will. Gabi gushes at the beauuuuutiful glass heart wedding gift he is holding. Will admits it was from Nick. Gabi is pleased as punch and jokes at least Will and Sonny did not trash it. Will insists it was thoughtful but there could have been ulterior motives. Gabi realizes he still thinks new improved Nick might be trying to manipulate people and situations to his advantage. Will reminds her that they are right to question Nick's motives, given the past, before they give him another chance. Gabi gets upset about people not giving him credit where credit is due. He is keeping them out of jail! She babbles about Rafe punching him and certain people shouting at her. Will assumes she is referring to Sami. - At the pub, Hope is surprised that Aiden and Marlena, who is now gone, know one another. Aiden explains Dr. Evans consulted on a case for him. Hope calls her a friend. Aiden thinks it is important to have friends. Hope thanks him for the meaningful gesture. He thinks the note from Chase was very necessary and thanks God she was there to save the day. Enter Father Luis, who assumes they are summer gala brainstorming. He has a heavy book of details for Hope. They both sigh. Luis laments there is a slight hitch. Errrr last year was not the best so things may have been left hanging by the former organizer. He excuses himself to see parishioner Caroline. Hope sits with Aiden, who bravely opens the heavy book and confirms things are not in order. Hope sighs he is being too positive. They have literally been handed a mess! - Brady asks Jen if there could be another suspect, besides Theresa the accused. She shakes her head and calls the girl sick and demented, out to destroy Daniel. Brady senses there could be someone else. He himself has screwed up though it did not make him vicious. Jen thinks he has too good a heart to understand the real Theresa and would rather not continue the conversation. - In his room, Liam takes a box of medication from his briefcase and decides this will do it! He now places a call to a contact, whom he has not been in touch with for a long time, but who apparently owes him a favor. The time has come to collect ... - Texting Theresa suddenly sees Dan at the park and tries to go the other way. He growls not to even think about it! She whispers she is sorry. He questions whether she means it. She whispers she did not do it. He drawls she must think she was clever enough to get away with it. She flashes back to Liam and states he knows not what she really thinks. Dan takes a step closer and dares her to enlighten him. Pause. - Rafe refers to Kate as part of the pro-Nick pack and pensively sips his tea. He refuses to let the sob near his sister. Kate suggests she might come to her senses. Rafe reasons she had a child with a gay man and then married Nick so where are those senses anyway? Kate suggests they wait and watch, playing it safe. Rafe leans forward and notes something is off cos he knows his ex lover Kate is no stranger to danger. She does not play it safe! Kate casually claims she does not want to alienate the mother of Will's baby. Rafe is exasperated about people acting like Nick is in a position of power. Kate states his hold over Gabi makes it so and excuses herself for a meeting. She urges her former lover to steer clear of Nick. But Rafe is not done yet. He intends to find someone who does tell him the whole truth. She wishes him luck and waltzes out. Rafe takes out his phone and considers. - Will quietly notices a text from Rafe, insisting he needs to speak with him and it is urgent. He hands Gabi the key from Sami, points out he laid down new ground rules, and implores her not to rush into anything with Nick. He and Sonny are rightfully concerned for Arianna's sake! - Liam's female contact anxiously hands him a small paper bag outside. She hopes they are even now and that this is worth it. He gleefully accepts the bag, euphoric about how very worth it this will be ... - Hospital board member Brady promises Jennifer he will keep their conversation completely confidential. Jen denies that is why she dislikes discussing Theresa, recalls her past transgressions, and warns this is really about Theresa only, not the board. She refuses to confide anything to him since Theresa could use it to wiggle her way out and hurt Daniel even more! She accuses Brady of losing his judgment since losing Kristen and turning to the bottle. Brady stares. - Theresa leers Dan cannot imagine what she thinks. He quips she may be smart for setting him up while keeping her own hands clean. However, even what she has on JJ cannot protect her from almost causing harm to a patient in the OR. No one will be able to save her now and she is going down down down! Theresa blinks up at him. She muses she did nothing, knows they have nothing on her, and suggests he and Jenny cease this harassment. Dan drawls she never works alone and he knows ... She dares Sherlock to share what he knows. Dan stares. - Aiden and Hope find out the Salem Inn ballroom has been overbooked for the all important summer gala. It will be a disaster! Aiden thinks she is being melodramatic. Hope recalls how the one time they did not have the venue there, the church almost lost money, Aiden asks for the number of the Salem Inn and boasts they will get that ballroom! Hope grins and hands him her phone, heaving dialed ...Hope later compliments Aiden on his ballroom booking maneuver, the fact that he was able to get the name of the booker. He discusses where to put the dance floor and silent auction table. Enter a suited Mr. Howell, the one who had booked the ballroom. Aiden wonders whether he would switch the date, Hope sighs their booking fell through the cracks. Howell knows and boasts he has been after that date for years. - Will points out Nick has a temper. Gabi snaps he is searching for trouble where there is none. Will stands up, stops himself from exploding, then tries to explain his position. There is no formal agreement and she almost moved out with his daughter and now she is moving on with Nick. Gabi wonders whether he wants a custody agreement, is that it? YES! - At the outdoor cafe, stylish boss lady Kate gives Nick the green light to proceed with his formula. Nick notes she has not even mentioned his split lip. She pretends to be surprised it does not occur more often, given the enemies he must collect. He knows she must know it was Rafe who beat on him and wants to know if she spoke to him. Kate notes Rafe knows he is horrible and loves his sister so one should not be surprised he wants to keep Gabi far away from him. Nick reasons Gabi is choosing to get romantically involved with him. It is her choice. Kate adds he does have evidence on her. Nick reminds her he has evidence on her, Gabi, and Sami. He threatens that Rafe could find out more than Kate would ever want him to know! Ironically Rafe could put all three of them behind bars - his sister, his ex-wife, and his ex-lover. Kate keeps her glamorous composure. - Will explains a joint custody agreement would ensure he would not be cut out of his daughter's life. Gabi replies she would not let that happen. He has his lingering doubts about Nick and adds he wishes to have a document drawn up to protect his parental rights, just in case. Gabi acts offended and decides to go. Will offers to watch Ari. Gabi quips that she trusts him though sadly it does not seem to be reciprocated! Exit Gabi in a huff. Will now texts Rafe that the coast is clear, he can come over. - Brady sulks as Jen explains after what happened with Kristen, she understands his desire to forget, but it should not be with Theresa. She cannot risk trusting him as long as he drinks and deals with Theresa. Brady asks her for a favor. - At the park, Theresa taunts Dan about what he thinks he knows. He knows the kind of creature she is. She calls that nothing, gets a text, and flounces off in her little black dress, clutching her expensive designer purse to match. Daniel answers a call from Jen, who summons him to the house. She will explain soon. Brady is still with her. - As it turns out, Mr. Howell is planning a dominos convention. Hope suggests the Horton square, or how about the new gym? Howell has no interest in her idea and complains about the lousy pub service. Hope sweetly asks him to help the cause for the kids. Mr. Howell hates kids. Aiden takes out his checkbook and Howell blasts him for trying to buy him off like a typical lawyer type. - Cowboy Rafe comes over. Will wonders what is up. Rafe drawls everyone is giving him the runaround and he hopes Will is going to be straight with him, unlike the rest of the pack. He stares him down. Is Nick blackmailing Gabi with something he has on her? Will sighs at least it has not come to that. Rafe realizes he does indeed have something he could use against her. Will urges him to drop it. No luck. Rafe drawls he could put Nick away if he did something illegal. Will curses and snaps the one who did something illegal this time was not Nick! And whoever told him to leave it alone was right. Rafe will not leave Gabi at Nick's mercy. Will fears Rafe could make things worse. Rafe purses his lips and notes rather oddly, that was what Nick said. Before or after he attacked him? Will adds all Rafe accomplished with his attack was to make Gabi even more sympathetic to Nick and his cause. He refuses to let things get worse for Ari's sake. Rafe warns a character like Nick Fallon cannot be appeased and if he tries, it will only backfire. He saunters out. - Gabi is with Nick at the park and updates him on Will wanting a custody agreement. He seems to be feeling nervous about Nick. Nick pretends to understand, as he did try to keep his daughter from him in the past. But that was then, this is now. Gabi implores him to promise he will not do such a thing ever again. And so he promises and takes her hand, tenderly telling her she can trust him. - Liam is alone in his room, placing pills inside a prescription bottle, while wearing his trusted blue gloves. - Lover man Dan greets Jen at the house and admits he ran into Theresa the terrible. He suspects he rattled her. Jen wonders whether she tipped her hand. Not exactly, though she was acting guilty and he cannot shake a bad feeling ... Jen announces there is someone who wants to help clear his good name. Someone who might be able to get answers from Theresa. Brady. Dan disagrees with involving the drunk. But Jen encourages him to give his faithful friend a chance. - Unsuspecting Theresa has met Brady at the cafe for coffee, though she feels they could do with a good stiff drink. Brady explains he is making some changes effective immediately. She peers at him with dread. Brady now shares that he has decided to help Daniel solve the mystery of his drugging. Theresa scoffs. Brady keeps going. Until he has figured this out, he must stop drinking and he must also stop seeing her. Theresa is miffed. He suggests he could clear her name too, provided she was not involved. She appears extremely anxious about the outcome. - Aiden smoothly states this is no bribe, this is an incentive. Mr. Howell threatens to expose him to the bar and also accuses Hope of being an unethical cop. He stubbornly refuses to give up the venue, wishes them luck, and exits the pub. Now what? Father Luis pops by and hopes things are going well. Hope is glum but Aiden the smooth talker covers. Luis calls them a great team and goes. Hope teases Aiden for lying to a priest. The lawyer teases this is getting fun. Hope sips her coffee. - Brady joins Dan and Jen at the house. Dan has his doubts. Brady declares he wants to step up and help him. He is no longer boozing it up or sleeping with the enemy. He is completely committed to helping his pal uncover the truth, man. They share a guy hug. Jen watches her lover and friend come together and smiles. - Theresa sits all by her lonesome in the park and panics. Liam the loon needs to cease and desist before it is too late ... - Said loon slips into Dan's place again with his trusted blue gloves and bag. He pulls the bottle of pills out and looks around. Now where to plant them ...? - Nick touches Gabi's face and murmurs he never ever wants to see her unhappy again. She gushes oh Nick and he romantically kisses her.
